LOVED ITTTTTT

Honestly this show was so goooddddd. I was recommended to this show from my friend and it was the first k-drama I watched and I watched it again twice. I highly recommend this show. Song Kang's acting is 100% on point and is so gooooddddd!!! The story line was great but I feel like they could've elaborated on action than romance and yes it did have a lot of action but im the type of person that loves watching action packed dramas with a bit of romance and don't really like romance overpowering action which in this drama it was overpowering. But overall I really loved it.

I finally decided to watch this drama. Villains are overtly vicious. Demon who we believe the worst evil ( No pun intended) can’t do much and seems too humane.
Then in the last couple of episodes, the priest revieled what he heard in a confession . This is an act which can get him excommunicated from the Catholic Churches elsewhere for good. So I am guessing it is another church that only Koreans go to worship. Any Christian priest would never reveal confessional details to another individual. Except maybe under duress to law officials under extremely exceptional circumstance. So I am thinking did the story teller did enough research on this story details . Is that why it’s a mismatch of most popular K drama’s shown before. It’s watchable. Nothing special. I always watch Kim You Jung’s dramas . She has the best chemistry with any ML that’s for sure.

This one wasn't it for me.

I liked the premise. But towards the end I found it to be dragging a bit. It felt like too many murderers were involved in the plot line.

I've come to the conclusion I'm not a Song Kang fan. When I see him interviewed he seems like a nice person, but most of his acting roles I'm not drawn to his character. When he's trying to be whimsical, romantic or silly he seemed so stiff and unnatural. When he was trying to portray being arrogant and aloof that also didn't seem to come naturally. The only times that it felt to me like he was really in character was when he was trying to be the most threatening or bad version of his character.

And I know culturally Korean fashion differs from where I am, but I feel like the costume designer had it out for Song Kang, because so many of his outfits the cut, the color, were so unflattering. That turtleneck in the last episode for instance. And there's one early episode where he's wearing a tan jacket that has a spot of blue tape on the back for quite a few scenes and no one caught it.

I hadn't seen two of the supporting characters in roles before - Lee Sang-Yi and Jo Hye-Joo, and I found myself hoping they would be in more dramas, because they both were a little unusual looking in a way that made them interesting to watch.

I'm not sure why he disintegrated when he did, because he didn't kill anybody. Also he didn't come back as human, so he's just going to hang around while she grows old and dies and he doesn't? That's kind of depressing.

I can't see myself ever rewatching this again in the future, and it's not one that I would recommend.

The esssence of what made k-dramas popular... maybe.

Cliché vomit, exposition vomit, and scenes with strange framing that just go unnoticed.

I am no saying it is horrible at all, it works with the aspects of his own genre in the standard way possible. Predictable climax, ending, protagonists, subplots and behaviors you will find in different stories combined into one. The main problem is the lack of weight; there are no real consequences. The script that makes the story shallow, the kind anyone could write.

I could easily enjoy the mediocre chemistry of the lead couple besides their acting. Yoo Jung and Song Kang looked like they were only face and voice sounds, none of it felt real at any moment. Their acting was strongly regular, but it's not good enough as the script does not help. We could maybe blame Korea's production pace; nevertheless, it's way too naive. Some couples do have hard times developing on-screen chemistry, but... I don't follow Yoo Jung's work much, so her performance here is the only reference I have, and I'd say it's average. As for Song-Kang, he's done better work, definitely not one of his's best performances. I just can't stand it when they insist on giving him such easy roles that lead to the same old thing.. . The rest of the cast met general expectations: nothing remarkable.

If not, it also could be only the sript's fault and they did it better. ;-;

Overall it's a 'lazy afternoon drama' for when you want to be less critical and sensible. That 'so-so' we like sometimes. It has a good idea which makes the beggining cool, unlike the rest of it.

I don’t have enough words to describe how good this drama is!

One of the most beautiful and unique dramas I have ever watched. It’s insanely good. Unreal visuals. Insane chemistry. Unbelievably good story and original sound track. The OST is in my playlist on repeat.
It’s beyond beautiful, emotional, magical, and powerful. It casts a spell on you. It lingers on your mind for days. It pulls you in from the very first episode and doesn’t let go until the very last one.
This is my opinion (so be kind) - it does not compare to any other k-drama (Goblin, Abyss, Doom at your service; which are all good). It’s beyond good! It sets the bar so high… It’s original. It makes you laugh, cry, gasp, experience heart palpitations and bunch of other sensations and emotions…

one of the best dramas I watched, definitely worth the time

The show was boring at first I didn't like that and all the characters seemed very weird especially the beggar, even in some point I wanted to drop it but after episode 15 it became interesting after ending I seem to love it because of the ending. in most dramas they end it with so much confusion and doesn't show the happy part but in this drama everything is clear and they showed happy part of the drama. I always wanted a drama that shows the happy part and doesnt leave to many question. and that's the one. I wanted to give 6.5/10 but now 9/10 absolutely worth the time.

FANTASTIC!!

it's an extraordinary mix of love and anxiety. i loved it. from the music to the cast and the acting, everything was wonderful!!

when i saw it i never expected such a masterpice. i liked that in addition to adding a bit of fantasy , they added a bit of thriller, making you anxious and making you hate the "bad guy" of the situation, an example is the character noh do kyung: making me hate him and then having him die in a heartbreaking way was a low blow.

Good acting but the plot was draggy. It would be better if it cut short to 10-12 episodes.

My Demon is a RomCom Kdrama about a demon who makes a deal with a human during a crisis in exchange for cutting their lives short after it ends.

The Synopsis:
DoDo Hee is the successor of the Future Group. She doesn't trust anyone and is cynical about love. DoDo Hee gets involved with a demon named Jung Gu Won and makes a contract marriage with him.

He can live for eternity by making dangerous but sweet deals with humans who endure hellish lives. But after looking down upon humans for 200 years, he gets involved with Do Do Hee and somehow loses his power. He must protect DoDo Hee, who has taken all his power to prevent his extinction.

My Reviews
1. The acting is good, especially the main CP. There are too many supporting cast that it was not necessary.
2. There were too many repetitive episodes. It would have been better if it ended in 10-12 episodes.
3. It had a good message about evilness, and the choices that one makes may have consequences where they refuse to accept or have remorse about their actions.
4. It has some good, laughable scenes.

Overall, it was a decent drama, and I enjoyed it. I gave it a 7.5 rating.

Eye candy with some splendid visuals but some flaws in writing and pacing (especially in 2nd half)

This drama is about the encounter between strong heroine/chaebol Do Do Hee (who runs her own company among some family dissession regarding the group succession) and very charming, powerful Demon Jung Gu Won who makes dangerous but very tempting deals with humans.

I truly enjoyed the first half of the show but it unfortunately lost a bit of steam in its second half. The writing is full of great ideas, there is a mix of genre which is really well done and the set up and characterization is quite strong for a lot of the protagonists. Unfortunely, the pacing is not good and the series can feel sluggish at time with the central plot not moving very fast and a lot of gimmick being repeated to seemingly "fill" time. Instead of some fillers scenes, I would have preferred some fat to be trimmed from the story: the same story could have been done in less episodes (or shorter episodes) in a more dynamic way. I also regret a bit that the ending did not adress enough certain questions important for the future of some of the characters, after a very strong start and entertaining first half, the latter part of the drama felt a bit weak.

Fortunately, despite some of the flaws in the writing/pacing, there are a lot of very entertaining elements that makes this series an entertaining watch. I love both the female lead and the male lead: their pairing worked very well, they were beautiful together and a lot of their scenes felt very dreamy (and almost like an ad for perfect couple). Song Kang (playing the Demon) is really the king of visual in this !!! Let's be honest, he is a real pleasure to watch, his acting was good and he really elevated by just his presence the eye candy factor !!! Kim Yoo Jung's acting as Do Do Hee was very good and I cannot wait to see her in other works.

The production value was amazing: the clothing, the decors, the style and directing were all top-notch. There was a lot of details that made the fantasy elements feel very real (the office of the demon, the book, the clocks,...so many details helping in the world building). The fight and action scenes were convincing and there was some pretty iconic moment in terms of filmmaking. The OST is pretty great as well with the intro song really beautifully opening each episode.

I would recommend this to people looking for a high production value rom-com with some fantasy elements. Despite some flaws in the writing and pacing (especially in the second half), the casting, directing and filmmaking make it worth it. I was mesmerized by the decors, the clothing and the visuals of both male lead and female lead, they really brought a dreamlike quality to their relationship. If you enjoyed drama as "My Love From The Star", you will likely enjoy this.

My Demon is a very good and fun to watch drama. Although there are many scenes that are relatable to other dramas, the cast did a great job bringing their characters to life, This drama is a fantasy romantic comedy that, even if it drags here and there, it is enjoyable to watch. The connections from their bloody past and the darker components of their thrilling present are set forth within the fantasy element of the supernatural forces of good versus evil and the endurance of a steadfast love that transcend time and circumstances. Even though the comparison with other dramas is difficult to miss, My Demon delivers a nice love story from past to present lives and there are some really good twists to keep the amusement going. The cast in the drama did a great job of bringing forth their characters’ storyline and the leading couple has a delightful playful aura and great romantic chemistry. Even if the drama is clichéd, it is very entertaining. Enjoy it!

"우리 모두는 서로에게 파괴자이자 구원자이다."

I was fighting off the desire to steal all the Gu Won's wardrobe till the end, especially that fuzzy white cardigan.

My Demon is a beautiful homage to Doom at your service and Goblin with a light sprinkle of Succession/Penthouse.
🔸️With the K-drama industry becoming more diverse and less dependent on its progenitorial techniques in the recent years, I'm sure the fans are yearning for those goofy nostalgic and lively projects. My Demon is exactly that energetic romcom that preserves all the best tropes and kdrama traditions on top of having a great chemistry between the leading actors, and it doesn't cross the line of being cheesy. I mean, Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jeong are both so attractive, "but who should I look at, is it Shang or Mulan?"©

🔸️The story doesn't break any expectations but meets them closely. A cold supernatural being unexpectedly falls in love with a human - and here goes everything you'd expect from such a story - funny misunderstandings, love contracts, break-ups "because my presence harms you", extravagant habits of the male lead, the villain pursuing the female lead, past lives in Joseon, and so on. But there are also many touching side plots, like the one of Jin Ga Yeong who was saved by Gu Won as a kid.

However, the most definite weakness of the writing would be excessive borrowing from more successful dramas, like the dissipation scene from Goblin or the "charging" from Doom At Your Service. I didn't feel anything in the climax BECAUSE I'VE SEEN IT ALREADY almost shot-by-shot identical in another drama with the same result.

🔸️That said, My Demon is still absolutely worth watching of you want to enjoy the authentic kdrama dynamics between the main characters and the supporting ones like "from enemies to lovers" of the two hilarious secretaries, or Gu Won's most faithful mob army, or the funny colleagues in Do Hee's company.

For me, the most interesting character is Do Gyeong. His story is more multifaceted than you expect, and the actor Kang Seung Ho did an amazing job with his performance. 박수!👏🏻
