Worth it.

Guess I'm in the minority based on other reviews but I loved it. Yes, it's yet another chaebol story, but it's a really good one. Tight script, great acting (with one exception), satisfying plot twists. It's shot really well, great background music, and the true nature of these characters will keep you guessing. There's a decent amount of depth and "who's really behind what" is hard to guess ahead of time. And it's only seven episodes so it's very streamlined. It's a great weekend binge.

failed in the proposal, protagonist forgot his goal

*English is not my first language, I'm sorry if it is confuse

okay, first of all, I had a lot of expectation on this drama, the proposal on the beginning was really interesting but as the story unfolds, it looks like de protagonist forgot what he wanted to do. I really like jae-i but I think that when kangha fell in love with her it mess everything, that was a romance that wasnt necessary. On the beginning, kanga was really willing to take revenge but he gave up of everything because of her and that doesn't make sense because he wanted to revenge for his brother right? he just give up of fuck with the lives of the guilty of his brother death just because of a girl?? that makes me feel upset. other thing is that I think this drama was really slow, there was a lot of things that could be used for revenge, Woojin's relationship with the teacher for example, but that was just thrown away, even with such a good opportunity to do something interesting

Giving my final considerations, I really liked this drama, but it certainly could have been much better. this had such an incredible proposal at the beginning that it got lost as it unfolded. I'm looking forward to part two, I hope revenge really is done

boring and not worth watching

I started watching it for the female lead and I watched it with 2x speed and skipping some parts to finish it , it’s so boring and lame definitely not worth watching . They spent the budget on the production and luxury brands and forgot the story and acting !
I thought there would be hope in the next episode but no each episode is worse. there is no conflict and intensity to the plot . and didn’t fully show us what are the consequences for their actions. the chemistry is Zero for all the actors and their emotions are faked.

Common

Bit disappointed about this drama.
Was not what I was expected at all, the name heirarcy, the trailer before the drama was released, was expecting some high scenes, playing, more suspense, thriller, actions, revenge plays like was expecting something else not 'some quarrel love'.
From the start not totally but small bit of Elite the serie, like the school, control by rich student and bullied the scholarship ones.
Then, what that!!!!!!
Start to change to Love Alarm, true beauty!!!
Like we all knows what happened why we mostly dislike these 2 dramas.
I don't want to spoil anything
For those who have watch, right we want the same thing like, the right one to end with the right one.

Don't know what will happen,
Since the ending, and the giving rise to season 2 or part 2.
Hope season 2, is much more better, and for what was our expectations.

Studio dragon is one of the best studio, produced awesome wonderful kdramas, but netflix start to damage some.

Very messy.

The actors did their roles great the story is just purely bad. It's really really really boring it did not meet my expectations at all. I only kept watching to find out who the killer really is. Is it worth it no? If you really enjoyed it congrats but this just a waste of budget. It has so many potentials unfortunately it turned out this way.

All that shines isn't gold.

Hierarchy offers a unique glimpse into the world of South Korea's elite (well, the unreal one, of course), set against the backdrop of a prestigious institution founded by the powerful Jooshin Group. With a compelling premise and an ensemble cast of striking characters, the series promises a blend of love, friendship, revenge, and compassion among eighteen privileged students. However, despite its appealing aesthetics, overall solid performances, and memorable/addictive soundtrack, the storyline falls short, leaving viewers with a sense of emptiness.

Visuals and Soundtrack:
The visual appeal of Hierarchy is undeniable. The high production value is evident in the stunning cinematography, which captures the grandeur of the school and its elite lifestyle. The OST is another highlight, perfectly complementing the drama's intense and emotional moments, enhancing the viewing experience.

Characters and Performances:
The cast delivers commendable performances, bringing depth to their characters. Roh Jeong-eui is okayy as Jung Jae-i, the queen of Jooshin High School. Lee Chae-min, as the new scholarship student Kang Ha, brings a mix of charm and mystery, keeping viewers intrigued about his hidden motives. Kim Jae-won portrays Kim Ri-an, the successor to the Jooshin Group, with a pretty-much convincing blend of ambition and vulnerability. Ji Hye-won’s portrayal of Yoon He-ra captures the essence of jealousy and ambition, while Lee Won-jung as Lee Woo-jin offers a refreshing mix of visual appeal and kindness.

Supporting characters add layers to the story. Kim Tae-jung as Choi Yun-seok, the school's top fighter, brings intensity and loyalty. Kwon Eun-bin, Seo Jun, and others provide solid support, enriching the narrative.

Storyline and Execution:
While the premise of Hierarchy is intriguing, it falters in execution. The idea of a school divided by elite status and scholarship students sets up a dynamic plot filled with potential conflicts and alliances. Kang Ha's quest for revenge against those responsible for his brother's death introduces a gripping plot. However, the narrative struggles to maintain coherence and depth. The pacing feels inconsistent, and certain plot points are either underdeveloped or rushed, leaving gaps in the story.

Despite the strong character development and backstories, the series often feels like it is treading familiar territory without offering fresh perspectives or twists. The dialogues and interactions, while engaging, sometimes fail to deliver the emotional punch necessary to elevate the drama. This results in a series that, despite its high points, lacks a certain resonance, making the overall experience somewhat hollow.

Conclusion:
Hierarchy has all the ingredients for a standout drama: a high-stakes environment, complex characters, and a captivating premise. Its visual appeal and soundtrack are top-notch, and the cast delivers strong performances. However, the storyline leaves much to be desired. While it offers moments of brilliance, the series ultimately falls short of its potential, leaving viewers yearning for a more cohesive and impactful narrative. For those intrigued by high school or guilty pleasure dramas, Hierarchy is worth a watch, but be prepared for an experience that, despite its surface appeal, may leave you wanting more.

Okay so alot of bad stuff happens in this show bullying, abusive father, etc.. but what gets me is as the story progresses nothing actually stops it or fixes it. It lacks the feel good underdog triumph. Basically going nowhere.

Cinematically, the director was on point. Hit the angles and lights and bla bla. I cant hate on that but the show is anticlimactic and leaves you wanting something more.
Im on episode 7 now andI liked it at first and had hope but now i hate it. I dont like how the relationship of the main couple is so toxic and narcissistic. The female lead just walks around being mysterious and broody and the centre of attention. Typical storyline. This male lead (the rich one not the scholarship kid) is an asshole who disguises all his bad behaviour under the love for whatever her name was and she just lets him..she knows all the bullying and stuff he does and she just lets him. I love the scholarship kid but it doesnt seem like he's going to win well we'll see. Its all over the place ?‍?. But safe to say i really hate the story arch of the main couple.
Scholarship guy is hot and courageous. Hes the reason i kept watching. He dont shh from nobody. At first i was like meh but his i dont care sense of confidence sold it.
Anyway I love a good underdog story

cliche

I could already name 5 turkish dramas with the exact plot after only watching 2 episodes. Roh Jeung Eui's acting abilities were nonexistent, despite doing well in 18 again. There was no chemistry between the main leads and they were all dull. The only thing I liked about this drama was the fact that Ji Hye Won was casted for the role of He-Ra. Although she is a rookie actress, her acting and visuals are superior. Hoping to see more of her projects in the future. Also, I don't know who was singing the OST, but I loved their voice.

This is actually good, but don't expect greatness

Despite the reviews that do not match their ratings I believe an approximate 7-8 fits well ( MDL users will give it a 7 and call bad )

The show tries to mimic western teen PG16 shows, call it a PG euphoria/Elite while taking aspects from the lately released Revenge of Others and Bitch x Rich.

The plot opens up quite well, your main character is smarter than he appears and the people around him don't see that early. The whole premise of scholarship student in a mega rich school was done in Bitch x Rich but unlike that show here there's a bit more depth to it here, I felt several times that the rich kids are not actually flat when it came to hating scholarship students on the defense that their parent paid riches to enroll them while a group of kids get in through academical grades only and although that doesn't warrant the hatred shown you would have to look through the eyes of the sheltered spoiled kids to understand that their complaints make sense....for them atleast who see the world as money money and money.

The bullying was surprisingly fresh, the antagonist is not evil going around torturing kids like most shows but instead I was sold on the simple concept of the powerful not having to do anything to establish a hierarchy. The kids have so much fear and respect for the antagonist that they become obedient and ready to destroy anyone that annoys him while he just walks away. Most bullying scenes involve his lackeys getting riled up to prove they're powerful while the antagonist shows his lack of care because power is power and does not need evidence at every minor inconvenience. Ri-an's lack of interest is as merciful as it is merciless, by ignoring he spares the kids around him but by ignoring he also lets the bullying continue, a hierarchy is a sharp sword.

The female lead being weak was one of the show's slower points, her trauma and suffering made for a more packed drama but her development took far too long and was not quite fruitful in many areas. I would have loved to see her with the courage to stand up to her family at earlier points in the show, but somehow I believe her maturity shows up well in the show especially in what she deems important to protect and how she protects it...not fit to own a conglomerate but is definitely strong enough to protect what's hers from anyone even the likes of her father as shows in her last couple scenes.

The love triangle DID NOT EXIST for the love of god, people on here might be slow I've noticed. From the beginning the FL was trying to protect the ML and he was trying to get closer to her to figure out the truth as shown many many times, were feelings caught in the process? yes. was there ever an intention of a romance? no they made it obvious they have bigger concerns. Both Leads are so kind-hearted they mistook each other's actions for romance briefly but again the shows us how un-interested both are in moments of clarity. She was not about to dump her 15 years since childhood soulmate for a random kid she just met and he was not gonna go for the girl who was majorly responsible for that major accident that he's put his blood and tears into investigating. Their relationship in the last 3 episodes was one of the best parts of the show, they care for each other as two kids who bonded through trauma but they also let each other know they got important shit to fight for and protect even if it means harming each other. That is just beautiful and for people here to mistake it for a stupid love triangle is sad.

All this rich shit isn't really over the top, if kids like me drank and partied every other week in high school and iam from a middle class family iam pretty sure a girl whos daily allowance can shoulder a family of 10 will get into parties like that, and there'll be alcohol and drugs it really is not that weird. The kids are pretentious though, rightfully....i mean who wouldn't if u showed up to school in a fucking Maybach owned several super cars and had school club activities that costed 30 thousand dollars to take part in AS A KID

All in all everything is done right, but nothing is done great. The acting was mediocre, the plot was decent, the characters were hit or miss, the production/direction/art was absolutely fantastic....the cinematographers were in their BAG.
Extremely appealing show on the eye and the ear, you go in for a fun time but you're not leaving with anything memorable. a perfect 7.5... 8 cause the actors are so beautiful, seriously Roh Jeong Eui I could not stop staring ma'am god bless you., Kim jae won too that's one handsome bastard.

NOT BAD BUT NOT GOOD

I liked this drama to some extent but It is really hard for me to understand what is KH doing. Is it a romance or a revenge drama?
so much ambiguity. Waiting a whole year for this drama, was not worth the wait. I believe our time was wasted and the exhilaration I felt for this drama was invaluable.

A life story

First let me say I hate school bullying stories. With that being said, I was somewhat surprised by this one. If you take the time to immerse yourself into the two main characters, you will find a complicated story of love, betrayal and vengeance. The story is really about Jae I and her life. The side stories and even the influence of Kang Ha only help define her story. I found her life poignant and painfully sad. A controlling father, a narcissistic sometimes brutal boyfriend, and a school broken by all moral standards are enough to alter the path of any normal young person. Her tenacity to survive this onslaught of emotions is a tribute her strong character. While I could have written a different ending, I wasn’t disappointed in the one I watched. I think Roh Jeong Eui did an excellent job portraying Jae I.

I expected more from this drama

This drama promises you a lot: mystery, kissing, sex, scandal, bullying,..... but this kdrama is not that interesting because of the first 3 episodes. the other episodes are really a bit boring.

what I like.

1). Background Music: The background music was catchy and perfectly conveyed the emotions of each scene. Overall the BGMs were very well done.

2) Ending scenes of each episode: Each episode ended on a high note with scenes designed to get viewers excited

3) the clothes that the people were wearing were really beautiful, every scene also looked expensive, I think they worked hard to make this kdrama.

I didn't like this very much.

1) 1 episode is a bit too long. namely 1 hour which is quite long for 1 episode.

2) Was there even a plot? this drama is a bit similar to the Elit series. The love triangle was pointless and the murder mystery, while initially intriguing, ended predictably and unsatisfying. This show is a perfect example of a beautiful outside without an inside.

3) I expected Jung Jae I and Kang Ha to become a couple, but unfortunately that wasn't the case.

I do recommend watching this kdrama because it is not necessarily boring or fun.
these are the reasons why i give this drama a 7 out of 10.
byeee :)
