A Rescue Drama That Started Off Good But Had A Sharp Decline Towards the End
If this drama was solely focused about the rescue team like trainings & rescue missions, I would give this a 10/10. However, as you know with dramas, adding background stories of our leads, romance including the leads and 2 other couples, and other drama elements can impact one's final rating depending on where the direction the writer and director takes.I didn't have no issues with the rescue aspect of this drama. In fact, this was my favorite part of this drama and is why I kept watching it. I like seeing the training scenes. I like the rescue missions as they always kept me anticipating what's going to happen. I like seeing the hardships one goes through when volunteering including losing someone who risked their lives to save others.
Where the drama lost a lot of points for me is the last 10 episodes. Too much was going on and I felt like this could've been easily spread out to several episodes before. Also, I just don't like how this writer wanted to show problems within the last 5 episodes from finale which leads to a rushed ending, an okay ending but definitely not as satisfying as it could've been. An annoying & rude mother in-law which I don't know why the writer thought this was a good idea. It just wasted so much screen time that could've been given to our lead couples and their issues. Also, the lack of communication for the main leads and for them not to support each other and just giving up after encountering their near-death experience with each other. Did our leads forget that? Such bad writing for their characters. What happened to character growth? It's almost like it never happened towards the end.
Overall, the rescue mission scenes are what sold for me to continue to watch it. The actual plot itself was kind all over the place with so many content the writers wanted to show between the 3 couples. Because of this, the main issue revolving our main leads took until the last 10 to 12 episodes to be presented. Great intro & ending credit ost though but not a drama I would rewatch.

It's a good drama about civil rescuing, but kinda lame!!
Light Chaser Rescue, a Non-Government voluntary organization, conducts rescue operations during various calamities. It's a great drama about disaster and civil rescue. The production was great, the cast choice was awesome. All of the production team, including the cast, did an incredible job while making this drama. I had several eye soothing moments while watching this play. I enjoyed it. I rated it 8/10 on mdl. I still have some questions about the plot though.Let me ask, why a Non-Government voluntary organization, run by some part timer non-professional rescuer, operate on every disaster like traffic accident, fire accident, earthquake incident, mountain rescue, landslide and even from snow-covered mountains? Do China don't have any 'Fire Service & Civil Defense' force? Do they not have any dedicated force for rescue in the time of needs like Army or something? Why are the police and other organizations always asking for help from a voluntary organization instead of dedicated professionals? Even in the last moment, when Dr. Yan gone missing in the Snow Mountain, that happened in a different providence, they asked help from Light Chaser Rescue! I know they had a member in the lost team so they came to get their member. But again, isn't there any other government authority to conduct emergency rescue operations? Why did they have to come from a different providence to rescue their team member? Even when Luo Ben gone missing while rescuing Dr. Yan, on other authorities showed their faces! A voluntary organization of non-professionals from different providence with the help of locals conducting a serious 'Search & Rescue' in other providence, but no other government dedicated force showed up to help them. Isn't it kinda lame?
If it was the case that they were also conducting rescue operations along with other government forces, it would have looked much better. But the way they presented the whole thing to make Light Chaser Rescue the hero, it seems that there is no dedicated government force in China to conduct rescue operations. Or even if the government forces are so lame that everyone always seeks help from a volunteer organization. China's whole civil defense relies on a non-professional volunteer organization run by some part-timer rescuer whom had another full-time job, is that even logical? Isn't it kinda insulting for the country?

too many forced accidents
Watch this of course for our lead, Janice Wu & Luo Yun Xi. I must say I'm disappointed with this drama. They forced too many good things that happen here. Every problem get the result by the next scene or next ep.The forced accidents that I notice (not by order, just by my memory):
- Zhou Ming Ming (MM) being teased by his friend, the next thing that happen, those friends need to be saved by him & got forced to do all the rescuer exercises, so they got to know what it feel like to be the rescuer.
- When MM need money for his company, the next moment there is someone invest in his company.
- Zhan Yan (ZY) need to confirm her feeling for Luo Ben (LB), the next thing that happen, they trapped together & get the moment together. Same thing happen with Ding Ding Ding (DDD), when she need to confess to MM, the next thing that happen, the accident where MM saved her.
- One of the most stupid forced things when MM want to married DDD. They obviously on the fight mode, after MM's mom visit DDD's parent, and they also break up. Still DDD upload the comic where she tell the story of their character being proposed. It's just the same with you put on bulletin board what do you want. When MM see that, just light bulb in his head, he go proposed without need to find out first why DDD angry & break up with him.
- When LB need reason to go visit ZY in the village after they fight & break up. Of course the next thing that happen, something happen to ZY where LB need to rescue her.
- When Da Peng need money for his daughter illness, the next thing that happen, someone offered big piled of money, of course with the clause he has to follow.
- After Xiong Fei (XF) just learning sign language, Luo Yuan (LY) just easily and conveniently using sign language like he understand all...
- Almost every ep, there were something need rescued. Expecially related with raining & floated.
Apart from all the forced accidents that happen, there are also several things that minus in a way:
- The moment LB forgive ZY's dad. In my opinion it's just lack one scene, where they talk heart to heart. Unfortunately what we got only after the confession that Zhan Qing Shan made, the next thing we know LB & him already casually talk like nothing ever happen between them.
- We don't know what happen in ZY's head after she broke up with LB. LB said he contacted her few times but she never picked up. WHY? What r u afraid of. The forgiveness must come from LB's side. For me the moment he's already contact her that mean he's already let go of the past. Why doesn't she pick up the phone...????
Every drama still have good & bad things. The good thing:
+ The Humanity aspect for the volunteer rescue squad. Not everything can be measure with money.
+ How to not judge book by its cover. XF is former inmate, but that's doesn't mean he did something bad for it
+ How to fight for something. I don't know this actually good or bad point. But everything that LB did to XF & LY kinda good & bad. Good because yeah finally we know for sure what XF willing to sacrificed for LY, but at the same time it's also bad because it's a little bit too much for me. That's also why almost all the rescue squad misunderstood LB in the first place.
+ I really like the character of DDD. Although yes DDD sometimes like has no manner, but I really like how thick her face when she deal with MM's mom. She's takes no for answer, no matter how rude MM's mom was, until she forced to accept DDD & see her with new perspective.
+ The forgiveness. How in the end ZY forgive her dad.
+ No crazy love rival. Yeah we got love rival. But I love how easy they let go their feeling. It's the mature things to do. Expecially LB's friend (I forget her name), after LB reject the watch from her & said those words, she just understand & let go without go crazy. I really like how when she about to go abroad she still turn for the last time like she's still heavy to release the feeling.
Although I watch this for Janice Wu & Luo Yun Xi. But one of my biggest disappointment is the chemistry between Janice Wu & Luo Yun Xi. Something strange about them, like something not click between them. I don't know it's just because of the character of the actor themselves, expecially from Janice, I feel Janice feeling so tense toward Luo Yun Xi. Yeah I know her character is kinda cold & don't understand romantic feeling. That's why I told you that I don't know it's just because of the character of the actor themselves.
Overall this just another drama to watch

About a rescue team
Story basically based on a rescue team that how they performed their work at the time of emergency ,and all those emergencies caused due to disaster ,it may be natural disaster like earthquake ,flood or may be human made disaster like fire . And they have lots of responsibility in their shoulder . They have to make sure nobody die while resume operation but sometime they failed in saving a life ,that time becomes a hard time for them . For many days they can't sleep with the thought that they cannot able to save a life . Just to increased the audience interest towards drama they add three parallel love stories and one had some emotional story which connect viewers emotionally.I like the story . I watched it full. I not only connected with love stories but also with the emotion of rescue team .

This is my favorite drama. From the title to the actors to the plot and to the production, I love it so much.
I want the actors to act together again cause their chemistry is so amazing that I want to see more.
The chemistry between the second leads and their own story and romance are also commendable.
To add, I think you should watch more dramas of Janice Wu . She is such a great actor and a person too. I want more dramas of Janice Wu with her as the main lead. If anyone of the entertainment agency sees this, please appraise Janice Wu and us Janice Wu fans.

Watch for the thrills, not the romance
OVERALLIt's a decent disaster drama but a subpar relationship drama so watch it if you're into the former, not the latter.
THE STORY
There are things I really like about this drama. Three, to be exact. First, female lead is probably the most mature I've seen. I LOVE how she is completely unbothered by the cliché third-wheel girl who's convinced she can get Male Lead even though he doesn't want her. Female Lead has zero insecurity around the relationship and saves us from the usual jealousy scenes. She also has a lot of self-respect and dignity and doesn't let people trample all over her. Secondly, I really appreciated the representation of people with "disabilities" through Male Lead's sister who is deaf. What I like is that they didn't confine her to a bubble, she ended up being just like any other character and having her own love story. The third thing I really liked was precisely her love story, which is really cute and relatively drama free. Apart from these three things, I also enjoyed the disaster situations in which the main cast was found and seeing some of the work rescue teams do to help people. This drama really makes you appreciate the effort of people who put their lives at risk every day to save complete strangers.
But there are many issues with this drama that were just hard to swallow. First, I wasn't a huge fan of Male Lead. He's not terrible, I've seen worse, but he doesn't come off as supportive of Female Lead and some of the thing he does, especially towards the end...it's just a letdown. I couldn't appreciate the character afterwards. Secondly, the main love story is pretty much a fail. It starts out fine, then becomes increasingly watered down so that by the end you don't feel a thing for the OTP. There aren't many emotional scenes, there isn't much skinship either, it's just underwhelming. Lastly, there's a third couple that is absolutely insufferable and is getting WAY too much screentime in my opinion (especially in the second half of the drama).
Overall, it's a decent filler. Feel free to watch when you're bored. Just don't expect too much and don't come in for romance.
THE ACTING
Ok.
THE MUSIC
Ok.
REWATCH VALUE
Not very high.

This drama was amazing. I was a bit hesitant to watch this bc of the actors. Luo yunxi is on of my favorite male actors and I ship him with bai Lu. Same with janice wu I ship her with Zhang Xincheng so it was a bit hard to accept the pair. The show is just one of the shows that you start watching and can’t stop. It made me cry at the part where luo yunxi left Janice wu bc of her dad since they matched each other perfectly in the show. But in real life I still think luo yunxi and bai Lu is the best ship ever Was this review helpful to you?
A drama about volunteer rescue in China.
I'm giving this a higher rating than I might based on reviewing it as a didactic example of how rescue squads operate, and as a recruiting device for volunteerism.Though some of the marketing makes it look like a cp drama, it is in fact an ensemble cast, with the focus being on the diverse people that make up volunteer rescue squads. It’s very politically safe and I was not surprised they chose to air it during the party congress.
Surprisingly for the moralistic/didactic theme, I thought all the couples were really cute and well done, so if you want romance, there is some. The special effects and sets were realistic, and everyone’s tragic backstory was tragic. You may need tissues for this one if you’re a crier.
The point is that everyone has a role to play - yes, even Ding Ding Ding. She kinda grew on me by the end.
It wasn’t without some super cringe moments though (spoiler: the little orphan would be doubly scarred for life by their wildly inappropriate attempts to help him 'heal’) but in general was ok.
Wu Qian was really good - I’d only seen her in two things when she was much younger, and she really is a mature, talented actress. Her character was written as cold and uncompromising though, so it was hard to really like or relate to her. Luo Yunxi turned in a decent performance as a disaster survivor with MAJOR PTSD who has a laundry list of issues that he really should be working through with a therapist but...it's cdrama land so we can't do that.
Pros: acting, special effects, ensemble cast, cute dog
Cons: not enough of the cute dog, didactic and moralizing, choppy editing and weak plot that made it feel a little like 'how to survive x disaster’ instructional videos strung together rather than a coherent drama

The cast is good, but most of the actors didn't dress their characters, the protagonist couple's romance doesn't convey the emotion of two people in love, despite the text being quite emotional.
The direction made a mistake in casting actors that did not match the characters, in not taking advantage of the rescue scenes (the rescue itself was rarely shown, only the preliminaries, but the apex of the moment was only implied), rushed and poorly elaborated ending, characters forgotten throughout the drama, but he was masterful in amplifying the emotion of the scenes with the right use of the soundtrack.

I wanted to like it...
Production wise, it's ok.Acting wise, it's not horrible. The actors, both leads and supporting, do an overall good job.
Story wise, it's alright. There are multiple storylines to follow (which can make it feel a little choppy sometimes).
1) My favourite storyline would probably be either Dr. Zhan and her father (if it's more developed going forward) or Xiong Fei and Luo Yuan (balancing getting to know each other and their own lives and aspirations).
2) My favourite character is Falcon (he's fun, caring and has depth as a character). A close second is Xiong Fei or Dr. Zhan's nurse friend (though we don't see much of her).
3) My least favourite character and storyline is Ding DingDing. Her introduction leaves a bad taste and I have not been able to warm up to her or Zhou Ming. Dr. Cai was also a torn in my side, but at least he was never (at least not yet) portrayed as a main or sympathetic character.
But the other storylines. characters and relationships feel flat. Even actors who have good chemistry together come off as kinda illogical or rushed. And that makes the show as a whole extremely underwhelming. For the first about the 10 episodes, I was watching the entire thing. But afterwards I found myself fast-forwarding alot.
Still not sure how I feel about Luo Ben. I think he's a good person, and there are definitely some great characteristics or traits there, but he feels almost… 2D. Predictable and kinda underwhelming-ly unchanging. The same could probably be said about Dr. Zhan. And maybe that's my greatest gripe with this drama, because I decided to watch it partly because of the director and partly because of Lou Yun Xi and Janice Wu,

Serious miscasting
Please don't get me wrong, I love LYX, but in my opinion this was a terrible role for him. He's a beautiful ethereal dream of a man who despite his best acting efforts could not convince me that he was physically capable of the rescue feats his character performed. As the competent lawyer though? Yes please I'll sign up for more of that.Unfortunately, very few of the supporting characters were likeable or believable. All the regular tropes showed up - the envious/scheming alternate love interests, the emotionally damaged *everyone*, the sweet innocent female relative who has to be protected, the nasty potential mother-in-law... you get the picture.
In the end I skipped through a lot of the last 12 or so episodes just to see how the resolution was achieved. It was ok. But probably not worth the effort to get there. I ended up feeling rather early that if these people just talked to each other we could have ended the drama much earlier. Possibly episode 2.
