Agent Kim Reactivated is one of the more enjoyable Korean action-comedy dramas of 2026. The series balances family moments, humor, and espionage surprisingly well, and much of that success comes from So Ji-sub's performance.
One reason So Ji-sub feels perfectly cast is that he has played undercover and secret-agent-type roles before. He has the calm presence, experience, and natural charisma needed to make a veteran operative believable. He doesn't have to force the tough-guy image; it comes across effortlessly. At the same time, he gives Agent Kim enough warmth to make the family scenes work just as well as the action sequences.
My favorite part of the show was the relationship between Agent Kim and his daughter. Their interactions added emotional weight and prevented the series from becoming just another spy drama filled with gadgets and fights. The daughter was a genuinely likable character, and the family dynamic gave viewers something to care about beyond the missions.
I also enjoyed Agent Kim's friends and teammates. They brought a lot of personality and humor to the show, creating a sense of camaraderie that made the team feel believable. Their chemistry with So Ji-sub was one of the highlights throughout the series.
The only major issue I had was the portrayal of the spy agency chief. This is where I think the show lost about 1.5 points from what could have been a near-perfect score. Instead of feeling like the head of a modern intelligence organization, he looked and behaved like a cartoon character from an old American comic book. The long outdated coat, the decades-old cap, and the exaggerated mannerisms made him feel completely out of place compared to the otherwise grounded tone of the series. Every time he appeared, it felt like he had wandered in from a different genre.
Despite that flaw, Agent Kim Reactivated remains a highly entertaining watch. Strong performances, a likable cast, solid action, and heartfelt family moments make it easy to recommend. So Ji-sub once again proves why he is one of the best actors for these undercover-agent roles, carrying the show with confidence and charm.
Final Rating: 8.5/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐½

i am very bias when it comes to so ji sub's actorism
i just watched this because so ji sub is the mc and yes, it's still ongoing but i just couldn't help but type this. it's fantastic. yes, i know this is an overused plot and they just keep dragging it but the mc is so ji sub for god's sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he doesn't make it cringe (at least, for me). i love looking at his sad eyes, the guy is not only a fighter but he could portray sadness well too! u can see it in his expressions, instead of just fighting the goonies. I REALLY REALLY LOVE THIS. I LOVE MERCY FOR NONE TOO.and this just inspired me not to have any social media presence or be this biggie something. i am someone who thinks if i dont have any social media presence or if i don't act friendly to others, i'll die. but watching this just made me think "oh nothing's really gonna happen, u'll just live" so it really help!!!!!! helped me build this alter ego of being mysterious and all of that shenanigans.

The Cast That Made It a 10/10
The story wasn't always equally strong for me, but the cast absolutely made this drama. So Ji-sub, Choi Dae-hoon, Yoon Kyung-ho and Joo Sang-wook were such a pleasure to watch together, and I was also impressed by Seo Su-min, especially considering this was her debut. One of those dramas where I enjoyed the characters enough to forgive some weaknesses in the writing and I would definitely watch a second season. Was this review helpful to you?

Father-universe some of us may or may not relate
Agent Kim Reactivated is based on the webtoon Manager Kim, where Mr. Kim tries to connect with his teen daughter Min-ji, but later finds out his daughter goes missing. His friends, Jin-cheol and Han-su also help him while they face consequences of identity reveal and Ju Kang-chan's reckless actions of wanting Min-ji dead because of his daughter, Hye-ri who got in a fight with Min-ji after insulting her as 'motherless'. North Korean agent, new 66 and the SMD go looking for Mr. Kim after he is suspected involved in suspicious activity.I have always thought how different the drama and webtoon would be if Min-ji were to be dead instead of surviving a near-death experience, since she bled a lot from that brick hit. Imagine if she got head and skull trauma and actually died. Everything after episode 5, where Mr. Kim first enters the cold warehouse sees his daughter dead. He'd definitely take her body back, but I do imagine how there would be an impact after episode 5. You can even change it to deep coma if it's possible enough.
In my opinion, this k-drama including the webtoon which I plan to read everyday has become my permanent comfort drama.
I don't have a supporting father, he's alive but he opposes me, even when someone insults me or when I am struggling. Mr. Kim is a kind of father who's the exact opposite of mine, he's a loving father to Min-ji, promising his dead wife to take care of their daughter and taking responsibility himself. Even after getting on his knees in the principal's office, to which Min-ji shouted at him for, he MADE Kang-chan get on his knees to apologize to Min-ji.
His pride was Min-ji. To me, Mr. Kim is like a fictional father figure and I imagine myself as Min-ji in the parallel universe. The drama itself made me feel loved by a fictional father, including the uncles. I also have an uncle, but he's just like my father. Han-su and Jin-cheol are also like an uncle figure to me. The friendship between the trio is also really pretty, they are always there for each other even if the other doesn't want to, they try to find and excuse to help the other (Jin-cheol and Han-su in episode 9 when Mr. Kim gets captured).
As for the relationship between Min-ji and Hye-ri, I like how Min-ji is smart and stands up for herself. Not in the way where she fights Hye-ri, but she does not tolerate unnecessary disturbance, especially from hye-ri for no reason. Hye-ryeong irritates me even though she's a minor character who becomes use of Park Kang-seong (Yeong-gwang's brother), Hye-ryeong seems to be a two-faced person as well.
The villains are different, Kang-chan and Hye-ri's downfall makes me wonder what Mrs. Ju (Hye-ri's mother and Kang-chan's wife) does not because of how she realizes why Min-ji even beat up Hye-ri in the first place that she almost died, but the impact that puts into her mental health. The ending seems to leave a door open for season 2. Maybe Mr. Kim hasn't finished his fist job yet. Jung-dae, after stabbing Kang-chan might end up being an independent street thug. Him and Nam already have the biggest hate relationship, especially the contact saving of 'Ju Kang-chan's Lackey' and 'Worthless Thug', it was so direct.
Overall, this k-drama will forever be my 10/10 rating and comfort drama. I recommend you to watch, both for plot and family-related tropes. Especially if you probably have never felt father's love like me.
Love you Agen Kim Reactivated <3

Code-66: When a Lethal Black-Ops Asset Fails Basic Parenting 101
The premiere of Agent Kim Reactivated doesn’t just give us a standard high-octane revenge thriller; it exposes a brilliant, deeply ironic root conflict. We have So Ji-sub playing an absolute powerhouse of a covert operative—a literal human weapon—who is completely, utterly incompetent when it comes to the simple domestic laws of survival: understanding his own daughter. While many will inevitably look at this adaptation through a pure genre lens and expect a relentless, Taken-style action-fest, the real genius of the opening episodes lies in its depiction of the devastating consequences of the "strong, silent" archetype. Agent Kim’s stoic, emotionally unavailable approach isn't just a character quirk—it is a foundational parenting failure. By substituting deep, vulnerability-driven communication with superficial provision, he leaves his daughter completely unequipped for the brutal social hierarchies of school bullying. The real tragedy of Episode 1 isn't that his dark past caught up with him; it’s that his emotional absence might have driven his daughter into harm's way long before the syndicate ever did.
The series now stands at a critical narrative crossroads. It can easily sink into an empty, stylized cycle of endless combat choreography, or it can swim to greatness by treating the violence as a secondary catalyst. For Agent Kim Reactivated to achieve masterpiece status, the ultimate tactical mission cannot just be a rescue; it must be a reformation. The real victory won’t be Agent Kim taking down an empire with his bare hands—it will be him learning how to look his daughter in the eye and finally become a real father.
So Ji-sub’s phenomenal, micro-expressive acting gives us hope that this character has the emotional depth to pull it off. Let’s just hope the writing chooses to prioritize family restoration over empty political tropes and cheap shock value.
Initial Rating: 8.5/10 — A masterclass start with a brilliant emotional core. It has the blueprint to be something profoundly human if it doesn't lose its soul to the bullets.

MERCY FOR NONE PRO MAX
Popular plot, ahjussi retires from the military, becomes a husband, and lives a quiet disguised life, until the killing spree starts. Feels like Mercy for None part 2, same storyline just tweaked, with friends joining in this time. I really hope he lives this type of role alone and enter his villain role..Kdramas really need to learn how to blend the KopiKo into the plot better, it’s been over a decade.
Am I still watching? Yes, but only for vibes. At least the cast is stacked with amazing actors!!

They used AI Generated scene
This series had me hooked the moment i saw So Ji Sub. And the plot looked really intriguing to me and it was like a Korean version of John Wick. And i really enjoyed the first episode. But as i was watching backstory scene of Manager Kim, the whole black and white scene looked off. The shots, environment and characters faces looked really off. Then I noticed that it was AI generated scene. And some people think it's not a big deal and don't care about it. But to me this matters a lot. it's just insulting to human's artistic side and skills. It takes lot of time and commitment for people to learn certain skills and knowledge and it's no different with people who works behind the scenes. Film director, art director, production designer, camera operator and so on. Even the Actor and actress. All of these talented people come together with years of knowledge and experience to create these incredible masterpieces. But then using generative AI is just like ripping out their entire work and producing soulless slop. I mean i understand why they did it. It will reduce the cost for the budget. But that doesn't make it justifiable. If it was used for only few shots, that would've been fine. But a whole damn multiple scene? It is unacceptable. Was this review helpful to you?
Good. Only some Islamists from SEA or other places are losing their head over a genuine fact.
Till now, great story.Idaf to those Islamists who are saying Why Palestine and Pakistan !!! Dumbos so Hamas didn't carry terrorism over Israel in October ?? Israel didn't feel itchy to attack and wipe out Palestine all of a sudden.
And fvckin Pakistan !! It IS the land, the home of Islamic terrorism. The Army continues to breed terrorism there. Where was Osama Bin Laden found again ?? Where are the leaders of LeT and JeM (Lashkar e Taiba and Jaish e Mohammad) Hafiz Saeed and Masood Azhar are freely living again ??? In Pakistan only.
Why are Muslims from SEA and other nations so deluded to accept this fact ? The fact being 99% of terrorist groups are Islamic and they breed in such countries ??
Ig ore those haters. Add the drama to your watchlist.

A Legend on Paper
Agent Kim Reactivated is a thriller that spends more time telling you its protagonist is a legend than showing you why. Between endless flashbacks, macho posturing, and characters endlessly reciting his résumé, the search for his daughter becomes an afterthought. It clearly aims to be a mix of Taken and The Bourne Ultimatum, but ends up feeling like a thoroughly mediocre parody. Was this review helpful to you?
