Great chemistry, odd pace
I wish so much that this drama was longer because the pace was way too fast and all I kept thinking was that I loved the chemistry and I loved the main leads together and wanted the development of enemies-to-lovers to be more slow. I probably could've done without the side characters getting so much screentime, and even more without the string of misunderstandings at the end (even though I know the drama is setting up a season 2). The chemistry is great, the OST is catchy, the acting is pretty good, and the dialogue is beautiful — sometimes it's just a little confusing how the characters got to where they were because we didn't have time to show the "in-between" moments.Was this review helpful to you?

Taiwan does it again!
We Best Love was way more entertaining than I ever believe it would be. I'm not a fan of enemies to lovers (but it lowkey wasn't?) so my first thought was that I wasn't going to enjoy it, but I was wrong. We Best Love brought on beautiful actors to portray these love-sick puppies and their glorious stories.Let's Dive In
The production was really nice. The use of lighting and colors was big in this series. The music went perfectly with the overall mood of the series and the flow of the plot was magnificent. There wasn't anything they showed that felt irrelevant to the story; everything was where it needed to be. With a good flowing plot, it was easy to understand the characters and their conflicts.
I really enjoyed our two leads' performances. They felt very authentic and realistic, which with some pairings in BL you just don't get. All intimate scenes were done well, and I could really feel how much they enjoyed each other's company. The only thing that I found kind of hard to believe was how fast Zhou Shu Yi fell for Gao Shi de after he had overheard him confessing his love. He was pretty oblivious, as well as not showing any signs of liking Gao before then so I would've liked for that to have been given some more time. Their relationship felt pretty rushed, but they were cute, so I'm not too upset. We don't see much of Bing Wei and Zhe Yu in a relationship, only that it was subtly hinted at at the very end, so hopefully, we'll see more of them. They seem like they'll be our comedic pairing next season. I liked how helpful Shou Yi was with getting our leads together. The bartender seemed to might have some hidden feelings for him, so let's see where that goes next season. Yu Xin or Zheng Wen's relationship was nice I guess, but sadly I didn't care much for them (Although, Zack Fan is a gorgeous man).
I'm glad that everyone was already so accepting of Zhou Shu and Gao Shi's relationship without having to go through that period of acceptance. Even the mom was super accepting, so it made the watch much lighter. During Zhou Shu's confession, he somewhat uses the forbidden BL term, "I don't like men, I only like you." But in a more passionate way. It pretty much carried me out of the story completely and I was about ready to hang it up. Had that part not existed, this show would have a perfect score.
Overall, I really enjoyed my watch with this show. The first few episodes were a bit difficult for me to watch (like this show took me two weeks to finish when it consisted of 6, 30-minute episodes), but the last three caught onto the plot better and I was in full force afterward. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of enemies to lovers, I still really enjoyed this. As of now, season 2 is on my to-watch list, so hopefully, I will get to that sooner or later.

WBL: No. 1 For You is No. 1 for me. I finished watching this episode just an hour ago. I'm sad that it ended, but I'm excited about the next season. That teaser at the ending makes me want to say, "February can you speed it up? I want March fast, please". Let's put that emotion aside for now, and let me share with you my ratings for this series.STORY: 10/10 Unrequited love? Ok? Main characters butt heads with each other? Ok? Let's spark some jealousy so that he admits that he likes the guy too? Ok? BUT, the storyline is still fun to watch and not too cliche for my taste. There are no run-around, and yet pretty much straight forward for me. The romantic flair is there, the cuteness of other characters and how they are related to each other is perfect. I'm gushing at this point, but I love the storyline so much that I can't point out anything that I don't like. I love the look on Shu Yi's face when Shi De formally introduces Pei Shou Yi as his cousin. Epic!
CAST/ACTORS: 10/10 Sam Lin (Gao Shi De) and Yu (Zhou Shu Yi) are officially my second favorite ship for 2021 (after Heo Hyun Jun and Yoo Jun of Color Rush). Their chemistry is undeniable whether it's in the series or real life. The way they look at each other. The facial expressions or the body language makes you fall for them hard. Then there's Evan Lou (Liu Bing Wei) and Richard Lee (Shi Zhe Yu), who would have even dreamt that they would be together in this series. I had a tad bit hunch in the beginning. However, I didn't want my heart to get broken, so I didn't hope that much. Their ship looks promising too.
MUSIC: 10/10 Fits right to the tee. Will You Be My Love by Kelly Cheng is snappy that I'm getting LSS (Last Song Syndrome) vibes from it. Yu's voice in Aqua Blue? Please accept my heart.
REWATCH VALUE: 10/10 You won't get tired of watching this. The chemistry doesn't fade away that fast. Truth be told before this series ended, I had rewatched this series twice.
OVERALL: 10/10 I highly recommend this to all soft-hearted people who love romance and who believe that unrequited love can eventually be reciprocated. That there is a "happy ever after".

A simple story beautifully told
Some BL storylines are the same thing over and over again. This sometimes is extremely annoying to us viewers and sometimes it's not. It is the latter case in We Best Love: No. 1 For You.Story-10/10
We, the viewers, have seen so much time where one of the ML has fallen in love with the next ML for years and is not until many years later that they are able to finally get to be close to he individual where thier love blooms. That's what happened here. And what amazes me is that the actors are able to bring this story that we have seen so much times in such a beautiful way through thier acting. Also, the ending where we saw five years in the future and are now so confused as to why Zhou slapped Gao- well! Now I am wising it's March 05, cause I need to know what is going to happen next!
This story also made me appreciate the supporting characters, especially Gao's mom. It was finally nice to see a supporting mom on a Taiwanese series- heck in any BL series!
Acting/ Cast-10/10
Everyone's acting was on point! I felt happy when they were happy, I cried when they cried, I was in shock at some of thier scenes. I believe that all of them truly raised thw bar actng wise in Taiwan as it has been such a long time since I was so emotionally invested and actually feel in love with thier acting. I actually can't point at any flaws- that's how good thier acting was to me from the main actors to the supporting actors.

Yeah. I know that I would have liked this series just after watching the first episode. What I didn't expect was to fall in love with it thw way that I did. I would recommend this series with my whole heart to anyone.

speechless for that ending
This drama just be replenished me it made me feel good again. For the last couple weeks just watching Chinese drama and Oh my God I don't know how to explain this but the series was so beautiful it was amazing astonishing and I cannot wait to see the doctor's story. The main leads have so much chemistry like the slap at the end surprised me I was like OK you tell me they haven't seen each other for five years when he said he was going to be back in a couple of months what the hell Oh my God there so ..... I'm literally crying right now this show made me feel so much and I haven't felt this way since like in a couple of months since I was last to watch my last Taiwanese drama so I'm so happy because like Oh my God Can't wait for season 2.Was this review helpful to you?
Perfect amount of everything
*outline*I was trying to rate the drama harshly but I just couldn't because I liked it so much. I've already watched the drama twice in the past month or so. It's not a cliche, the pacing was perfect (except for EP6.5), and I really got a little attached the characters. It felt like my first time watching a BL even though it isn't and I still can't explain why properly.

STORY : It was something new. I'd never actually watched a drama with the protagonists the way they were and their past like how it was. Usually in every drama, the protagonists have a past - sure - but in this short drama, their past is the reason they actually kept seeing each other and I live for it. Sometimes after I watched the whole drama, the love did feel a little unclear. However, when I'd replay all that happened, I'd always think otherwise. Though I will admit, the story line of the drama does turn for a cliche ending. The pacing was amazing, the feelings and relationship wasn't rushed and that is one of the things that caused me to rewatch this drama.
ACTING/CAST : The level of empathy I felt was through the roof. As I said, it felt like my first time watching a BL and it always does for this particular drama. The characters and roles are unique. All the characters made me cry and laugh along with them. My favorite relationship in this drama was between Gao Shi De and Pei Shou Yi, though. I live for their brotherhood.
MUSIC : The first time I watched the drama I didn't pay much attention to the music but it got me vibing to it anyways and it was the same the second time I watched it. Yes, I ended up adding it to my playlist and I'm listening to it as I'm writing up this review too, actually. (YU - Aqua Blue and Alex Chou - Hard to Let Go)
REWATCH VALUE : I don't think I need to explain why I rated the rewatch value 10. Well, I've already watched it twice, and the drama is short and sweet so it's perfect for a quick watch. I'd rather watch this than any movie out there because it just gives me movie vibes anyways.

Yes, I would definitely recommend to anyone, whether old or new BL enthusiast. I usually stick to Thai BL's and am not willing to explore but when I heard about this and how great it was meant to be I watched it as soon as the drama had finished airing (I hate waiting for the next episode to drop). And I have no regrets.

'Until We Meet Again' is a Thai BL but it gives the same vibes... except the characters met much earlier than you think... they don't only have a past, they have a whole generation they went through (can that be classed as a spoiler? oops-)

a lovely series that showcases how good Taiwanese BL can be
Zhou Shu Yi has been fighting to be number one since middle school. He's highly intelligent and an excellent swimmer, but he always comes up short behind Gao Shi De. When he goes to one university, and Gao Shi to another, it's a relief. Finally he can be number one. Until , that is, Gao Shi transfers to the same university, and their rivalry starts all over again. But is Gao Shi really out to beat Zhou Shu just to be annoying? Or does he have another reason?Spoiler alert - yes, he does. He's been in love with Zhou Shu for most of his life, and beating him is the only he can keep Zhou Shu's attention. When Zhou Shu's two best friends declare their love for each other, leaving Zhou Shu upset and a little lost, Gao Shi steps in and things progress from there.
The pacing for this story is consistent and fluid. Nothing drags, nothing feels like filler and no scenes are wasted. indeed, sometimes there are scenes that are too short and some things could do with extra attention, but everything still works well. There are no nonsensical sound effects and no blatantly obvious and out-of-place product placements.
The acting is excellent, especially by the two leads, and their chemistry is sizzling. When they finally kiss, it's with real passion. You can practically see the steam rising off of them. This probably shouldn't have surprised me as much as it did, as I have noticed that so many Taiwanese actors who do BL don't have a problem with the more intimate scenes. I've yet to watch one where I got the impression any of the actors were uncomfortable. If they were, they didn't show it at all.
This is exactly the kind of BL I like to watch. The plot is simple, the acting is great, the pace is perfect and the soundtrack is wonderful. It's a sweet and fluffy series with some angst sprinkled over for drama's sake and a happy ending.
It is absolutely re-watchable, and I highly recommend it.

A nice, story, worth a watch. Cant wait for S2!
Though i did feel like the last episode seemed a tad bit hurried, it was still better than a few other BL series I've watched, and ITS SO WELL PRODUCED, ACTED AND SCRIPTED. One of the best works of the writer, the dialogues are plain, at the same time meaningful. It has easily captured the way college students might love, simple yet deep. Huge shoutout to the cast, they have done an AMAZING job at portraying the characters, and i felt like their style of acting fit the personality of every character we meet. It's worth the time, and will definitely leave you wanting for more.In all, i would HIGHLY recommend it, especially if you liked the HIStory series, since the writer is the same on who wrote for a lot of HIStory's works. Honestly the story was quite simple with conflicts that are also not too heavy, but with good quality acting, this series cannot be denied to be completed in one day (or max 2 days) 😁
The accompaniment of beautiful songs in the ears adds to the feeling of interest in this series becoming even more brutal.

One of the best short bl series
I have seen a lot of BL series now some of it has a long episodes but the story are just the same. The pacing of the story of most of the BL Series is that you have the long episodes of slow story and then rushed part the climax and then a happy ending but this series is different the story is not too slow and not too rushed the timing is everything. It was short knowing it only has 6 episodes but the story was explained and well portrayed, the story wasn't rushed. The main actors acting is outstanding and their chemistry. There is no category to give less than 10. I just activated MDL only to rate this bl series. This is on my list as The series that can rewatch without getting bored. The plot is beautiful the cast is woaaah. Main actors rocked it. No cringe scenes. I love it love it love it. I wished if it had more than 30mins. Their acting is like drug to me. I can't stop watching and I can't wait for the season 2. I have already watched this 6 times yet I didn't get bored. This is how you should make dramas. Best of luck for the characters and the crew. HANDS-OFF TO ACTING
Goshhhh!! I feel so overwhelmed right now. It's been indeed long time I felt this way. I totally stopped watching BL because every Bl series started to cringe specially Thai Bl series and I always found myself dropping series at 1st or 2nd EP, can't bear to watch more but wtf what's this turn over? Main thing to know about this series is THIS DOESN'T CRINGE AT ALL. I clicked this lazily cause I was bore and it pop-up right there in next line on WeTV app. But I anticipated more story and finished the series with total satisfaction, the feeling I couldn't get for long. I remember the last time I felt this was when I watched History 3 Trapped, it was 6,7 month ago. Myan I totally recommend this, the actors performed so realistic acting, it was like I'm watching live from straight out of Mangas. Such feelings and expressions.AND AND they make so good looking couple together.
How long has it been I came to MDL? Damn this series got me writing reviews in the middle of the night when I've work tomorrow . Such an emotional lady. Feeling so good, only regret is it ended and this is only S1 and I've to wait for S2 damn.
