Well paced and with interesting ideas
Honestly, I think the pacing and the structure of this drama is one its strongest points. With a lot of dramas, they simply run out of plot halfway through, making them boring and hard to finish. This one, however, spreads the plot points out pretty well, so there's always some drama or loose end to look forward to resolve next. The last episode ties everything really nicely. Other positive aspects are the OST, which is very emotional, borderline melancholic, with a special shot out to Say You Love Me. The acting is also solid. As someone who watched earlier works of Kim Yoojung, it's nice to see her evolution. Song Kang also manages to imprint a lot of charm to a character that might who, otherwise, could easily be considered annoying and callous (at the beginning, since as the story progresses he shows some loser energy that I rather like). The both of them have a lot of chemistry together, too.
The drama does touch on important but delicate subjects, such as domestic violence, class discrimination and child abuse in a way that I can appreciate. Although charcaters like Dogyeong and his mother, despite having done terrible things and facing the dire consequences of their actions, still receive some sympathy in the last episode, after all, they were also victims of and abusive father/husband.
I think the drama has some interesting concepts as well. The way God is portrayed is very interesting and refreshing, as more of a neutral being who's there to acompany hmanity on our journey rather than interfere. Although they play with the idea of fate, I appreciate that the writers also highlight our choices are what makes our fate. The whole implementation of demons and Christian concepts is cool, not something I've seen much in dramas before. The endings the characters get feel very much like some sort of divine or biblical retribution, the "punish the wicked and reward the just" sort of thing, which makes sense with the religious themes.
I had only some minor gripes with the drama as a whole. Honetly, the fact that everyone seems to be made of titanium and simply refuses to die bothered me quite a bit. People are involved in car accidents, explosions, jump from buildings and still somehow survive. Also, I wish the whole demon lore would've been better explored. Guwon seems to be the only demon to exist, except he's only 200 years old and the concept of demons has existed much before that. Also, how come demons were once humanity's guardian's and suddenly became entities to tempt them and send them to hell? What changed exactly?
The female rivalry was also extremely annoying. It's such a tired concept, please. At least Gayoung got a redemption later. I think sometimes the drama makes the characters a bit dumb just to propel the plot forward. Dohee gets multiple attempts on her life, and she still walks around alone just so the culprit can get to her. But, honestly, these negative points are, mostly, minor things and didn't damage my experience much.
Also, can I just say, Seokhoon is a cutie and I'd totally watch a drama where he's the male lead! If the story was about him and Dohee I'd have liked it just the same. At least he got a good ending. The endings in general are very satisfying, I think. So this drama is definitely a big recommendation to everyone!

A BEAUTIFUL MASTERPIECE.
I have no words for this drama. It was beautiful and told a fantastic story. It has the perfect mix of romance, comedy, action and mystery/thriller. There were times when watching this drama that I laughed, cried, smiled and was left at the edge of my seat.I understand this may not suit everyone's tastebuds or reach everyone's expectations but it's worth watching. It gives off 'Destined with You' vibes but this is better. 'Destined with you', is great but I wish it delved into the fantasy genre more whereas, 'My demon' dives into fantasy just enough.
The main characters:
?? ?? ???:
Kim Yoo-Jung is the perfect actress for this role. She's incredibly talented and knows how to portray any emotion perfectly. Her visuals are amazing and she's gorgeous. She depicts Do Do Hee as a hardworking and diligent, self-made chaebol who often blames herself for things that are not her fault.
????? ?? ???:
Song Kang did well playing out this character. Maybe not his most impressive role. He depicts a demon whose existence is built off of looking down at insignificant humans. But everything changes, once he meets Do Do Hee. He starts to adore these insignificant humans.
??? ?? ?????:
Jo Hye Joo flawlessed this role. She managed to make me hate AND like her character. At first, Jin Ga Young is a jealous, second female lead. She's annoying and gets in the way a lot. But then, we start to see her miserable backstory, and why she adores the ML. In the end, she accepts the FL and ML's relationship and wishes them happiness and saves a child who was experiencing the same abuse she was.
?? ???? ????:
He wasn't very annoying and you could tell he deeply cares about Do Do Hee. It was great that he never betrayed her, and that he ended up as the chairman.
?????:
- Kim Yoo-Jung and Song Kang have amazing chemistry and they both have great visuals.
- Many twists and turns imo, that keep you hooked even until the last episodes.

My Demon. My review.
Soo Good. Loved every episode. It is a somewhat unique story line of fated Loves and the trials faced to be together all interlaced with a few mysteries from past and present for our characters.
The whole cast is amazing from main leads to our villian(s) to the supporting charaters. The visuals of Song Kang & Kim You-Hung are well matched in every scene. Amazing soundtrack!

Who thought we'd all be cheering for a demon?
A series where the numerous glowing online reviews actually do live up to the hype. An interesting and original storyline, beautiful acting, and amazing chemistry. What else could one ask for?I personally never thought I would be cheering for a demon and yet here we are. The series is so well-crafted that it makes us sympathise and feel for the one character we always thought we'd hate. The love story is intriguing and heartfelt and leaves one wondering how soon can the re-watch start. It was a pleasure to watch.

brand new old

Enjoyable but very forgettable.
I'm not going to lie, I enjoyed this k-drama, but I think its biggest problem is that it's very forgettable. On one hand, the chemistry between our two main characters is good and it shows on screen. This show certainly doesn't let Song Kang's physical attributes down lol.
However, what I probably didn't like much was the plot, which in itself is not very innovative in the fantasy genre, it takes us back to past lives again, and reminded me a lot of Doom at your service and Destined With You and so many other kdramas, almost as if all of the fantasy Korean dramas had a child. For that reason, I think this show is easily forgettable.
Although I repeat, I'm not going to lie, I did enjoy it, but I wish they would have omitted so many things that I could tell were plot fillers and added very little from my perspective, and most of the characters were not that well written.

It was a surprising show!
Not, because the plot isn't predictable. Even tho there were some elements that actually surprised me, but there are shows that are even tho they're predictable, it's still fun, have a real meaning. My Demon is not the best show on Earth, but they didn't complicate the story too much, didn't stretched out anything for no reason, like many Kdrama does. Basically every character is lovable, funny, and the villains are not 2-dimensional.
The writing isn't the best, but it's consistent, there's no unnecessary drama. Everything that the characters are doing is understandable. The chemistry between Kim You Jung and Song Kang is top-notch, every actor did their best. Honestly, it's quite surprising that most characters actually developed into a better one.
The best part, at least for me, is that there's no stupid love drama, no crazy love triangle or anything like that. The past life story was great too, but it could've been a bit longer.
I LOVED how Ga Young's story "ended", her character development is probably the best!
Like I said, the show surprised me with some of its twists, but overall it's still predictable, but this is the prime example when it can't ruin the enjoyment.
I loved the message of the show as well: Nothing as simple as you may think. Everything has two sides.
I think, this is the meaning of the show.
This show deserve the hype for sure, but don't expect too much, this is just a good, thrilling show with well-written characters and love story.

Not bad but not good
It's an easy watch, no need to use your brain at all. Probably a good way to destress.Plot
The writing is not amazing, but it's not so boring that I would drop it. As other reviews already mentioned, it's a mix-and-match of your favourite typical cliches. NOTHING AGAINST CLICHES, I like them.
Cast
Amazing visuals from the main cast, Song Kang and Yoojung, and they have amazing chemistry in my opinion (I mean what else can I say?) Acting is great.
Music
Amazing setlist omg, I would totally add the OSTs to my Spotify playlist. The opening theme is catchy and well. Tiktok speaks for itself.
Rewatch value
Rated it kinda high because I think it's really easy to just throw this on and enjoy it.

i love the series and i would fully recommend it.
i normally dont watch kdrama with romance when its one girl and one man as often the girl is made in a way I don't like. but in this series she was shown as an independent woman from start. even if the body guard thing maybe makes her own power less but I feel like it didn't take away how she is. i fully recommend watching it. i will rewatch it one day. Its my fav kdrama romanceWas this review helpful to you?
It grew on me
I'm glad I watched this show. I don't know why because it's full of tropes and some moments or plot points weren't convincing – some parts were laughable because of how convenient they were to the plot. I wanted to drop the drama after 2 or 3 episodes but I kept on watching because I love the two main leads and every show they've been a part of.And SOMEHOW the things that annoyed me the most about the show (exaggerated "charicature comedy" like with the butler and the employees, KYJ not really fitting her "cold CEO" role IMO, trope after trope, not that strong of a chemistry between the two leads...) slowly improved. I probably just matched my expectations to what I was watching and got used to the style of the show. Once I accepted it for what it was it got better and I ended up enjoying many aspects, such as how the main leads evolved over time as individuals and in their relationship, the suspense that was predictable but still fun to watch, the relationships between the "villains", the play with the ideas of good and evil and the aesthetic of the show. I'm glad I had time to binge-watch it though because I would have dropped it had watched it as it came out or couldn't skip forward certain parts.
And how stunning are SK and KYJ? Like damn, they suit each other so well TT

Review from all aspects
Overall it was a nice drama to watchIt reminds you of how dramas used to be when you first started to watch dramas . It's a very standard plot , they met something happens and you see how they deal with the situation and then the end . It has it's comedy part and it's nice ost and music. The romance was a bit " intense " at first but it went on smoothly ( which put me off a bit , but that's my opinion). As for the action part it was nice but I have watched better stuff (personal opinion here) but you may like it . The acting was goodd and the outfits were perfect. Furthermore you could tell that the cinematography was about to be professional.I would rate this 7/10 only because there was no big plot twist that would make the story a bit more interesting. It's a nice smooth fantasy romance so I think you should give it a try since you don't have anything to lose.
