Revenge is a dish served with a dumb romance plot

This show wanted to be like Revenge of Others and it couldn’t meet that standard.

The “revenge” dies halfway through the story because he “fell in love” with Jae-i, who happens to be involved with his brother’s death. But no! Let’s get distracted from our revenge plot for this girl AND feel bad for her and her friends.

Boo-hoo, womp womp, no one cares.

Nothing irritated me more than the bullies getting away with everything, the school still standing, and her being like “I did like you but I want my psycho boyfriend who bullied your brother to his death.”

None of these characters are likable and have such shallow depth with no character development. The only satisfying part was the teacher being arrested (which was barely satisfying).

I don’t know what they were thinking when writing this but it’s terrible. The cast and set couldn’t even save this bad writing. Why’re you trying to make me feel bad for these stupid rich kids?

Like I get the miscarriage, the emotional abuse, and the manipulation they went through but the writing is so shallow I couldn’t care about them. Penthouse had me caring for the bullies because they wrote them in a complex manner to care about them and understand why they were bullies.

Kang Ha sitting with He-ra at the end boiled me to the core like do you have no care in the world about your brother?

Chan-mi did it better and got the boyfriend but she stood on her business!

What a waste of my seven hours. I had to put it in 1.5x speed to hurry up that nonsense.

The actors are good in the eyes

If you like Sky Caste & Heir you would also like this one, they have the same vibe but it has a darker side. It becomes the battle of the rich and famous. You become famous and powerful if you are wealthy enough. It also tells the life of a rich kid, its not ony a glam life there is also some disadvantages wherein your life is planned already, your parents will decide on what to do with your life without asking your point of view they olny did what they think that is best for you, you opinion doesn't matter to them.
This drame focus to reveal the dark side of the school and wht really happens to his tein brother. He decides to enroll on that school to take revenge on what they did to her twin brother. As he was closely revealing the truth the revenge never happen because there was love involved, he is slowly develops feelings for her. And many more secrets have been revealed, and he finds out what really happens in that accident that killed his twin brother.
I have to praised the SL although he is such a red flag in this drama he also has a charming face thats keeps me an awe, and his performance is superb.
Can't wait for the next season .

I quite enjoyed the drama

I quite enjoyed the drama and it is not clear why it is condemned and it receives such bad reviews, it is a bit like an American drama, it is true, after all, it is a Netflix production. I don't understand why the viewers should compare it to other dramas. I think that beyond the plot, (which is not bad at all) there are some difficult social criticisms in it, concerning the humiliating attitude of parents towards their children, the humiliating attitude of the rich towards the poor, the humiliating attitude of teachers towards students and the humiliating attitude of students towards students (and this is seen in many Korean dramas. They all bring everyone to the edge of their mental endurance.
Maybe because I am also a mother of twins, the story touched a sensitive chord with me. ..it's also not clear why Netflix doesn't mean that in episode 7 after the subtitles there is another and very significant section for the end of the series ..that many viewers don't notice and think that the drama ends with the leading woman arriving at her mother's house?? The series had a great soundtrack, the actors were great...all in all, not a bad drama at all and since Netflix defined it as a "limited series", I guess there is no second season and it's a shame, because it was left with another murder that you can hardly understand who was murdered (perhaps on purpose) and the end open, and has the good man become the bad man?

Idk what everyone is on about in the reviews section. Honestly it wasn't that bad for me. The teacher-student relationship was a little out of hand, and the ending with Jeong Jae-I not choosing either Kang Ha or Kim Ri-An was a little disappointing, I expected her to make a choice to stay with one or the other. The visuals of the cast were honestly quite good. They all did a really good job with some really great shots of the scenes as well. A little thing is that it ended with such a huge cliffhanger. And as someone who hates cliffhangers, this put a little annoyance into my mind. With no Season 2 or continuation, I feel like the ending was unsatisfactory with not all the strings tied up and conflicts resolved. All in all, I don't think it's as bad as all the reviews are saying it is, but after all this is just my opinion. (Ignore my rating for music, unless it's really good I just put a two for everything)

Bad ending but overall really good

This kdrama recieves so much hate, and although I can understand why, I do think that it is actually really good.

Firstly, I think a lot of people are upset about Jaei not choosing Kang Ha but honestly by the end of the kdrama I was so sick of him and actually I realized that Rian is sort of sweet. In my opinion, Kang Ha thought that he was the victim, even though everyone was going through something. Yes, Rian is supposed to be horrible and mean, but I think he was right for Jaei, and Kang Ha was just a bit arrogant.

The story didn't exactly make complete sense, but this was one of those kdramas where it didn't really matter too much. I was just watching for the charcters, not really the main plot. I know this is very controversial but Woojin and Jisoo were actually my favourite couple and I cried so much when Woojin ended up with Hera.

The problem with this kdrama is that they left the story open and finished on a cliffhanger, where someone was murdered, which made it seem like there was going to be a second season, although there is no news of that.

I would really recommend this kdrama, and I have already told ALL my friends to watch it, and see what they think. Yes, there may be clear issues with the story and some people are unsatisfied with how it turned out for Kang Ha but I still think it is such a masterpiece.

Flavorless

It had potential start, but came crashing down so fast. Felt like the whole series something was about to happen but at the end nothign really happened.
Story wasnt written well, and it's like 10 different western teen shows combined, but also it's giving nothing.
Jae-i's actress had very blunt and bad acting, chemistry wasnt there with literally anyone.
Honestly it felt like he-ra's actress was the only one who knew how to act and suited her character.

Only words to describe the show is flavorless and tasteless.

Well the music and cinematography was good, but couldnt save the show.

Expensive budget but poorly written

It has a good revenge plot to begin with but the overall premise is technically worthless and an absolute high budget mess, the way it looked like some made up espionage school drama just feels really dumb, and many of the scenes were extremely cliché as if it was intended to be so. The storyline undeniably had some great conflict points that worked quite effectively, but it's incredible how awfully the script was written, character designs are monotonous and the silly dialogues are even more annoying. The only good part will be Lee Chaemin's standout acting performance, for his first lead role he definitely packs some impressive skills on screen, though that's about it while this drama might come down to be the most pretentious kdrama of all time.

Don’t watch whatsover; A waste of time

Show was a mess: multiple things rly frustrated me.

1. The main plot was murder mystery but the murder got put on the back burner and it became more of a melodrama of rich kids and their complicated parents and lives.
2. how can you come for revenge for your brother and end up falling in love with the enemy. It really pissed me off, a brother was not standing on business.
3. The teacher-student relationship was gross and did nothing for the plot. Babes rly was just screwing student and got a free birkin bag. It did NOTHING for the plot.
4. I feel like plot twists are necessary for muder mysteries but you can’t be romance twisting. One moment I can’t be thing the FML is gonna end up with KH then the next minute RA. There’s no consistency there, and realistically feelings tend to be consistent, you can’t be pulling strings with romance like that that’s what you do with the plot.
5. 6 episodes in I checked to see how many episodes were left and I couldn’t believe it was only one. The plot was very stagnant for episodes then rushed for the last one. Again, a MESSS.
6. The only true character I saw that was not worthy and well written was He Ra. Her character development from the beginning to end you could really see it and how it fleshed out. It may not have been in a positive way but it helped with developing some type of storyline. Her bickering with the FML was really one of the main things carry this messy drama.
7. Overall, just don’t watch it’s not worth your time AT ALL

GOOD DRAMA !!!

Don't listen to people here. There are many Americans and English people who just have the rage that HIERARCHY have taken up a little their trademark in their series for idiots. I can tell you that this drama is great because the Koreans came out of their comfort zone and gave us a show that does not have the usual clichés! It was a very difficult shooting for all the actors and they put a lot of energy into this project. Criticism is easy but in reality most people here have no idea what a work like this drama represents. Not to mention that it is DRAGON STUDIO, the best kdrama production of all time. You disrespect everything for everything and anything. I think that most people here should question themselves about the viewing of the dramas because they didn't understand anything.

THE drama explores above all trauma rather than revenge. It has a beautiful production and a beautiful cinematography and soundtrack. I highly recommend

I kinda like it though

To be honest I like the story and the plot ,the cast I wasn't really sure after hearing the reviews of the drama but I started watching and and I found it interesting some places their expressions were not matching it was tough to understand that what do they wanted to convey but that's completely okay
it's pretty good story with the satisfying ending I want expect much from any other drama

Pretious drama, not much to watch

They probable spent a lot to take this drama, but not that good. The story is good BUT progression of the story could have made it more mysterious and thrilling. Looked kinda pretentious of coling up with the hierachy system like the drama Pyramid Game but does not even level up to it even close. They tried to cut short the ending or something, that it felt all happening at once. I felt like they could have switched the actors of Kang han and the powerful guy from joosin.

i became really excited to watch a new revenge kdrama but it got so boring and i was just forcing myself to continue on,,, like i literally did not care about the boring romance going on there… yeah i guess they were cute and you could have a little romance here and there BUT IT FELT LIKE THE WHOLE THING WAS JUST BASED ON JAE YI, RI AN, AND KANG HA LIKE WHAT IS TJIS A ROMANCE DRAMA OR REVENGE DRAMA?? 😭the only reason i stayed was because of the cast erm.. lowkey wishing that the kdrama can get interesting and better if they end up getting a season 2 AND ALSO am i the only who doesn’t really like hera and woojin as a couple orrr.. girl i didn’t even really like kang ha and jae yi
