It's a great show, but could be better

I really enjoyed watching this show, Jung Haein and Jung Somin acting got me on a chokehold since the beginning, but the story was slightly meh, I wish we could've seen more of Seokryu traumas to understand the depth of her last relationship and her sickness as a traumatic event, you could interpret her actions through that, but not really understand how much it took a hit on her emotional sometimes, like when she rejected Seunghyo many times because of how her last relationship ended and thinking she would be a burden if she was sick, you could interpret it, but it would be better if they showed it better. Overall it's a great show and I would recommend it to everyone, the cast did an amazing acting, it's what got me going until the end.

Love Next Door: A Story to stay in your heart.

Love Next Door is not a serial; it is an emotion. From the very first episode, it clutches at your heart and never lets go. What starts as a soft and silent saga of love and friendship turns into a heavy, emotional, and heartfelt journey pretty quickly, for which I was not prepared.

Love Next Door did something that few series have: really moved me. There were plenty of times it'd leave me grinning from ear to ear, and others literally crying my eyes out. Every episode felt just about perfectly balanced, complete with its amount of warmth and heartache, to keep me fully engrossed in the lives of the characters.

But, personally, what truly resonated with me in this series was the exploration of love in its various forms: romantic, familial, and friendship. It's not all about romance, per se, but about the connections you make, the choices you have to make within that, and the emotional weight you carry through it all. The authenticity of the storytelling was such that the characters' struggles and triumphs felt so real you couldn't help but get emotionally invested.

It is a shock when Love Next Door touches the heart unexpectedly, and there are moments that brought tears, not because of sadness but because it was just so beautiful. It's one of those shows that stays with you for a long time after it's finished, reminding you of the power of love in all its messy gorgeous glory.

If anything can be guaranteed to swing you with its mood and emotion, leaving you thinking long after it has ended, then Love Next Door is your series. It's not just a show; it's an experience.

so far … I LOVE IT SO MUCH !

the main leads are so likeable. their chemistry is amazing. i love watching so-min and hae-in’s kdramas ! i also love the childhood besties trope, with the “i hate you, you’re annoying” facade and + “he fell first then she fell but he’s head over heels for her” AHAHAHA it’s so obvious he likes her. i think deep down inside, she likes him too but she doesn’t wanna ruin the friendship. i love the bestie mo-eum and i’m excited to see what happens in her storyline. oh and FYI i cried in episode two ?

Childhood to Adult

There were spots or scenarios where the writers could have been more creative with this version of Friends to Lovers. The major surprise midway with the FL and her previous boyfriend was done well because I would never want my daughter to stay with someone who stayed with me primarily out of guilt or pity even though he seemed to think he loved her. They could have dove into more on why young adults make choices based on their parent's dreams instead of theirs. All characters did well especially the mothers. They are so funny as long-time friends and when they fight you will take sides because it's so believable. The ML and FL are absolutely perfect from the standpoint of chemistry, fit, and how they slowly acknowledge their love for each other that had been there for a long time but avoided or didn't understand their feelings. Love this drama!

Different emotions while watching

So far I’m loving it , it’s only on Episode 8 and I’ve already laughed, cried, gotten angry and felt almost every emotion I can think of. I’m excited to keep watching this drama. The chemistry the 2 main leads have is off the charts, you can tell they get along very well in real life. I also love the 2nd lead couple they’re both really funny.

Achieving Your Dreams while Benefitting Others

Love Next Door isn’t just a love story between the leads, but also a touching exploration of love and compassion for others. Lifelong friends finally find their way to each other after 30 years of missed opportunities. Choi Seung Hyo, the male lead, achieves great success as an award-winning architect, though it wasn’t his first dream. His passion for swimming was cut short due to an injury, but his resilience and determination led him to a different kind of fulfillment.

The female lead, Bae Seok Ryu, lived most of her life chasing her mother’s dreams, leading her to a personal and emotional breakdown despite achieving "success" in the States. Returning to Korea, she seeks to discover her own dreams and break away from her controlling mother. I loved how her childhood friend Seung Hyo supported and guided her toward her true passion—cooking.

However, I was upset when the writers introduced a stomach cancer storyline for Seok Ryu, which added tension to the rest of the drama. Though I was relieved there was no relapse, I found myself worried until the end. In the end, though, it became a meaningful reason for Seok Ryu to create healthy food for others who might face similar health challenges.

Ultimately, the dreams of both leads evolved into something bigger than themselves—doing good for others. Seung Hyo turned down big corporate projects to focus on architectural work that revitalized his older community, while Seok Ryu chose to cook healthy meals for everyone. The positive message that came through—that personal success is best when shared with and benefits others—is one that the world truly needs to hear.

Decent storyline with wonderful chemistry

Tbh I was very excited and had huge expectation from it since "FRIENDS TO LOVERS" trope is my fav type. Moreover, im a huge fan of JHI. But I wasn't happy after the way story took turns with ex. However, kept trust in JHI's words and didn't drop. Now Im quite satisfied but not fully. Keeping aside storyline, the chemistry between both leads was very solid and organic. Usually i don't get too much invested in second lead's story and in 90% cases, my priority and loyalty always remain with main leads. But this time the story progression (better than main leads' story) and chemistry of second leads were really good. From ep 11, the pace and buildup of story was good including many heartwarming moments which made me forget the ex fiasco. The transition of two friends to become lovers has been portrayed very beautifully. I liked how they bicker and tease each other in their dating period (exactly like their friendship period) but when they had arguement, they solved it with maturity and proper communication like a proper couple should do. They are childish yet sorted, matured. It made me realize that if SH were in SR ex's place, SR never had fallen in depression or they might not get broken up. SR's ex was a good person. But sometimes two perfect people can't be perfect for each other. They might have tried to give best to their relationship but they weren't good/ made for each other. Finally i convinced myself with this narrative and overall im happy with it. At last but not the least, it's not a ROMCOM. It's a whole package of slow burn romance, comedy, melodrama, feel good, healing drama. Romance part is more in comparison to others, but u hv to wait a little bit to reach that point. But i feel u won't regret it.

it’s so good so far

The drama has captivated me with its compelling storyline and outstanding performances from the cast. Every episode brings a new level of excitement and depth, making it hard to wait for the next one. The actors' portrayals are authentic and emotionally resonant, truly bringing the characters to life. If the series continues on this strong path, I’m confident it will become one of my all-time favorites. I’m eagerly looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds in the upcoming episodes. The production values are also top-notch, with beautifully crafted scenes and a soundtrack that perfectly complements the mood. Overall, this drama has all the elements of a classic in the making, and I can’t wait to see how it evolves.?

I Was NOT Disappointed!

I enjoyed this drama VERY much! It was clean and not off-putting. Many Kdramas have become linguistically distasteful (overuse of profanity) these days like the shows here in America. I found LND quite refreshing. The lead characters worked well together to present a relationship of love, longing, and denial. Their parents and friends only added to the sense of family and true friendship. This is a series for viewers who want a lighthearted rom-com. Yes, it was a bit predictable, but in a fun way. Would I watch it again? DEFINITELY!!!

one of the best 2024 kdrama

i will recommended everyone to watch this show it very good would not disappoint u in any way it not like other romcom who will show those fanfactic storyline and rose tint glass storyline with negative side

but it more of focus on reality aspect of human life, their struggle and how their healed from it

throughout the series we saw each and every character struggles, trauma and theur healing process i love how they didn't just focused mainly on main lead but give story to each ans every character give their explanation

love both main lead for me haein and somin will be in top2 of best kdrama pair in term of chemistry on and off screen they deserved all the love and hype they got from this show
