It’s trapped. Overhyped!!!

Every social media… fans talk about only how lovely story, their chemistry, aesthetic vibe, fashion king n queen… blah blah…
I was really interesting they made fashion competition posts with MD and previous seniors thus why I dived into it.
I was not super excited about plot and story as my kdrama journey was since 2000 and I have had thousands of good experience and memory.
omg… it is not drama, but Paris fashion week with awkward outfits. 20 minutes is enough to explain 16 episodes story.
What I most regret thing is I believed MD fans recommendation abt fashion. Actors wardrobe are sponsored or forced to wear by team, I don't get it. Sometimes ML wore Ajimma style and he looked like ready to dance Idol vibe, not Demon 😵‍💫. Really love his all boots, it is super.
I am only one who noticed that may be, FL some dresses were super long and over size coat, not fit with her. The most sadness thing is FL made her hair-do only 3 styles the whole drama. why why???
I would like to recommend 3 fashion GOAT (my list) if you really want to taste K actress fashion devils, they slayed - from hair to toe every minute.
1. Jun Ji Hyun - my love from another star
2. Seo Yea Ji - it is ok not be ok
3. Seo Yi Jin - CLOY
(I got it now, fans have not allowed negative comments or opinions whatever at MD post. It is starting a war.) ✌️

This was a wonderful series, and I really regret that I stopped watching it earlier. The plot pulled me in completely, and I wasn’t disappointed even a little. The relationship and chemistry between Do Do-hee and Jeong Gu-won were amazing and addictive, and I would love to see even more episodes of their story — obviously the happy part. Their personalities and his character development (in a positive direction) throughout their relationship were portrayed very well.
On top of that, all the side characters were well written and clearly distinct from one another. We had mentally disturbed characters (mainly Noh Seok-min and Noh Do-gyeong), who were brilliantly acted — interesting and terrifying at the same time. Their close ones, who suffered because of those disorders, were also portrayed well, showing the consequences and how it affected them during and after. There were also lighter, comedic characters that added humor to the show and briefly pulled it out of its seriousness (like the “Wild Dogs” gang or the relationship between Shin Da-jeong and Park Bok-kyu).

I found only two downsides, which didn’t really affect my overall rating anyway. First, I’m curious why Noh Seok-min became such a monster. Did he have any reasons that led him to develop mental illness — just like his son did because of him? One could assume not, since the series never gave us an answer.
The second issue is the lack of development of Ki Kwang-chol’s character — more specifically, why he was also manipulated by Noh Seok-min and involved in that sick situation.

I have to say that I didn't start this drama for its actor, unlike the other comments, and I watched it because of the strong script and the rating that was 8.7 at the time, and I can say that I was attracted to the series and also to its couple, which I think have a very good chemistry.
In my opinion, it was a great process until the 10th episode, and this does not mean that the next 6 episodes were not good, but it did not reach the first 10 episodes.
And its happy ending made me very happy and I hope that Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung will really become a couple in the future.

Stunning Lead Couple with Great Chemistry (Very light spoiler which is called out)

Spoiler Start
I think this is a 9 rating show on the merits, which is great. But I am going to give it a 10 because we got pretty much a whole episode of happy to wrap things up! They didn’t just give us happy for 15 minutes at the end like so many dramas. Thanks to the writers and director!
Spoiler End

What can you say about the lead couple. They are so cute and have such great chemistry. They both did an incredible job that made this drama work. I’ll watch anything with Kim Yoo Jung in it because she is so beautiful and has such an incredible smile. And, yeah, she is an awesome actor as well :-)

The story was fun and a bit different so I enjoyed it even thought fantasy is not really my thing.

My recommendation is watch it for sure!

Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung --> the perfect visuals

Kim Yoo Jung, Yeo Jin Goo and Kim So Hyun, for me, are my little three Musketeers. The three little stars of the Moon Embracing the Sun, and I watch them grow up through drama all these years. They hold a special place in my heart and I want them to be the best of who they are. And all these years, I saw Yeo Jin Goo and Kim So Hyun, whose acting improved over the years, but sadly I feel like Kim Yoo Jung, hasn't found her perfect role yet. Her last dazzling performance was Love in the Moonlight, but after that, I felt like she never fit into her roles in dramas.

Sadly yet again her characters didn't fit well with her role as Do Do Hee in the drama, My Demon. I saw her effort, but sadly it fell short of my expectations.

My Demon, the drama overall is interesting and fun but at the same time lacks substance, the depth a drama should have. The story was quick to come to conclusions and didn't manage to bring out anything of value to anything.

The ONLY thing that I have to praise is the amazing visuals brought by Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung. The couple was the only thing that got me salivating for the entire 16 episodes. Although the two lack chemistry and the awkwardness was obvious from time to time, the dazzling visuals when these two are together just blew my breath away.

My Demon ❤️

My Demon was one of the best dramas in 2023 it had everything in it I enjoy about k dramas. Song Kang and Kin Yu Jung was perfect together they had amazing chemistry together which made the drama even better. All the actors did a wonderful job. This drama had everything i enjoy about kdramas it had romance and beautiful scenery plus a happy ending together. This kind of roll really suits Song Kang he is a amazing actor I realky liked him in Neverless and know like him even more. Kim You Jung she has always been my favorite female actress since I started watching kdramas. I hope they will do a historical romantic drama together as the ML and FL wuth a happy ending together. I do not have and negative thjng to say avout this drama abd I will mist definitely rewatch it.

peaked at the dance fight scene and it went downhill from there.

seriously though I found the "murder mystery" extremely uninteresting and predictable.

Dohee and Guwon were cute to watch together and I enjoyed seeing Lee Sangyi. I did not like how they wrote Gayoung, she felt like an annoying addition that just wasted time. The connection between Guwon and Dohee and her parents felt weird and forced.

Overall, this drama was terrible but it didn't really do anything that was not seen before.

this was such a fun watch i love it sm. i had started watching this abruptly i had no plans of watching this after i had finished love next door (given it took me so much time to finish love next door) nevertheless i finished it so fast and im so happy i did
my demon i ofc about jung guwon a modern day demon who has his own way of living. he meets do dohee who is an up and coming chaebol and has her own company. they keep meeting due to circumstances and fall into a contract marriage eventually falling in love
i loved their dynamic sm, apart from sweet home i believe this is song kang's best work. i would love to see him in another ceo comedy drama he looked so handsome and it suit him so well. they looked perfect with each-other and i would be happy if they were cast together again tho that is a very rare occurrence in kdrama world
this is the perfect romcom with just the right amount of mystery

Well paced and with interesting ideas

Honestly, I think the pacing and the structure of this drama is one its strongest points. With a lot of dramas, they simply run out of plot halfway through, making them boring and hard to finish. This one, however, spreads the plot points out pretty well, so there's always some drama or loose end to look forward to resolve next.

The last episode ties everything really nicely. Other positive aspects are the OST, which is very emotional, borderline melancholic, with a special shot out to Say You Love Me. The acting is also solid. As someone who watched earlier works of Kim Yoojung, it's nice to see her evolution. Song Kang also manages to imprint a lot of charm to a character that might who, otherwise, could easily be considered annoying and callous (at the beginning, since as the story progresses he shows some loser energy that I rather like). The both of them have a lot of chemistry together, too.

The drama does touch on important but delicate subjects, such as domestic violence, class discrimination and child abuse in a way that I can appreciate. Although charcaters like Dogyeong and his mother, despite having done terrible things and facing the dire consequences of their actions, still receive some sympathy in the last episode, after all, they were also victims of and abusive father/husband.

I think the drama has some interesting concepts as well. The way God is portrayed is very interesting and refreshing, as more of a neutral being who's there to acompany hmanity on our journey rather than interfere. Although they play with the idea of fate, I appreciate that the writers also highlight our choices are what makes our fate. The whole implementation of demons and Christian concepts is cool, not something I've seen much in dramas before. The endings the characters get feel very much like some sort of divine or biblical retribution, the "punish the wicked and reward the just" sort of thing, which makes sense with the religious themes.

I had only some minor gripes with the drama as a whole. Honetly, the fact that everyone seems to be made of titanium and simply refuses to die bothered me quite a bit. People are involved in car accidents, explosions, jump from buildings and still somehow survive. Also, I wish the whole demon lore would've been better explored. Guwon seems to be the only demon to exist, except he's only 200 years old and the concept of demons has existed much before that. Also, how come demons were once humanity's guardian's and suddenly became entities to tempt them and send them to hell? What changed exactly?

The female rivalry was also extremely annoying. It's such a tired concept, please. At least Gayoung got a redemption later. I think sometimes the drama makes the characters a bit dumb just to propel the plot forward. Dohee gets multiple attempts on her life, and she still walks around alone just so the culprit can get to her. But, honestly, these negative points are, mostly, minor things and didn't damage my experience much.

Also, can I just say, Seokhoon is a cutie and I'd totally watch a drama where he's the male lead! If the story was about him and Dohee I'd have liked it just the same. At least he got a good ending. The endings in general are very satisfying, I think. So this drama is definitely a big recommendation to everyone!

For casual stress buster and butterflies and light mood

I am a give fan of this drama I mean sometimes I don’t want much drama or 6 episodes for anyone of them starting to notice other Yes they do take time building reln but what I mean is constantly a bit affection from both sides and them getting close is shown. SPOILER ALERT ! !!!, see now when title is taken from her she doesn’t chase and many episodes in how to get title back etc it’s focused a bit on there dynamic than that of more common CEO chasing position from enemy dynamic that’s why I loveee it

Heartwarming and Different

My Demon starts as a stylish and quite different series. The two leads are both independent and confident and really have little time for each other, resulting in some fun sparring. As the series progresses, their character and their story play out showing the fate that binds them. The story is a very moral one and is full of twists and turns, with a surprising ending.

The cast are the absolute stars of the show with Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang playing their hearts out with some very real chemistry (which will have you reaching for your phone to see if they're an item in real life). The supporting cast are really great too with a special nod to Kim Hae Sook as Madam Ju.

The cinematography and musical score are the icing on the cake. Very stylish and very well done.

Personal Rating:
Story: 10
Acting and Cast: 9.8
Music: 9.9
Cinematography: 9.7

Overall: 98/100
