Connecting to You

I am usually the type of viewer who absolutely refuses to start a show until every single episode is fully out. I love a good binge-watch. But GagaOOLala was going so hard with their relentless advertising and marketing for this one that I finally caved and decided to give it a taste, even with four episodes still left to air!

And honestly, I am so glad I did! The storyline is incredibly fresh and entirely unique for a BL series. You really have to hand it to the Taiwanese BL industry, they consistently push the envelope and offer brand-new, out-of-the-box themes every single year instead of just recycling the exact same old tropes. The narrative here is so engaging and genuinely fascinating to follow week by week.

I will admit, in the very beginning, I was super annoyed by Chia Kai's character. He was really getting on my nerves! But the further I got into the series and watched his character development unfold, the more he completely won me over. Now, I find myself absolutely addicted to the specific, endearing way he calls out for Ta Wei, it has this undeniable charm that just hooks you completely.

What I find most impressive is how perfectly this series manages to capture my attention and build undeniable romantic tension without relying on explicit bed scenes to carry the weight of the chemistry. The emotional connection and character dynamics alone make it an unforgettable watch that will definitely stick with me. I am officially on the edge of my seat and absolutely cannot wait for the special episode to drop next week!

The cozy drama I've been waiting for

I haven't enjoyed a lighthearted BL drama this much in a long time. The story was sweet and interesting and the added quirk of the 'strings' made for intriguing plot without over-complicating itself. The music and cinematography was great and suited the story well. The romance was extremely endearing and I thought well paced.
The highlight for me was undoubtedly the characters themselves. The dialogue was funny without being overbearing and I really really really enjoyed the 'Peggy talks love psychology' bit at the end of every episode, don't miss it!!!! The bits were funny and educational while tying beautifully into the narrative of each episode.
For a light-hearted, comforting drama I don't think it can get much cleaner than this. I loved it.

Weak, but good

That's a fluffy drama ,it was good watching it and i don't think there is much to hate on it, but it's clearly weak and simple.

Firstly, i understand that Jiakai's personality is easy to give shivers to some people, but I've seen worse, so i'm already ok with dummy characters, i just don't understand why , why make a grown-up character act like a child or anime , you can make an innocent character without it. And his bangs.... ahhh he clearly is prettier without covering his eyebrows and his entire forehead...all the time... i was desperate to see his bangs flying at some point but it didn't happen 😔 but that's just my opinion , beauty is subjective, right?

I don't like the threads plot, i didn't like it even before watching it, it's weird and it was obvious that it wouldn't have a decent explanation, and also... it's not really useful, like... he can track people and see emotions... but not much comes out of it, there's nothing exciting about that. I also think Jiakai is nothing special or unique at all to deserve carrying that gift. Well, but as i thought, it ain't really relevant to the story .

I also want to talk about the scene where Jiakai and Da Wei were children, that scene was terrible, the scene and also the plot were horrible and completely unnatural .

In general, the main characters' scenes were really enjoyable. I liked it. It's heartwarming. I also liked the teacher and her scenes at the end of every episode, she's very charismatic.

It's nothing special; it's simple ,but it's good.

Fell for the plot stayed for everything else

That was pretty good. Unfortunately it was a bit of a disappointment because I had higher expectations for the series, but it was still a nice and enjoyable watch.

Things I liked:
1. Humor. Sometimes a bit cringy but overall nice and funny.
2. Acting.
3. Cinematography.
4. Interesting plot. It is definitely new and exciting.
5. I really liked the intro to the series. As well as the OST.
6. Main character's friend. Funny and goofy.

Things I disliked:
1. They really went from zero to a hundred in mere seconds. I'm not complaining too much, but I would've preferred it a bit if it wasn't as rushed.

Not a bad bl drama give it a try!

This is going to be a short review because i don't have much to say as of now. I would say that I would recommend this drama ONLY for people who enjoy slow paced, silly little bits in their BL would like this as well. I quite like this drama because its not rush, its very chill so i can take my time slowly watching this.

The plot and the character itself is decent, I would say that if you're bored and wanted to take a break from all the mentally draining BLs definitely give this one a chance . Thank you for your time to read this review hope you have a nice day ahead :).

My comfort series of 2026

(copying and pasting from what i wrote elsewhere! this review is focused on the main character being so autistic-aly coded)
im realising more and more that mc may be the best representation of my experience being autistic that ive ever seen -
like that means SO much to me

i could go on and on of all the traits, thought processes and mannerisms that i understand completely -
so many things that even when a character is announced autistic - they dont show these traits
but he feels like an actual autistic person - not just a neurotypical giving them some moments - but genuinely his being!!

and the most healing parts are how his traits are not made fun of or the butt of a joke - but everyone not only accepts his traits - but loves them!!
i also just love how everyoneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee loves mc, even with that horrid misunderstanding at the start - she still was casual with him
hes just genuinely such a great character
and i love everything around him too, i love the dynamic of his relationship

AND i love how since they never turn off his autistic traits - the romantical moments arent a sudden switch in personality (cause many writers cant fathom someone could take an autistic person seriously or want to be with someone low-to-mid masking)

Love connected successfully

So, when you finally get to experience connecting with someone who will truly adore, cherish, care for, protect, and deeply love you, it feels like a dream come true.

And that’s exactly the kind of story Connecting to You tells. A little bit of fantasy, a whole lot of romance, and an absolutely adorable amount of cuteness. It was such a sweet and heartwarming watch!

The concept of seeing colored lines representing emotions and relationships is such a great idea. Although this concept has already been utilized in other shows, this drama approaches it in a much lighter and more charming way. At the same time, the essence and significance of the concept remain strongly aligned with the storyline’s purpose and meaning. It never feels like a gimmick, instead, it becomes an important part of the character’s journey and connection.

Chia Kai is the cutest! He is such a ray of sunshine, and his personality shines throughout the entire show. I absolutely adore him! Bruce Chiu embodies the role so effortlessly and beautifully. His little attention to details, the gestures, the way he runs so adorably, and even the way he speaks in a slow and gentle way, are all just too perfect. Every little thing about Chia Kai makes him incredibly lovable.

And pairing him with such a handsome man in uniform! Da Wei and Chia Kai make such a visually gorgeous couple, and their chemistry is undeniable. Liu Yu Ren looks incredibly handsome both in his police uniform and in his casual clothes, especially in those scenes at home. He has this sexy presence and those intense fiery yet calm stares that add so much charisma to his character.

I just love this show. It brought me an absolute amount of joy and comfort while watching. The comedic elements also worked really well and gave us plenty of memorable and hilarious moments throughout the drama. I honestly wanted more lovey-dovey moments between the two of them, and my wishful thinking definitely includes hoping for more intimate scenes between them. But even with the limited kisses and hugs, they were still enough to make this series stand out.

Overall, this series is such a fun BL with a unique take on the fantasy-romance genre. I love lighthearted stories that prioritize a creative concept and a charming script while allowing the main characters’ performances to shine. Bruce Chiu and Liu Yu Ren really brought Chia Kai and Da Wei to life, making their relationship even more enjoyable to watch.

Again, I love it! This was such a cute, comforting, and joyful ride that leaves you smiling after every episode.
