Connecting to You Is Colorful, Cute and So Much Fun, From Enemies to Lovers One Thread at a Time

It’s August and we have only had two Taiwanese BLs this year, so I was SO excited for our third one! After watching the trailer, I already had high expectations, and after six episodes, each around 25 minutes, I can confidently say Connecting to You has absolutely lived up to the hype. You can watch it on YouTube, Viki or iQIYI.

As the title suggests, Connecting to You is all about connections. Jiakai has a unique ability to see invisible threads linking people together, with each colour carrying a different meaning.

🔴🧵 Red represents love
🟢🧵 Green represents family
🟡🧵 Yellow represents friendship
🔵🧵 Blue represents hostility
🩶🧵 Silver Grey represents a connection that has not yet been defined

There are more colours with their own meanings, and what makes this ability even more interesting is that it is not only about the colour. The thickness and solidity of each thread also show how strong the connection is.

I absolutely love this concept. We have seen countless dramas where characters can see ghosts or have supernatural abilities, so seeing someone who can literally see the invisible connections between people feels so refreshing and clever. It gives the story a unique way of exploring relationships.

And the irony is even better. Jiakai can see everyone else’s colourful threads, yet he cannot see a thread connecting himself to anyone. He has become used to being alone and having no connection of his own.

That changes when he meets police officer Dawei.

I am LOVING the enemies to lovers setup between these two. Their first encounter had me laughing so hard. Who on earth takes off all their clothes to save a girl who is about to jump from a rooftop? Jiakai absolutely deserved to get handcuffed by Dawei because that whole situation made him look like a complete pervert! The comedy, awkwardness, and secondhand embarrassment were hilarious.

Then, after several chaotic encounters and plenty of bickering, an unexpected accident brings them even closer. When they accidentally knock their heads together, something incredible happens. For the first time in his life, Jiakai sees a thread connecting him to another person.

And of all people, it is Dawei. 😂

A silver grey thread appears between them, connecting Jiakai to the one person he least expected. 🩶🧵 I love how this supernatural ability is not just there for decoration. It actually becomes part of the romance and gives us a visual way to watch their relationship change.

I also really enjoy the supporting characters, especially Jiakai’s friend Chaonan. He brings so much fun energy to the series and adds another layer of comedy to an already entertaining cast.

Even the police station scenes are enjoyable. This is not a dark police drama filled with violent crimes and murder. Instead, the police setting is used in a much lighter and more playful way, which fits the overall tone of the series perfectly.

One of my favourite things about Connecting to You is the atmosphere. The comedy works without becoming painfully cringe, the music is fun, the visuals are colourful, and the entire series has such a bright and cheerful feeling. It is genuinely the kind of BL that can instantly lift your mood.

The production and visuals are also really good. I especially love the anime style opening. It gives the series an extra bit of personality and immediately tells you that this is going to be something different.

And of course, Jiakai and Dawei are both ridiculously cute and adorable. Their chemistry is already so much fun to watch, and I cannot wait to see how their relationship develops.

We are six episodes in, which means we are half way into the series, and I am already loving it so much. It has the perfect balance of comedy, romance, fantasy, fun music, colourful visuals, and a genuinely unique story concept.

Most importantly, I cannot wait to see what happens to that thread between Jiakai and Dawei. Will their connection continue to change? Will it become stronger? And when will they finally realise what is happening between them? ❤️

Connecting to You is definitely going on my recommendation list. If you enjoy cute romance, comedy, fantasy, enemies to lovers, and BLs with a unique concept, please give this one a try. You won’t regret it!

Cute and Makes you laugh

I love the premise of this where he see's the threads connecting people, reminds me of the Girl Who See's Scents, but the actual story is very different.

If your in the mood for something lighthearted, then so far this is a good watch, not slow, relationships haven't been rushed or overly forced, and the friendships are good as well. I'm interested to learn more about their backstories, and to see what drama they get into working together.

First impression

You can watch it on iQIYI: https://www.iq.com/album/connecting-to-you-2026-2fbr7b78pud?lang=en_us

I was really excited for it ever since I saw it and read the plot, so I'm happy to finally be able to watch it. It definitely did not disappoint. It is funny and entertaining, I really enjoy it so far.

Episode 1-2:
* I like it a lot, the acting and humor are nice, and the plot is so interesting.
* The friend really needs to start talking less, he just keeps getting the main character in more trouble.
* The police officer is a bit annoying; like, I see why he would act the way he does, but oh god, is he just not trying to listen to the main character at all!
* The main character is so awkward it hurts to watch.

Episode 3-4:
* I don't really understand why a police officer would invite the main character to live with him, especially with their history.

Episode 5-6:
* Things are still going well, and romance is finally developing.

I haven't watched something this cute in a long time.....just melts your heart!!! WATCH!!!

This completely melts your heart.....Chia Kai is beyond cute...and Dawei too.... I'm so invested in them 🥰

BL Needle Score: 8.5 Very High BL-ness

Chia Kai can sense and see things beyond the normal and that leads him to do what he does...in the goofiest and adoringly cute ways...with Ta Wei he almost seems like a lost dog following him around, without knowing why...and Ta Wei himself, with all that hard exterior, seems like a softie waiting to unfold

Even the synopsis talks about a supernatural element, the story is so much more than that...to me, the show doesn't seem to focus on a lot of thrills of the supernatural kind, but a lot of human elements instead, including some of the difficult and painful parts of human psyche.....and an endearing connecting forming between this unlikely pair...

Both leads are cute, and particularly Chia Kai.

This is unlike anything that has come out of Taiwan in a while and I am definitely sat for all the beautiful human and emotional elements it promises

Verdict: Watch for sure

Fluffy, Feel Good, Amazing + A Beautiful Storyline…

Helpppppppp!!! I am very very obsessed with this series. I just binged the first four episodes and i have no words to describe it 😭😭😭

Or wait, I actually do have words to describe it. SO GOOD! I enjoyed watching this and had moments where I was just laughing out loud. It’s such a fun watch OMG I’m surprised.

I didn’t read the synopsis or anything, just found it and decided to start it with little to no expectation and IT IMPRESSED ME.

Great acting, solid chemistry, interesting storyline, beautiful visuals, you name it.

Sorry I can’t keep writing because I’m off to rewatch the first four episodes all over again as I wait for the new episode.

Stop reading reviews!!!! Join the watch train ASAP

(FIRST EDIT: 8 episodes later, still solid, just wished the romance was more fleshed out, but still a good watch)

One of the best web series in 2026.

After a long time, I came across this web series, and it's really amazing. The chemistry between the two actors is awesome and, overall, you will love the storytelling and the editing. It is funny, yet good.

So far, I have only watched four episodes. I hope the rest of the episodes will be amazing as well. I'm waiting for them.
