Wasted Potential

Speed and Love could’ve been a really good drama. At first, I was really drawn in by the racing world, the Thai atmosphere, and the garage setting with its gritty, oily aesthetic. It gave the drama a strong identity right away. He Yu as Zhin Shao also stood out a lot, cold, distant, and very much the classic bad boy, he’s really magnetic and makes you want to know what’s behind his character.

The beginning is genuinely addictive, with a strong mix of racing, danger, romance, and intensity. It really felt like the drama had something special going for it.

But later on, it starts to lose its impact. The story becomes softer and more predictable, especially as the focus shifts away from racing. The darker, more intense tone fades, and it turns into something more basic and overly sweet, which is disappointing given the strong start.

Visually, it looks good, with strong cinematography and nice color grading, but the execution doesn’t fully match the aesthetics. The storytelling feels uneven and underdeveloped, which wastes a lot of the potential.

I made it to episode 20, but it also gives a very Wattpad-like feeling, with pacing issues and episodes that are too long, which makes everything feel stretched out.

I also never really felt any chemistry between the main couple. Most of their interactions felt empty, superficial, and overly cheesy, without much emotional depth or tension. Their relationship never truly felt convincing to me. Honestly, I found the FL had much better chemistry with Lin Sui, and their dynamic felt far more natural and engaging to watch.

As for the acting, especially Esther, I have mixed feelings. She clearly has talent, but her character is written in a very childish way, which limits her performance.

In the end, it has great visuals and atmosphere, but the writing doesn’t do it justice.

I Truly love this series

I’m so happy that this series has finally been released after months of waiting.
I read the novel and absolutely loved it, and I kept imagining the series in my mind—especially Jin Chao, my favorite character.
This series is truly amazing. I was so happy on the day it was released that I cried with joy.
The love in this series is portrayed so beautifully, and I literally scream over everything Jin Chao does. I truly adore him.
Every morning when I open my eyes, the first thing I think about is this series, and at night I fall asleep thinking about it. I hope this time leaves me with many beautiful memories.

The sooner you finish it, the sooner you'll want to start it over again

I had high expectations for this drama and thank God I wasn't disappointed!
I won't talk about He Yu and his Jin Zhao because his acting is great and the character is the perfect modern version of Prince Charming without being excessively cheesy. Caring, madly in love, sexy, stubborn, troubled...the perfect mix!
I want to focus more on Mu Mu. Either you love her or you hate her, but even with her flaws she seems to always perfectly fit in the moment. After a few episodes you can predict her every reaction, but this doesn't turn her into a boring character. This because I think that in Chinese dramas' girls are much more than Korean FL for exemple.
In kdrama girls are either crazy bitches or shy and defenseless damsel. In the cdramas I watched, instead, you find iron ladies pretending to be weak, acting like innocent little girls, when in reality they are ironical, mischievous, funny, brave and strong, focused on their goals and faithful to their feelings and selfs.

Im watching cdramas for a long time now and its rare for modern drama mainly idol to have good storylines..cuz they are not ancient and can be boring as hell!
Plot is not slow and going with steady speed..really like how they are progressing in relation and how well misunderstanding between them resolving

Leads chm is insane, they do romance from eyes ifykyk. Jiangmu potrayel of Esther was really well good. Car racing scenes have my heart🔥🏎
Its rare in cdramas to find such storyline..so im hoping you all enjoy it without any fandoms fight and hate things🎐
