it's unpredictable!!
LMAO , l watched J&J when it was still airing but only 10 episodes where out that time, l expected a typical Thai BL , come to find out that it's actually amazing, like it's so unpredictable, l binge watched it in one day🤡that day l slept at about 1 AM😁that's how good it is, maybe it's because I'm a big fan of slow burn that's why l loved this?🤔l don't know , but if you're into slow burns , you need to give it a tryWas this review helpful to you?

All about the film
I watched this series during a time when I was facing financial struggles, so I could completely relate to the debtor-creditor dynamics and the tension, helplessness, and anxiety portrayed in the story. It’s such a raw and realistic show (from financial pressures to relationships and societal expectations), yet it masterfully balances that with humor—thanks to the witty interactions among the cast. The action scenes? Stunningly shot and never over-reliant on flashy camera angles. The soundtrack? Spot-on and perfectly placed. The acting? I no need to say anything, YinWar has always been known for their natural acting style, and they absolutely nailed their roles in this series. They fit their characters like a glove! In fact, the entire cast deserves a standing ovation—there isn’t a single acting that feels off. Everyone brought their A-game, delivering heartfelt and compelling portrayals across the board. 👏
And these are two things I *absolutely loved* about this series:
1. The Cinematography—it’s GORGEOUS! Seriously, the colors and camera work are the most beautiful and authentic I’ve ever seen in a Y Series.
2. The Respect for Women—unlike other Y Series that often make female characters the antagonists, JacknJoker series portrays them as smart, beautiful, sophisticated, and funny. As a woman, I genuinely felt seen and appreciated through the way this series celebrated its female characters.
That said, there’s one tiny minus: the plot twist. I get that YinWar wanted to wrap things up with a light, fun, and feel-good ending to balance out the darker moments, but it felt a bit rushed and left me slightly unsatisfied.
All in all, this is a series I’ll definitely rewatch multiple times—it’s that good!

The first thai bl in years I have been invested in
Yinwar is single-handedly the industry we all cheered😞 If you're like me and read reviews for highly praised thai bls or start bls that are promoted all over your fyp and drop pretty much all of them cause the plot doesn't engage you or the acting/writing is just too far gone from your standards of the amount of cringe or disrespect you'll allow as viewer, YOU AIN'T GOTTA WORRY NO MORE. Know I say this without previously being a fan of Yinwar or knowing their past projects but they deliver in every scene. The plot is brilliantly entertaining and carefully thought out arcs like the first three episodes is one arc, it's so simple but at the end of the day I need good writing along with representation. I am completely in love with War, his character is so charismatic and his eyes are so expressive.I love that in an angsty bottom. Yin completely sells me on Jack and his motives and morals, it's amazing to see moments where his persona breaks. Since I discovered thai bls a couple of years ago I watched a handful of good ones and have been disappointed time and time again I took a break and Jack and Joker pulled me back in. All I can wish for is that you give this show a chance like I did cause I can guarantee you'll stick around. My only regret is watching this show when three episodes so I have to keep coming back every week lol. I fear I must watch their other bls to sustain myself. I am so excited for what comes next.JUST FINISHED 2 years later and it is still peak
The best bl of that year, took me so long to complete cause I got sick of the horrible quality of thai bls and procrastination but this made me remember why thai bls are their own genre. Such a good story, good tension and angst. Wonderful wonderful cast of characters that enrich the dynamics and energy of the show. First yinwar show i watched, War is such a talent I'm a big fan. Not sure if I'll be tuning in to other thai bls now but this show seriously ignited that spark! Shed tears, laughed, enaged well, a diamond!!

Overrated and overhyped
This has been on my watchlist, then i saw 8.8/10 and I was like oh wow, I’m in for a good time but alas it wasn’t so.Ep1 was ok enough even though I wasn’t exactly seating at the edge of my seat in anticipation of the next episode but I’m like maybe it gets better since it has such high rating, half way through ep2 and I’m asking myself why I’m I here? 55mins into ep2 and the bank scene I was like yeah I’m out, I’m like is this for real, is this supposed to be a real bank?
I’m sorry to anyone who likes this but this is definitely not a quality series and it’s honestly bad, the background characters are just lifeless and screaming I am just an extra so loud, my eardrums hurt so much.
This very below average drama being rated so high is mind boggling, as someone who reads a fair amount of reviews here, I’m used to a lot of reviewers here enjoying mediocrity and some would rate highly anything their faves are in whether good or bad, I have long giving up hope of having the majority of the reviews and ratings here from people with working brain cells, most people who write reviews here have below average level intelligence, so when I continue seeing ratings like this, the hope that is dead gets even buried deeper.
This is going in the dropped bin
I obviously do not recommend

Great suspense drama with a side order of love
This story is set in the slums of Thailand and features Jack, a poor taekwondo student who through a brief association with Joke, a middle class kid whose only skills are lying, pretending and stealing goes from poor and honest to poor, desperate and enslaved.5 years later they reunite after Joke is released from prison following the situation that led to Jack’s downfall and at the same time we meet others stuck in their own versions of hell and watch as they all grow from individuals trying to survive to a team determined to right the wrongs of the miserable lives they been given. Through it all and somewhere down the line relationships are formed and Jack and Joker fall in love.
The standout performance for me was Tangkwa Chananticha Chaipa who plays Toi Ting a young street smart kid who wants more out of life than the shitty hand she’s been dealt. Her believable character was fearless, brave and sassy wrapped up in a cute little bundle.
Yin and War as Jack and Joker were brilliant and it’s easy to see why Jack just let Joker win him over again and again as chemistry aside deep down he knew there had to be a really compelling reason for his sporadic return to crime and the sad puppy dog eye look Joke gave when caught hooked Jack in every time (it would make me forgive him every time too tbh).
There was very little opportunity for NC’s or PDA’s in this drama and to be honest I think it would have detracted from the story. In fact there only one intimate scene but it was enough to see how their slow burn romance spilled into every part of their relationship and it had me reaching for a metaphorical fan as it was so sizzling hot.
The other characters were well acted, their plot lines adding depth and breadth to this story by injecting love, laughter, a bond forged by desperation and the need to trust that together they could beat the system.
The contrast between the haves and have nots was poignantly obvious as evidenced in so many ways: from grotty buildings with peeling paint and doors that don’t close properly to sumptuous mansions with glittering fountains and marble staircases; poorly dressed, malnourished individuals with knife and fork haircuts compared with exaggeratedly overstuffed individuals with dubious taste in horribly expensive clothing; the raw honesty of frantic people trying to survive as opposed to bored mega rich to whom the lives and belongings of the less fortunate are just a game.
As an aside , the music used a lot at the beginning of their relationship, when Jack and Joker’s hearts skip a beat, is called Windfall by Megan Wofford (thank you Shazam!) and it’s also used in Cutie Pie on Lian and Kuea’s wedding night.
You should also watch the special one-off episode. It will break your heart but alludes to another series or just another one off. Here’s hoping…
Would I watch this again? Absolutely

Best BL show ever
2024 was really our year. I watched so many good BLs. But this one was true to its title and it really stole my heart! It was my first YinWar show. Now I just want to watch every single work of them and more of them in the future. This show was TOO good to be true like I paused at some points and was like “wow… that’s ACTUALLY good, a masterpiece”. Their chemistry was chemistrying.I also wanna talk about the side characters: they were EVERYTHING! My new found family!
I must admit if you’re planning on watching this prepare to cry, prepare for real PAIN! At a point I was pulling my hair from how painful things were going and I was begging for a happy moment. But I swear it gets better. It’s really perfect and worth watching. 10000% worth it. I’m gonna miss all of them so much!
If a show makes me genuinely cry or genuinely laugh then it’s so good for me and this show did both. (plus some screaming and cursing and blushing and yelling and awwwwwwing)
Oh and the character development of literally every character was top tier!
Can’t wait for the special episode
Masterpiece
10000/10

Best BL ever made. Must watch!!
Everything was beautiful. Chemistry, storyline, acting, fight scenes.Best BL created so far, definitely recommend watching.
Yinwar did amazing once again, and I am so glad they got to act in such a well made storyline. I don't think anybody could have pulled it off as well as they did. I knew this series was going to be good, but didn't expect it to be this phenomenal. You have to watch it if you haven't already!!

Impressive performances from War and YIn
I truly loved this!! This was one of my favorite shows from 2024. It was a refreshing and unique story in the genre. War and Yin both utterly impressed me with their acting. I am desperate to see more from them. The stunt fighting especially from Yin was outstanding. It was such an outlier in the industry. War showed his versatility in all the sides of the character he got to play. The non verbal communication from both of them elevated their performances. Their on screen chemistry was outstanding. This was some of the best acting I have seen in a long time. War and Yin did such an incredible job in the emotional scenes. It made you really connect and feel what the characters were feeling. The production quality from this show was very high. At times the lighting choices were impeccable. The romance story line was done so well. It was done tastefully and with maturity. It felt so real. The support actresses for the neighbor girl and the grandma did such a great job. The plot, for the most part, developed nicely. You got to understand the main characters motivations, beliefs and backgrounds. I felt like the characters of Jack and Joke were written well. There was also character development for them in spades. I loved that this was a story about social class and power dynamics. I think these are fascinating topics to cover in media.
I only had a few notes with the show. Things went a little pear shaped when they had to deal with the plot and climax of the conflict. The Boss story line was the weakest in the show, even though it was crucial to the plot. A lot was left for me to read between the lines. It seemed pretty fabricated. Also, the supporting characters fell a little flat to me. It was a missed opportunity to add even more depth to the story.

CINEMA IS BACK!!!! THIS IS HOW IT IS DONE!!!!
THIS IS HOW YOU DO A SHOW!!! Acting *chef's kiss* , Story *chef's kiss* , Chemistry *chef's kiss*. They did not come to play with this series. Such a perfect balance of Action, Romance, Angst and Comedy. It's SOOO Good!!!! This show needs to be studied by people as an example on how to write a good BL show and how to execute it with perfection. THE STORY AND THE ACTING From the leads and all the other characters in itself will get you hooked to it. The emotions the characters portray without saying a word.. Especially War and Yin... OH I CANNOT PRAISE THEM ENOUGH!!!! And They chose such good actors for all the roles. Not a single one of the character feels like they are forcing out lines without completely feeling it. They are all so Natural. AND THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN YIN AND WAR!!!! HOW DO I EVEN BEGIN TO DESCRIBE HOW THEY MAKE ME FEEL!!! THEY ARE NOT EVEN IN THEIR ROMANCE PHASE in the show YET THE CHEMISTRY IS JUST OOZING OUT!!! They are a duo who were destined to be partnered up together. They complement each other so well.. It seriously is a treat to the eyes to see them act out their characters. Was this review helpful to you?
CINEMA IS BACK !!!
It's incredible when you watch a show with no expectations and end up falling in love with everything about it. I don't know how they will pay for my therapy because I’ve already had a few breakdowns watching it, and now I'm almost having an anxiety attack because there are still 6 days left until the new episode.Wow, this is the best premiere of September and the second-best premiere of the year. I’ve never watched any BL from YINWAR before, but now I’m thinking about checking them out because, damn, what chemistry is this??? I was rolling in bed and smiling when they looked at each other, and when they both smiled, it was everything for me.
THE PROTAGONISTS!
WAR ( JOKE)
Starting with the War, wow, I’m floored by how he managed to convey so much emotion in just one episode. First-class acting; I cried with him when he asked, “Even saving a kidnapped woman isn’t enough to be proud of me?” I wanted to hug him and protect him from everything 😭 He’s truly a great actor, and his strongest point is definitely drama; he was born for it. The strongest moment was when he cried—none of the moments he spent with his family made him shed a tear.
YIN ( JACK )
I also just wanted to hug him. Both of them practically had the same fate, and just thinking that he’s going to stop being that sweet kid breaks my heart. One of my favorite scenes was with his grandmother; I could feel the maternal love between them. Another thing is how he’s changed; in this pilot, we saw him as more youthful, innocent, with a smile on his face like a sweet child. Now, in the next episode, we might see him in a darker light 😭
STORY
So far, it’s been great! Even in the first episode, many things happened without being vague or rushed—everything was just right. I don’t know how it will be from here on, and I really enjoy this feeling of being surprised by the story at any moment. But one thing I’m sure of is that I’m going to love this BL a lot.
OTHER CHARACTERS
Some of the cast members were introduced and did very well in terms of acting. Honestly, I don’t care—everything Deep Hub is incredible.
What I Hope For
The pace of the plot is excellent, and I hope it continues like this.

Do not let that 6.7 rating fool you
Honestly this first episode is exactly how you introduce such an epic story. I love the risks taken with the story its a breathe of fresh air in a sea of carbon copy series set in University or High School and the writing and cinematography was on point very cinematic. Jack and Joker are destined for each other but i love the cat and mouse game it'll take to get there. Was this review helpful to you?
