One of the best dramas in a very long time
I honestly recommend watching this drama. I have been struggling for a very long time to find good dramas. I feel like the past few years there weren‘t many great dramas, but this is seriously one of the best dramas in a while. I might even say the best I have ecer watched…When I saw that the Drama contains 40 Episodes, I was scared to start it, since a lot of times the storylines get very boring and I have to skip through the episodes. But this drama was exciting and nerve wrecking through and through. Every episode, every moment was always great to watch and I seriously could not put my phone away. This show was seriously thought through. I especially love the female lead. She is just so lovable and very rational. Every minute you fall more and more in love with her. Her and the male lead are a wonderful couple. No unneccessary drama, no childish fights. This was a very mature and enjoyable couple. There were a few couples in this show and they were all great. There is so much I could say, but I will finish up by saying: Out of all the dramas I ever watched, there are only five that get a 10/10 rating from me. This gets 11/10. i am in love.

Blossoms in Adversity — a Topnotch!
First of all, I really don't have that much to say to this drama. It's just that the storyline was unique and it caught my attention. Then, the acting skills were above the average. Zhang Jingyi being the competent and independent female lead "Hua Zhi", gave so much representation that we should be calm and decisive in times of hardships. Plus, Hu Yitian played the role of Gu Yanxi is also a superb as he is so protective; they're a perfect match. That's why, this drama is so recommended to watch!Was this review helpful to you?
A PURE GEM ヾ(◍’౪`◍)ﾉﾞ♡
Historical series "strong woman" with Hu Yi Tian as ML and Zhang Jing Yi as FL, with a touch of mystery/investigation.+ a super cute CL, with great chemistry. One of Hu Yi Tian's best roles, where he abandons his "cold" or poker face appearance, and his micro expressions are brilliant. His fighting performances are impressive ヾ(◍’౪`◍)ﾉﾞ♡ I also really like Zhang Jing Yi (discovered in “Lighter and princess) who brings to life a fantastic FL.
+ All the actors are excellent and bring endearing characters to life. I really appreciated the Sen Huan & Sao Yao couple, very refreshing.
+ Coherent, realistic, intelligent story. No useless love triangle, no lasting misunderstanding... That's good!
+ Fast, skillful production (all the knowledge of Chu Yui Bun, distinguished director) with the right balance of suspense, action, romance. The slow motion effects on Yanxi's arrival scenes are excellent. No length in 40 episodes, it's rare! I enjoyed every scene.
+ Very good OSTs
SOME LITTLE FLAWS:
- the CGI is sometimes too obvious (somewhere low quality). For example, 2 small sails for a "cargo" boat, ... Also the number of dolphins following the boats, is completely unrealistic and spoils the effect.
=> A series that I will certainly rewatch with pleasure in a few months.

Série historique "strong woman" avec Hu Yi Tian en ML et Zhang Jing Yi en FL, avec une touche de mystère / investigation.
+ un CL super cute, avec une great alchimie. Un des meilleurs rôles de Hu Yi Tian, où il abandonne son aspect "cold" ou poker face, et ses micro expressions sont géniales. Ses performances en fight ont impressionnantes ヾ(◍’౪`◍)ﾉﾞ♡ J'aime aussi beaucoup Zhang Jing Yi (découverte dans "Lighter and princess) qui donne vie à une FL formidable.
+ Tous les acteurs sont excellents et donnent vie à des personnages attachants. J'ai beaucoup apprécié le couple Sen Huan & Sao Yao, très rafraichissant.
+ Story cohérente, réaliste, intelligente. Pas de love triangle inutile, pas de malentendu qui dure ... ça fait du bien !
+ Réalisation rapide, habile (tout le savoir-faire de Chu Yui Bun, réalisateur émérite) avec le juste équilibre de suspense, action, romance. Les effets de ralenti sur les scènes d'arrivée de Yanxi sont excellents. Pas de longueur en 40 épisodes, c'est rare ! J'ai savouré chaque scène.
+ Très bons OST
SOME LITTLE FLAWS:
- les CGI sont parfois trop évidents (pas de grande qualité). Par exemple, 2 petites voilures pour un bateau "cargo", ... Surtt, le nombre de dauphins qui suivent les bateaux est tout à fait irréaliste et gâche l'effet.
=> Une série que je regarderai certainement avec plaisir, à nouveau, dans quelques mois.

Surprise!
I stumbled on this drama when I was bored and decided to start watching as the 6 first episodes were in. I had no expectations as I went in blind since the story seemed interesting and I'm always happy to watch a strong competent FL.Now I'm oh so happy I chose it, the scenario looks well written, the scenery, costumes, the music, the cast all look great, for now.
The first episodes are a blast and I can't wait to watch the whole story. I'm just afraid their eye candy facet gets too much attention compared to character development and emotion.
Now I have a lot of hope for this drama but I'll be adapting the wait and "watch" approach, I'll come back at the end to update should there be any change.

Im loving the flow of the story overall! Episode 7 really caught my heart TT (It was this scene where hua zhi realized that the older women and the old man servant were looking for her and TRULY cared enough to look for her because she has always felt ignored by others..) although I'm still not halfway yet, the story is already heartwarming and is giving me alot of wisdom and learnings! The actress really suites Hua zhi so much! I've known her ever since her old series called "Fall in love" was released! In the story, everyone's lives (such as the wives) were realistic and both sides were shown including their flaws (made me mad sometimes lol) and experiences in life which were quite eye-opening. Everyone's small backstories (mainly the women in the family) were seen too so im very interested in how these group of women would turn out to be at the end of the story.. I can't wait for more episodes already (especially the romance hihi)!Was this review helpful to you?

I would have given this series 20 starts if I could. My all time favourite Chinese drama is Lighter and Princess, and I was excited to see Zhang Jingyi star opposite Hu Yitian. I have liked a couple of dramas with Hu Yitian as the lead, so this drama seemed promising right from the actors they had cast. The story was interesting from the very first episode, and I found it very hard to keep waiting for new episodes to air, the wait was very frustrating. That said, now that I have finished watching all 40 episodes, I feel this series will stay number 1 for me in the period drama genre for a very long time. The cinematography, the acting, the direction with attention to details, the great onscreen chemistry of the leads, the character sketches….there are so many things that made this series a worthy number one! The story revolves around Hua Zhi and her effort to keep her family alive and together after the male members of her family are exiled by a sceptical king. The way she handles matters was not only awe inspiring, but also heroic. She always kept the interest of her family first and through genuine sincerity and her down to earth demeanour won people and situations over. All through her hardships and difficult times, the one person that remains by her side, was our male lead Gu Yanxi, initially because he was impressed by her grit and resolve, but ultimately because of their love for each other. There is so much positivity in this series, and so many lessons to learn, I can keep going on about the love and trust the main leads share, and the way they handle the situations they are thrown into, never once doubting each other and always being there for one another. The pairing of Shaoyao and Shen Huan was a very sweet one and they did full justice to their screen time, leaving me wanting to see more of them. Each and every actor performed beautifully, I can keep going on and on about how every character was beautifully sketched and performed. My all time favourite modern drama will always be Lighter and Princess, but it would be hard for another show to beat Blossoms in adversity in period drama genre for me. Zhang Jingyi is a phenomenal actress who is equally great in comic, emotional, romantic and angry scenes, and her hard work shows in her dramas. Hu Yitian is another amazing actor who is an expert in stoic, angry as well as romantic expressions. A big thank you to the entire team of BIA for bringing this superb show to us!! très belle série
Quand votre monde bien rodé et parfait s'écroule, allez-vous vous en sortir ?Le début de la série est un peu un scénario catastrophe, avec des femmes qui ont été oisives toute leur vie qui se retrouvent sans rien ! Mais L'actrice principale est très intelligente et débrouillarde ! Saura-t-elle se sortir des pièges et des gens qui vont la bloquer ?
A cette situation qui va évoluer sans cesse, s'ajoute de belles histoires d'amour, notamment entre les deux acteurs principaux.
C'est un amour pur, sans mauvaise compréhension, il y a bien sur des obstacles mais externes, entre les deux le courant passe toujours.
La production est bien, les costumes et bijoux sont à la hauteur. Le rythme est aussi bien, on ne s'ennuie pas.

The beginning of the series is a bit of a disaster scenario, with women who have been idle all their lives finding themselves with nothing! But the lead actress is very smart and resourceful! Will she be able to get out of the traps and the people who are going to block her? To this situation, which is going to evolve constantly, are added beautiful love stories, notably between the two main actors. It's a pure love, without misunderstanding, there are of course obstacles but externally, between the two the current always passes. The production is good, the costumes and jewels are up to scratch. The pace is very good, and you never get bored.

Güçlü, Akıllı bir Kadın ve Harika bir Senaryo
Senaryosu, konunun ilerleyişi her şey o kadar tadında ve sıkmadan ilerledi ki 40 bölüm içinde sıkılarak izlediğim atladığım bir bölüm bile olmadı.Hua Zhi'nin güçlü karakteri, yaşadığı zorluklarla mücadele ederken daha da olgunlaşması vs inanılmazdı. Yan roller o kadar güzel seçilmiş ve onlara da zaman ayrılmış ki hepsinin üzücü ve mutluluk verici güzel sahneleri vardı. Yan Xi'nin kardeşinin değişimi, yine aşçı kızın kendi ispatlayıp güzel bir evlilik yapması. Üzüldüğüm tek karakter Rong'du. Ama onu seven ve sonuna kadar ona sadık olan bir eşi vardı, yine şanslı biriydi.
Başrollerimiz zaten inanılmaz uyumlulardı. Sarmaş dolaş sahneler olmadan bir dizide romantizm, uyum ancak bu kadar güzel sağlanabilirdi. Birbirlerine olan aşkları gözlerinden okunuyordu. Güçlü ve akıllı başroller ile mükemmel bir senaryo birleşmiş. Açıkçası diziyle ilgili her şeyi çok beğendim, inşallah çokça tarihi dizi çekerler birlikte.

Protagonista feminina incrível
Acho que nunca vi uma protagonista tão generosa, bondosa e determinada. Simplesmente carregou o drama nas costas, me fez ficar ansiosa para que ela alcança-se seus objetivos todas as vezes que traçava um plano. Espetacular, simplesmente sem defeitos, eu a amei do início ao fim. Muito resiliente , e uma jovem de bom coração, sempre disposta a a ajudar a quem precisa. Para além disso, uma líder nata. Incrível como ela assumiu sua família tão jovem e foi capaz de tirá-las da miséria em que foram largadas.O protagonista, para além de lindo, me irritou um pouco; se não fosse seu rostinho bonito, eu com certeza iria o detestar. Em alguns momentos eu o odiei, pois ele era um fantoche do imperador, o que foi um fator crucialmente conflitante para que ele e a protagonista ficassem juntos. Sei que não havia muito o que ele fazer, mas em diversos momentos onde o imperador deveria ter sido morto ele atrapalhou os planos. A Zhi também se intrometeu algumas vezes, mas eu relevo para ela.
Os papéis secundários foram maravilhosos, as servas (e depois não servas) da Zhi eram incríveis, me apaixonei por cada uma delas. Passei raiva com algumas tias, e com a mãe de Zhi, mas durante o desenrolar elas se mostraram uma família incrível e acolhedora. Me entristeci muito na morte da avó de Zhi, chorei muito quando a Imperatriz Viúva compareceu ao seu funeral. Foi de cortar o coração. Me cortou também o coração a morte da Rong, apenas uma jovem cheia de vida, esperando um neném, e encontrou um destino trágico. Eu culpo o marido dela por ter a levado para longe da família e a inserido em sua família suja, mesmo que ele soubesse de tudo que acontecia e de como seu pai era um crápula.
Não sei se o casal principal teve muito química, embora achasse os momentos deles fofos, acho que o drama tinha como foco principal a Zhi e sua crise familiar, o que eu amei, nada melhor do que ver mulheres se apoiando e ganhando suas vidas sozinhas. Foi realmente incrível. O assistente do nosso protagonista também me deixou com uma leve quedinha por ele, o achei fofo. Achei muitas pessoas fofas hahaha o Sr Sheng também, gostei muito dele e com certeza irei atrás de trabalhos do ator. No mais, para mim, é um 10. A ost é INCRÍVEL, que abertura linda, músicas maravilhosas. Daqui uns anos, espero rever. Assisti com a minha mamãe, e ambas amamos muito o drama. Daqui uns anos, quando reassistir, lembrarei dela.

esse drama retrata e aborda assuntos importantes como o machismo na sociedade em acreditar que é preciso ter um homem da casa para poder 'cuidar' das coisas, quando nós, mulheres, também podemos. uma coisa que eu achei interessante é refletir que esse preconceito não existiu durante somente as dinastias e o tempo antigo, como também durante a lei de filho único na china onde os pais se livraram/evitavam ter filhas mulheres porque segundo a tradição somente um filho homem iria cuidar da família e administrar o futuro da linhagem; terem abordado um assunto como esse de forma madura e sem romantizar ou fazer que no final a protagonista feminina seja dependente do protagonista masculino e excluir toda a história da protagonista para fazer o casal, isso me deixou mais animada ainda para continuar assistindo.a protagonista é forte e determinada, não se faz de tola e sempre tenta confiar em si mesma, no começo eu tinha um pouco de raiva das mulheres das famílias, mas com o tempo enquanto assistia vi o quanto elas evoluíram e se tornaram fortes e independentes, elas implicam com a personagem principal no começo por terem enraizadas com o pensamento machista, mas depois juntas elas se começam a confiar a si mesma e umas nas outras, mesmo com as brigas, elas sempre estariam ao lado de sua família. elas foram abandonadas, mas juntas se continuaram e começaram tudo do zero, não abaixaram suas cabeças e mesmo com a zombaria da sociedade, elas não desistiram um segundo.
confesso que eu não foquei muito no casal, mesmo que tenha vários momentos e seja o principal do drama, eu achei mais interessante a singularidade e temas abordados, mas o casal é muito fofo! eu gosto do fato que o protagonista masculino mesmo que no começo minta para a protagonista, sempre confia nela e não tenta 'mandar' nela.
a protagonista feminina e todas as mulheres desse drama foram incríveis e as principais do drama em si para mim.
