doesn’t it live up to the hype ?

I have watched 12 complete episodes and parts/videos/comments for like 13-16, well I pretty much watched more ep 16 because of curiosity to see how this will end.

I will talk about this as a BL in general, not in term of omegaverse.

Like it was an okay watch I guess… but I don’t consider it good. I don’t really get how there is so many 10/10

The pacing wasn’t good to me, it felt quite dragging. I mean with this it felt like nothing much happened in many eps, which bored me and I don’t know, it didn’t felt quite interesting to watch. And honestly, didn’t felt much the main couple falling in love🤷‍♀️also, felt like HY went a bit too far at time. you are gonna saw that this is his character or whatever, I have seen my share of some red flag, but I have an exemple in mind that was too much for me.

there was definitely some bad editing, could have been better with a different team

the acting wasn’t good from everyone. Chemistry was okay

still gonna give some points for the efforts of the team and the actors, also some did good in term of acting and there was still some enjoyable moments I guess. I think it takes some courage to act in a BL like this considering how it is in China and these poor guys suffered some hate, bullying, etc…

the ending was fine for the main couple.

second couple… they were barely seen and there was no conclusion, confession, etc... what was the point of their presence if it’s gonna be like this. Shen Wen Lang was so stupid, it was annoying to watch. Unfortunately the actor felt like the weakest compared to the other 3. At the beginning, I was feeling quite bad with Ga Tao’s situation. Anyway, this couple was a waste. Felt like they had a more plausible fondation with the fact they went to school together and have known (and actually saw each other all the time) for years. Don’t get either much those who said they were only watching for them, they gave pretty much nothing

Not related to the story, but some people need to chill regarding a FICTIONAL STORY AND CHARACTERS. The comments section was a mess here at time and elsewhere the actors getting attacked and hated…. like c’mon.

So, to conclude, no unfortunately, I don’t think it lives up to the hype. If you wanna watch something different and omegaverse story, then go for it

Love Won, but Not the Way I Hoped

Just finished ABO Desire and honestly… mixed feelings 😭

The first couple (Hua Yong × Sheng Shao you) got their happy ending, and I’m satisfied with that. it was sweet and wrapped up nicely.

But the second couple (Shen Wenlang × Gaotu)… sigh 😩 I really wished the director gave them more. They technically did get a happy ending, but it didn’t feel satisfying enough. They followed the novel too closely, I hoped they’d change it up a bit and give Wenlang and Gotau more happy moments together.

Also, they barely got any screen time 😭 like hello?? they were my fave couple more than the main one! The ending felt kinda rushed too. After three years of separation, they just met, hugged, and boom - open ending. I was expecting at least one kiss 🥹 but fine, at least we got that hug.

Overall, it’s a good drama but the pacing near the end felt rushed. Still hoping we get more stories like this soon 🩶

Quick review on each pairing

-If you like HuaSheng pairing (Enigma x Alpha) I TOTALLY RECOMMEND YOU THIS DRAMA, it's almost a perfection, their story is beautifulllll. And the pair will make you go🙈aahhhhhhh🙈💕
-If you like LangTu pairing (Alpha x Omega) just forget it, it's not for you at all, they're basically a "guest" appearance which is a great disappointment with very minimal screen time. Their story were mostly very angsty😢They were barely mentioned in the novel yes, but the drama CUTS A LOT from the novel which is worser. And their ending will leave you baffled.
//Story & overall I gave 7 because the story too rushing & the "guest" couple were horrible executed
//Acting no doubt all is almost perfect especially the omega actor, he stood out the most probably because he's the veteran actor in this drama. -1 cuz there's some cringy part like fight scene but it doesn't affect much! It's applaudable still!
//Music: 10/10 nuff said
//Rewatch: it's kinda poorly executed imo but I would rewatch of Enigma x Alpha✨

Didn’t Expect to Like It — But I Did

This is only my second time watching a BL drama. The first one I ever saw was the Thai drama Love in the Air, which I actually enjoyed quite a bit. So when this one popped up on my Viki feed under new releases, I decided to give it a look.

At first, I wasn’t too interested. The whole alpha, omega, beta, and enigma thing honestly confused me—I didn’t really understand it and thought it might be too strange for my taste. But after checking MyDramaList and seeing all the positive reviews (and some comments saying the two secondary male characters deserved more screen time), I decided to give it a shot.

It took me two days to finish, and while the beginning was a bit unclear—especially regarding the second male lead’s character—I stuck with it. By episode 9, things really started heating up between the two main leads, and I was hooked.

Hua Yong’s love for Sheng Shao felt real and determined, almost like soulmates who just couldn’t give up on each other. Even though Hua Yong made mistakes and went about things the wrong way at times, his feelings were genuine. He always assumed Sheng Shao was running off with other omegas whenever he went into his rutting stage, but that wasn’t true. Hua Yong was actually Sheng Shao’s first, and his desire to mark him came not only from love but also from wanting to save him from the poison in his body.

Their relationship went through a lot of lies and misunderstandings, especially due to Hua Yong’s desperation to keep Sheng Shao close—but in the end, they found their way back to each other and became a happy family.

As for the other two male characters, their story was full of missed chances and unspoken feelings. I really wish the show had explored their relationship more because there was so much emotional depth left untapped. Their ending, to me, felt bittersweet—good for the main couple, but a little sad for the side pair.

All in all, I’m glad I watched it. The alpha-omega world still feels a little odd to me, but without it, the story wouldn’t have had the same spark or intensity.

It's very hard to rate this drama

Overall, it's super hard to rate this drama because I have very mixed feelings about it.
I never read anything about omegaverse, so I came in as a newbie. I don't mind the omegaverse at all and was quite interested except for how it sometimes just looks like r*pe and it's uncomfortable to think about. So I believe it's more about portrayal than the omegaverse idea itself.

In my humble opinion, the manipulation part drags on for way too long, and some of the manipulations tactics by Hua Young are very close to, if not straight up, disrespectful towards real abuse victims. Especially since this, specifically, didn't feel 100% necessary to the plot. Because of this, I had a hard time liking Hua Young for a long time. However, from the moment he came clean, it was a mischievous and fun character to watch, and I could fully appreciate Hua Young's actor's skill. I wish I could have seen more of his real persona earlier in the drama.

Then there is the second couple. As much as I like the main couple in the end, I started the drama because I really wanted to see the second couple's development all the way through. I don't mind them having very little screen time, since the main couple is entertaining enough ; however, it was truly disappointing that they didn't get a real conclusion. I would have liked just one more scene of them just talking for once in the whole drama, and I wouldn't have felt that disappointed lol.
Tbh, as is, Gao Tu could have not existed and it wouldn't have changed much in my opinion. Like, don't get me wrong I love Gao Tu and this is why I feel that way ; Gao Tu and Shen Wen Lang's plotline was cut so short that it might as well have been completely absent from the drama.

The ending of the drama overall was cut way too short or in a weird way so that it felt like there would be a next episode.

Anyway, there are multiple parts I didn't like, in this drama, but other parts were still entertaining enough that I finished it quite easily. This is why I can't rate it neither really high nor low.
I think there are many things that could have been better, but I liked it enough that I still want to rate it a bit high to encourage the BL Drama world to try and portray more special and unusual stories like this.

Bittersweet Ending!

I really enjoyed the drama overall, but I’m quite disappointed with the ending. I expected more since the story started off so great. As it approached the ending, it became somewhat disappointing.

The first couple's story was compelling, and they ended on a decent note. However, the second couple received less screen time and had an unsatisfactory ending.

What bothers me the most is the rushed ending. It felt like they were running out of time and hurried through all the important scenes, especially the reunion between Gao Tu and Wen Lang.

The story had wonderful potential, and if they had paid attention to certain details, it could have been an outstanding omegaverse series.

Hua Yang why you gonna be like that ?

For all who enjoyed this show good for you
I did too till I learnt from the novel that there’s grape from the mc 🤦🏽‍♀️
I can’t possibly root for someone who continually deceives and hurts the person he claims to love so much.

SPOILERS FROM THE NOVEL
Imagine your bf being tormented 😫 thinking you went through hell that you were gang graped and he did everything to rescue you from that hell only for it not be true just a part of your ploy to get your bf madly in love with you.

Copy and pasted comment left by someone on the novel:

“May this type of love/lover never find me.

Hua Yong, you’re a deranged bastard!”

With that I’ll be dropping it
Too bad I love Chinese 🥺☹️😩
But I can’t stand unrepentant grapists and terrible people that think can get away with anything and still justify it because they’re doing it cuz they love the person,

Good but could be better

I am a huge omegaverse fan, and after the disappointment that Pitbabe was, I was so excited for this knowing there's going to be an enigma, alpha and omega + mpreg and heat/rut.

Of course it started off fantastic, the actor for Hua Yong nailed the manipulative act but other than that the acting was a lil flat, and Hua Yong's repetitive calling of the alpha got on my nerves after a while.

Then it started going downhill when the alphas literally raped their partner 💔 also I didn't like how they couldn't see in a brightly lit room their rapists?? Like at least put more effort into the editing.

Not to mention that Hua Yong literally forcibly marked him without his permission like please guys
BUT I gotta say it's very entertaining and I'm always curious as to what happens next.
Overall it was alright, I would watch it again but the plot and acting are lacking a bit.

Inflicting Misfortune

If you like dark romance maybe you'll like this but I don't.
It's really a sadistic and stalker ways that just being pass on by many just because they're handsome. Like the events leading to other leads distressed and misfortune? it all comes with their partner.
I also read and finish the novel just because I was hoping for better but no. It's like inflicting the wound putting salt and licking it. It's typical c novels of damsels and unfortunate but in this one it is forced to be that. Not by circumstances but by their own partners.
Many events have plot holes. And fans keeps romanticizing it, ignoring the blazing red flags waving everywhere. So yeah not for me. This should be tag as dark romance because it is.

So binge-worthy

This is the very first drama that I’ve been religiously catching the very day they release an episode. I’ve always been able to resist temptation and wait for the entire series to be out before I watch it. But Desire’s plot is too intriguing, the actors are too good looking, the dialogue too salacious (ep 9)…, especially for a Mainland China production.

The actors played their roles spot on. Eliot Huang is perfect to play Hua Rong. He has the gentility and daintiness of Sheng Shao Yao’s preference of Omega one minute and the calculating dominance of an Enigma the next minute. It is amusing watching HR’s exchanges with Shen Wen Lang with whom he shows his true self. Equally interesting is watching a proud S-class Alpha like SSY continually make concessions (not having s*x for one) for Hua Rong while it binds SSY ever closer. All a part of HR’s carefully laid plans.

I can’t wait til next week when we’ll see how SSY treats HR now that HR’s real identity as the head of X Holdings is out and the extent of HR’s manipulations is revealed. After Ep 10, SSY now believes HR to be another S-class Alpha. Will he know the extent of HR’s duplicity? Will he connect HR to the person who overpowered and then had relations with him? (To pre-empt anyone who has strong feelings about this, I apologize beforehand for any offense. I don’t really analyze all their social ramifications when watching these dramas. I just take it as face value. It’s fiction and purely story telling to me). That said, I can’t stand the wait.. truly a delicious watch, a guilty pleasure.

What a lively first omegaverse in live action

The story line is intriguing me, how the whole story embraced a whole package of omegaverse out of all for the first time. It's more than enough for me to have a chance to find such a treasure. And out of all it's from China.

Thanks the authors for bringing this alive. The casting is just like, more than I can say as it feels like all the characters really came out directly from the novel.

I have nothing to say, just feel like I'm in my beautiful dreams. People have different preferences, but I'm sure this one is my taste. And hope for a best successful for the whole team.
