So much potential, and yet...

I really wanted to like this show. I've seen a few dramas with Esther Yu, and although I agree her voice and childish acting can be a little awkward to watch, I generally have positive feelings for her characters. Not too familiar with He Yu, but he definitely fits the role of ML. Unfortunately have to drop this one though, as there are just too many things that frustrate me to justify wasting time finishing it.

As I always say, the cast do well with their roles (no disrespect or hate towards any of them). It's almost always the writing and execution that gets to me. The plot is rather boring and inconsistent. There isn't enough chemistry and scenes between the FL & ML to make up for the inconsistencies in the story and progression. The ML barely has any lines. He's your typical handsome ML who's always bruting, moody, angry, rarely smiles, treats most people coldly other than the FL and their social circle, and barely shows any emotion other than anger and moodiness. Most other characters get somewhat realistic personalities (maybe debatable when looking at the childish personality of the FL), so I just wish we could get more MLs that have more personality than just the bruting, overly-capable MLs like this one. It hurts the chemistry with the FL, and most of their scenes just felt awkward to watch given the FL's child-like personality and the ML's quiet angry demeanor.

I'm sure He Yu is a great actor, but I didn't get to see much of his range. Maybe it gets better later on, but up to episode 10 I feel like he didn't have as many scenes as I would normally expect for a ML. In fact, I feel like they gave way too many scenes to the 2ML. I'm an avid disliker of love triangles, so I really didn't like how the writers kept forcing scenes between the FL and the 2ML instead of focusing on developing the relationship between her and the ML. There is a 2FL, but so far she's barely in the show, has a frustrating personality, and the ML acts so coldly towards her I wouldn't even count it as competition for the FL. And yet, the 2ML is given a likeable charismatic personality and is in almost every other scene, including with the FL, whereas the ML pops in every now and then (still moody) and has forced "tension" scenes with the FL that feels awkward given the sibling dynamic the writers keep pushing for.

On the topic of sibling dynamic, I am used to dramas going the route of "not technically siblings" when it comes to romance, but I definitely agree with other reviews that think the whole non-biological sibling dynamic is a bit strange. There are times when the leads are acknowledged by others and themselves as being brother and sister, and other times when characters conveniently disregard that fact and see them as a couple. Not to mention the FL's childish personality compared to the ML's authority-like personality makes it feel even more weird at times. Don't get me wrong, there are heart-fluttering moments and tension, but most of the time it feels forced and awkward.

The racing and action sequences are cool I suppose, but sometimes feels out of place with the other scenes. The high speed racing and dangerous driving doesn't make a whole lot of logical sense given that no one seems to get pulled over by the police or stopped at any point. The FL also doesn't make a lot of sense as she's technically capable and knowledgeable in many things but still plays the defenseless FL that needs saving.

I could already tell the direction the romance was going in very early on. Likely many episodes of frustrating back and forth & push and pull between the leads before making any meaningful progress in their relationship. Likely many jealous ML moments to come given the fact that there's already three men who seem to be interested in the FL. I suppose I'm just not the target demographic for these types of shows. Still very frustrating for a romance drama lover.

I don't know, maybe the show gets better in the later episodes, especially given the high ratings. But I couldn't shake the obvious "fanfiction" romance and plot progression. Maybe if you're into this sort of thing you'll enjoy it, but I wouldn't expect too much in terms of realistic romance and a logical plot, just mainly fanfiction-like fluff.

This one has some spoilers but I promise it’s worth the read

Lemme start with I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS DRAMA.
He Yu and Esther smashed it with this series the acting was on point and I can imagine absolutely no one else playing their roles they truly were amazing.
The plot was great two kids brought up together in the same house siblings but not by blood but separated due to the parents split leaving Zhao taken by Jin Qiang and Mu by her mother only for Mu to come to Thailand at 20 years of age in the hopes of meeting her brother and becoming close to him again.
Main leads:
Jin Zhao- ur typical bad boy but has the most kind hearted and beautiful personality at the time he spent his high school years onward racing and boxing to earn money for his father himself due to a law case in which he was framed but also to help his garage in which he worked.
Jiang Mu- a sweet and cutesy girl completely loving caring and beautiful she clings to him like anything but has absolute adoration for Zhao in her eyes. And although seems like a weak character is strong and supports him every step of the way she cares for him more than anyone ever could a proceeds to continually put him above everything and everyone.
Side characters:
Sanlai- an incredibly caring and humorous character whom I truly sympathised with not only because of him past but because despite everything he went through he was always there to support Zhao and protected Mu at all costs as if she were his own sister his character was truly lovable and amazing
Crazy- as they call him is another friend of Zhao’s who again was incredibly humorous and like Sanlai treated Mu as his own sister he really was a favourite in this series
Lin Sui- despite the rivalry with him and Zhao at the start it was evident that he had no intention to cause harm but rather was bedazzled by his talent their friendship then developed and we can see that he truly was a good one he was the reason Zhao overcame his accident and was able to live with good health.
Nana- I loved her truly bestie of Mu and neighbour of Sanlai she stopped at nothing to be there for Mu from the start she helped Mu make a move toward Zhao and was a consistent help in being a comforter and listener whenever Mu needed it
Wan Qing- despite her unrequited love for Zhao it was clear that she was never going to be an issue as although she loved him dearly she never forced him nor created major issues for Mu and in the end realised that it was best they were together and became a great friend of Mu

Plot:
To keep it short their separation is followed by a reunion due to Mu going to Manshi she makes attempts to get closer to Zhao and slowly learns the difficulties he has been put into his shortened study despite being a top grade student resulted due to economic issues and his continuous want to help his younger “sister” Jin Xin who had a critical disease and needed treatment. The two slowly fall in love and become inseparable and eventually get together however the relationship no matter how sweet gradually gathered issues due to Zhao being conservative of the true economic issues he was in and with the help of Sanlai realised he was not helping Mu by keeping it from her this developed their relationship for the better and he found a way to clear his name as the truth was that he was caught up in a case and framed for it to clear his name he required racing one final time and winning to end all the troubles. However, due to a faulty brake Zhao’s car exploded injuring him to the point he was unable to walk and Lin Sui steps in to get him a great doctor so he can get better however Zhao feeling unworthy doesn’t want Mu to be with him as he felt she deserved someone who could protect her and walk with her so when her mum falls in and requires surgery forcing her back to Canada he ghosts her in which she feels upset they then reconcile in Nanxing 6 years later she is still in love with him and him with her he realises that he had no need to step away at the time and that he wanted to marry her the end shows the two married.

Criticisms:
Honestly my only issues are some of the script stuff but ofc im not a scriptwriter but i thought I’d add it and see if anyone agrees
1. This is minor but when Mu thinks he’s cheating due to the hand he put on the other girl I found there to be no reasonable explanation for that action and it did slightly annoy me as despite his need to do some activities because of him being framed I didn’t see a need for that specific action anyway lolllll
2. The separation of 6 years felt crazy and the frustration I felt of Zhao’s actions were unreal as ofc Mu had already gone through sm because of his case and then his accident then he chose to make decisions for her
3. The proposal was low effort sat in airport waiting seats with the ring attached to a new keychain I liked the sentimental touch but it jus didn’t feel as great as some of the other dramas and the wedding stuff was unfinished cz all best men and maid of honours were drunk and asleep which I found slightlyyyy eh anyway
ALL IN ALL ITS GREATTTT
Zhao’s actions no matter how harsh made me realise his trauma and self esteem were truly bad he felt worthless despite being adored by Mu but this drama is a great way to show his healing and the happiness they both gain I truly loved it a lot❤️

SURPRISINGLY AMAZING!!

don’t even know where to start. i don’t usually leave reviews on this app but even a day after finishing it I constantly think about it so i had to leave a review!!

i thought it would be the usual step sibling situation and whatnot (which I already enjoy watching). after watching the first few eps i felt like the FL would be quite annoying in terms of her childishness however I was fortunately proven wrong!!

i absolutely love her character. she is playful but at the same time caring, calculated and the most important (and surprising for a Chinese drama) BOLD!! she clearly displays what she wants (the ML i mean haha) and I love it!! she doesn’t wait for him to do the first step and it’s perfect due to his distant and cold nature (even though he’s very caring actually).

i also love how he’s so attentive to everything. the last few eps were genuinely so amazing i can’t even give specific details since there’s so many absolutely perfect moments which also gives you a lesson on how a relationship should work believe it or not.

overall if u like distant but caring guy and a playful but straightforward and bold girl WATCH IT IMMEDIATELY!!

An exciting, adrenaline-filled Wattpad-style series.

“Speed and Love” is exactly what it promises: a cliché story, in the purest Wattpad style, but told with such energy and passion that it is surprisingly exciting and addictive. It is not a complex, innovative, or life-changing plot, but it perfectly fulfills its objective: to entertain, quicken the pulse, and sweeten the heart.

One of its greatest successes (apart from taking place almost entirely in Thailand) is that the plot genuinely focuses on the world of car racing. It's not just a decorative backdrop; racing is an essential part of the story, and even the cars are presented as secondary characters, with their specifications and the personality of each driver, adding a layer of authenticity that will be greatly appreciated by motor racing fans.

Esther Yu shines with her unique style. For those of us who are already familiar with her work, her voice is not a problem, but a distinctive feature. In addition, her wardrobe and the evolution of her character are a strong point: she goes from being an impulsive girl to someone with greater determination and maturity without losing her essence.

He Yu pleasantly surprised me. This is the second work of his that I've seen and the first in a modern drama, and I must say that he conveys a convincing and charismatic masculinity. His portrayal as a pilot is impeccable, and yes, he looked extremely handsome on screen. His chemistry with Esther is palpable and carries much of the romance.

The pace is fast, romantic, full of tension (both emotional and on the tracks), and keeps you interested episode after episode. It's the kind of drama that doesn't require a lot of mental effort, but hooks you with its adrenaline-fueled scenes and sweet moments.

In short: If you're looking for a light, predictable but highly entertaining story, “Speed and Love” is a safe bet. It's pure Wattpad entertainment: fast cars, intense romance, charismatic protagonists, and an ending that leaves you smiling. Perfect for weekend marathons or to clear your mind after a hard day.

8+0,5 for Jin Zhao

This drama is very special to me. It caught me right from the beginning and also carried me through some tough times, and I could relate to the story in certain ways. At first, I ended up binge-watching so many episodes.

Jin Zhao / He Yu really carried the drama for me and raised my standards lol. I overall really liked his character. Despite many opinions, I also enjoyed Esther Yu’s acting and Jiang Mu’s character. I liked her “princess treatment” from Jin Zhao and her pampered behavior, although it might have been a bit too much at times. The chemistry between them was also very good.

The visuals, story, and OST were also pretty good. I also really loved the symbolism and hidden meanings throughout the drama.

I watched until around episode 20 and then stopped for a while because it felt a bit too long and stretched out, and I didn’t want to reach the conflict, which in my opinion was somewhat unnecessary. After a longer break, I started watching it again and was able to pick the story back up. However, the later episodes also felt a bit stretched, and in contrast, the best part (the wedding) felt a bit too rushed and too short. But I really liked that all their friends reunited with them at the end.

The swoony romance made me forgive a lot

The romance in this drama took me by surprise by how swoonworthy it was. The episodes 1 to 16 were simply amazing with some of the most butterflies inducing scenes I have seen in dramaland. I will definitely remember it for a long time. I must admit that the second part of the series was less good with some noble idiocy trope that I wish could have been avoided. However, even if this is one of my pet peeve, I had much more leniency for the main lead that I would usually have...Proof that I was completely smitten by He Yu. Indeed, I totally fell under the actor's charm.

I am not sure that I would have loved as much the main lead as a character if he would have been played by a less charming actor, the role was reaĺly swoony but also kinda reckless and selfish, even when doing things to "protect" the heroine. He did understand stuff by the end and still was amazing in many romantics scenes but still, I know that I would have probably nitpicked much more usually. The combo of fighter / car racer / obsessed gege was definitely the winning combination to make me forgive everything.

I would recommend this to people that are looking for a swoony romance and that do not mind noble idiocy.

Saint Valentine watch

Fun fact that I managed to finish the last episode on Saint Valentine's day. It that very happy ending that let me smile during the whole episode :) Now, this is a one -time watch show but it is worth it. Absolutely loved the ML and the potrayal by the actor ( first time seeing him). He was so good that managed to convince watching the whole show till the end. The scenes in Thailand were beautiful and was so refreshing to see a glipse of a country that I have never visited. The racing, fights again great and the ML OMG, had to mention again his great performance. Now , the bad part was that it shoudl have been shorter like 20 ep are enough and why OH why are you allowing the rediculous narrative that a girl that is 20 years old acts like she is 8. Like, there is nothing appealing to it , other than making her look like a moron. Which honestly, annoys me big time. Anyway, now you were prepared to know what to expect but still it is worth a watch.

A truly conclusion to 2025 dramas

Speed and love brings a solid conclusion to 2025 dramas. Was it perfect? No. Was it an awesome watch? Absolutely. “Speed and Love” was just plain addicting to watch.

Pros:
* Chemistry — Rarely do we see a pairing like this. Rarely do we experience chemistry at this level. I would rewind scenes that left me breathless. Every touch, every kiss (and there are MANY)—each has you holding your breath or grinning like a kid. Esther Yu and He Yu’s chemistry is just another level. I don’t know how else to do it justice
* Street racing — Okay this aspect was so freaking cool. I loved it. It had me on the edge of my seat. The race scenes were so awesome, and the undercover in the underworld aspect was thrilling.
* Characters to love — This had a great ensemble cast. In fact, I was bummed when the time jump happened and we had to say goodbye to them, proof of good writing. Plus, our leads develop excellently. I was annoyed with Jiang Mu (FL) at the beginning because of she was written so kiddish, but by the end of the drama, we have an incredibly strong and loyal FL who you just can’t help but love. As for Jin Zhao—don’t get me started. He is just one heck of a ML.
* The production — The quality here was top notch. The OST, cinematography, stunts, location in Thailand, costuming… all of it screams big budget.

Cons:
* Time jump/separation — Look, I can handle a time jump trope. But this… This almost ruined the whole show for me. Episodes 21-24 are so painfully sad and infuriating that it’s hard to process. While I understood his motivations, I was so disappointed in Jin Zhao for making Mumu wait that long without any indication of what was going on then convincing her friends and family to lie to her about him. Then when they’re back together in the same city, it’s three episodes of heartbreak.
* Jiang Mu at the beginning — (If you’re an Esther Yu fan, feel free to disregard what I’m about to say because I totally respect you opinion.) Jiang Mu in the first 10 or so episodes was rough for me to handle. Esther Yu’s “baby voice” was in full effect. Then the writers did her a disservice by throwing in some elements that almost infantilized her character. It takes a bit before we see her mature.
* Losing the racing aspect — After the time jump, we find out that all the bad guys got what they deserved… off camera. OFF CAMERA. Like what?? We didn’t even get to see much of that huge race we spent the whole show preparing for. This annoyed me big time. The racing and investigation part of this show was one of its biggest strengths. After the time jump, it’s all gone.

Overall, I did really really enjoy this. I’m not Esther Yu fan, but I will admit she impressed me in this. Her performance in the last fifteen or so episodes was just great, and I enjoyed seeing her range. Also the “sibling” aspect was handled well. Very rarely did I get the ick lol. “Speed and Love” falls prey to a meloncholy and draggy last quarter, but they do give us a happy ending, and when they’re reunite, it’s absolutely amazing and romantic and everything you’d hope to see.

I definitely recommend.

Why am I so late to the party!!!!!!

Till date I have watched a number of dramas, more Korean than Chinese. Being relatively new to this genre I feel I don't really have the stamina to watch 40 episodes of something and invest myself in it. I have given up on a lot of Chinese dramas for this particular reason. It's too much of an investment of time for me. I went into Speed and Love with similar expectations. When I started watching Speed and Love I stopped at the first episode because I couldn't understand it at all. I couldn't understand Mumu's longing for Zhao. Nothing stood out, there was no hook, no catch and I think that is what the genius lies in, to not force the viewer to fall in love with it because they know they'll end up blown away anyways. I however forced myself to go on and boy was I unprepared for the havoc it wreaked on my mind and soul. I fell head over heels in love with He Yu's (Jin Zhao).

I think the most important aspect of this drama is the gradual pace at which the characters and the emotions develop. So much has been written about the brother sister bond that I feel it has been blown out of proportion. To be honest whether he fed her milk bottles or changed her diapers doesn't matter to me personally considering they never had a blood bond. Yes people might stone me to death for this but the fact of the matter remains that Jin Zhao was never related to Jiang Mu by blood, it was always societal/familial. They did not share a birth mother or father hence in my mind they were not related apart from emotional connections. The fact that he had been born to Jiang Mu's father's best friend really made it quite stark for me.

The boy had been forced to be a caretaker to Mu Mu since a very young age because he had no choice at first and later simply because he loved her. He considered her the only anchor to his life that didn't regard him unwanted, a financial burden or an eyesore. A lot of what children end up doing is basically what they are taught to do and Jin Zhao had no choice but to step up as a parent to Mu Mu in the absence of her parents emotional unavailability. People might argue that her mother was always attentive and loving towards her but in reality she struggled through an unhappy marriage, spousal incompatibility and a deep lack of trust and understanding which made her bitter towards Jin Zhao ( someone she saw affiliated solely to Jin Qiang) and over protective of Jiang Mu. Thus there was always a lack of emotional stability for both Zhao and Mu. The only solution to this for them was to find stability, strength and love in each other.

I found Jin Zhao to be the most rational, level headed and understanding protagonist of any drama to date. Yes you see men caring, loving and ready to go the extra mile for their lady love but the idea that he dedicated his entire life to her is unthinkable. He remembered and provided everything she ever needed be it food, love, strength, academic knowledge, adolescent coming of terms or quiet companionship. He definitely was the north star to her ship regardless of wherever she floated. He remembered his promises to her and kept them. Her safety and happiness were paramount to him regardless of his own feelings in the matter. It takes a lot to sacrifice one's entire life for someone else's happiness that too willingly and Jin Zhao did it because he didn't want to be "The Bastard" who would make her suffer. To him she was already a living breathing miracle, her life alone was the biggest gift that he had received in his life. I am blown away by this kind of selfless, caring and giving love that too for a single entity. I loved Jin Zhao's love for her.

I found Mu Mu to be the perfect companion for Jin Zhao. She was the only one who kept him grounded, made him feel he mattered and loved. The tears she shed for him "Left him Defenseless" in his own words. I realized how deep her love for him ran when she broke down completely after his accident. That single scene encapsulated her entire being for me, her sorrowful cries and her struggle to crawl to find him despite being mentally broken left me speechless. Esther did such a fabulous job portraying MuMu's angst, her darkest fears turning to reality culminating in the deepest sorrow she could ever bear, not knowing whether the man she loved was dead or alive. I cried so hard with her. When Mu Mu found him again I was more angry at him than her. How dare he push her away, make choices for her and break her heart. She had every right to know what happened to him yet those years were robbed from her. When she says "Anything from him would suffice even an emoji" it broke my heart to pieces. She deemed him heartless and rightfully so. However MuMu turned out to be a more magnanimous person than I could ever be. She kept going back to him till she broke all his defenses, flattened the barriers he had erected around himself under the false guise of protecting her. Shout out to MuMu to loving Jin Zhao with equal intensity , equal depth and understanding. She kept calling him back from his self dug grave. She in my opinion deserves the highest honor for having such patience in the face of endless silence. She deserved every bit of Jin Zhao's love, his heart, body and soul she had earned every inch of him dedicating herself to him as he had to her.

There is so much good in this drama that words fail me. The casting, the direction, lighting, wardrobe, locations, makeup, the supporting cast, the extras. The cars and races were so exhilarating that I was pleasantly surprised. Not to meantion the scores oh my God am I hooked to Away or what! Everyone of them helped weave this beautiful tapestry of a drama.

Shout out to He Yu for making me understand what longing actually means and to have someone yet still show restraint in the face of such intense desires. That man can emote all these motions with such finesse.

The two most important scenes for me were
a. When he confesses that a lot of people have come and gone in his life but he was never serious about anyone so once she entered his life he wouldn't give her a chance to back out. The coffee that was sweet just for her. The way he stares at her eye level before asking her how she would like to taste him , the intense gaze, the breath he dared not draw, the desire that traveled down his throat to his entire body just gave me shivers, how just how could someone be so good at emoting such complex layers of emotions so deeply and excellently. That scene was just the entire drama for me. He Yu should go down in the annals of Chinese drama history for this one single scene. The kiss that followed was the cherry on top. That man could kiss a fish and turn it to a mermaid. I seriously love him for his kisses alone.

b. The second scene was when MuMu is at Jin Zhao's home in Nanjing during the mid autumn festival. She hugs him from behind and asks him to not ask him to let go of him. She confesses that even after all this time apart he is the only one she has always truly loved. That scene stood out to me because when she says that would he say nothing to her the defeat was visible in her eyes. That it was the end of the rope for her, she had laid herself bare to him and had still not received a response from him. That she had lost the battle between her dignity and her heart and that her heart body and soul yearned for him. The way her eyes pleaded to him and her tears dropped from them it just shattered my perception of love so bad. The idea of any sort of pride in love was so foolish because all her dignity, pride and self esteem had been steam rolled in that confession. I loved her, I loved her love for Jin Zhao. Love essentially is a very humbling experience.

All in all an excellent watch. I do wish the second half had been shortened and the first half extended, my heart is still wandering in the garage in Thailand where a man living on the edge has vowed to win everything in a single race. Love, love, love you Jin Zhao!!!!

thank you wattpad story come to life!

what a way to end 2025, y'all. a smoking hot cast, fast and furious drifting, ugh and the yearning. their chemistry is insane together. it should be studied. it should be replicated at every opportunity. more mechanic male leads in tank tops! we ate good with this one 🙇‍♀️

admittedly the second half wasn't as good imo as the first half. I wasn't a huge fan of the trope they pulled and it made the ending drag a little for me but c'est la vie 🤷‍♀️ I'll never forget what we had in Thailand 🩷🩷

Two diametrically opposed characters

I will pre-cursor this by saying I only care the acting, characterization, and the overall storyline/plot progression. From these narrow areas of interest, I have come to two conclusions. First, Hu Yu was a god in this. He is the only reason I stayed. The love, compassion, devotion, and yearning pours from his eyes and from every motion of his being. It slowly fills up your soul and sets it alight.

On the other hand, Su Mu (using the character's name on purpose because it's not the actress's fault. I know her to be a good actress) is hands down the worst female character of her type I have ever seen. You say a 2 dementional character to describe a character that lacks depth. She was a 1 dimentional character. She was negative depth. There was no presence to even build depth off of. She was fluff if a piece of fluff had already been ingested and then regurgitated by an alley rat after a trip through the sewers. That's how the existence of her character made me feel. Truly gag-reflex-inspiring. The closest I could get to describing her character would be ditsy, but there was not enough of a presence to even build that claim off of. She would have had to carry out actions. She would have to move through space and create an effect on space and time, but space and time came across her and turned their noses up at her and gagged in disgust.

You read in the description that she became his navigator, but that's if you count 15 seconds of reading the directions off of google maps (or their equivalent). Some comments claim she was a metaphorical navigator, but you could have put a stick figure with her eyes across from him, and that wouldn't have changed the story one iota (actually, it might have been better). As long as he had something to direct his smolder, the show was heart-stopping. I wouldn't say she's the ultimate bad representation of womanhood because that would require her to represent something. But I did feel shame that she exists. And I am a woman.

It was such a conundrum because her character made me feel a combination of nausea and shame, and his character was compelling and mind-blowingly magnetic. But with that magnetism, you didn't need anything else. But it also meant that you didn't get anything else (character-wise).

I gave the story a 7.5 because the story was good, and it wasn't the story's fault she was negative presence. I gave acting 8 because she was just acting her character, and while she does often play annoying, ditsy characters, that doesn't mean she's a bad actress; it just means I don't like the characters she plays. Maybe, in fact, it means she's doing a great job because they annoy me so much.

Finally, I gave a 9 for rewatch value because I went back and replayed every time he looked at her. It wasn't just one type of emotion or look. They were endless. The depths his eyes held multitudes... and made up for her negative lack of presence! But in the end, her character brought the total down to a flat 7. Sorry, world! Hopefully, its popularity means He Yu is getting the accolades he deserves, while at the same time, no other producer ever considers a character like her again. It would be pretty hard, now that I think about it. She was certainly unique in that way.

The tension and angst killed me

Production:
- The aesthetics, colors, and cinematography in Thailand are amazing. Its giving Tokyo Drift.

- Impeccable wardrobe and styling for all the characters. Esther Yu wardrobe never disappoints.

- I adore the OST.

Plot
- The plot is nothing special. The drama focused more on its characters and their interactions.

- Zhao and mom’s whole interaction wasn’t shown in the book. It was the most heartwarming part of the show so Im glad it was added. Seeing Zhao plead and be accepted 💚

Chemistry:
- The romance is pure intensity and sexual tension. I give most of the credit to HeYu for this. Man knows how to make tension out of thin air.

- The book was a lot more adult. After their first time, Jin Zhao initiated sex whenever he was alone with her. Im shook.
“The soundproofing here is excellent. No need to hold back.”

“Some traditions shouldn’t be broken. A woman doesn’t take the lead her first time.”

Characters:
- Zhao is such an acts of service guy. He provides princess treatment and spoils her rotten. But he keeps making decisions on her behalf. He didn’t even grovel for ghosting our princess for 6 yrs and never making an attempt to reach out. Like why is she the one chasing you again sir?

- The burden of making the first move ALWAYS fell on Mu’s shoulders. She initiates all the clinging, flirty remarks, love confessions and skinship. Her efforts alone started and rekindled their romantic relationship. Without her trying, their story might have never progressed past yearning stage. The real green flag.

- Sin Lai is an amazing friend. My shaylaa
“Why are your shoelaces always untied?”
“Im afraid if I squat down and tie them, no one will wait for me”

- Ngl, I expected the father’s role to play a bigger part in the story. Wasn’t a very impactful presence.

- Lin Sui also felt like such a randomly written character that served no purpose. He wasn’t the villain nor the love rival we initially thought. His role is basically be the rich guy offering Zhao help at random moments.

Casting:
- Everyone was SO HOT 🔥.

- HeYu has great yearner/ bedroom eyes. His stares and little smiles make me melt. Perfect for a role like this. My pick for standout actor this entire drama.

- Esther has a good mix of baddie and cutesy diva princess. Mu’s styles and personality actually matches hers irl.

- Mike Angelo’s chemistry with Esther IRL is so much fun and makes for such a funny third wheel.
