Dont judge a book by its cover
I usually enjoy some thriller, deep intricated plot. But watching *Boyfriend on Demand* gave me nostalgia of romcom era of kdrama in a perfect way. Like that 2016-20 era of drama.Have been a really long time since enjoyed romcom this much. I was gliggly, blushing and laughing throught the series. My teen self would've devoured this and fricking loved this so much. As Jisoo said *Classic, not Clićhe*. This drama has almost all the classics, Chaebol love, high school love, Office romance. And I want some of that me romcom.
I totally enjoyed this. Hate train is....... as always unecessary.
Watch and try yourself keeping aside the usual hate perspective. And also people saying they hate Ai and hence hate this drama, Like where the heck is AI?? Do they not understand the concept of Virtual Reality? It is understandable people hate Generative AI but lol.... atleast get the whole idea about something you hate on.
If you want to watch a lighthearted series with not all those unecessary plot twist and drag the shit out of drama, You will enjoy it.

Why so hate lmao.......
I do understand people might feel lacking on jisoo's acting but honestly she isn't supposed to be the best yet, she's still a new actress. Considering its her third drama, i feel she did a good job. Some expressions feel stiff but other than that great acting! I don't like how some people are comparing her with great actresses with a lot of experience like go younjung. Like girl bfr......Talking about seo inguk, he's an amazing actor, in less screentime he still shines. I loved his acting i can tell why people call him king of romance lol.
The best part about the show are the cameos and the stories revolving them. The CEO couple and the campus couple (so much chemistry on this one). The most underrated one is the EX couple. They had so much potential to be the leads, they were my most favourite couple in the show so far. (Petition to make sungcheol and jisoo main leads in a drama plss I'm begging) Some of their scenes broke me literally, I was crying my ass off lmao. And also I lovee love the singles inferno references as a big SI lover.
Some things I didn't like:
- could've had more episodes, it was too short.
-the main story around jisoo and inguk kinda felt lost bcs of more focus on the AI boyfriends. I mean i liked every scenes of the AI part but isn't inguk the lead.
- (this one might be underrated) they could've given more background on the ex. Like the missing of a birthday cannot be the only reason bfr, could've shown more.
- sometimes jisoo's acting felt stiff. I agree , when she acted annoyed or was crying loudly, she feels a bit unnatural but ig there's time for her to learn!! She's a beginner actress and has some flaws in her acting. But she still has room to improve.
Overall: great drama !! I can rewatch again after finishing it. I cannot bear the low ratings it didn't deserve. Some of the people even started rating it low after 1-3 hours of its release writing they watched the whole of it and how they hated every thing. Idc though, I liked it and I would definitely recommend yall to watch!! Don't listen to haters lmao you'll like it if you do but that's okay if you didn't. Everyone has different opinions and remember constructive criticism is okay but hating is not :)
Have a good day.

The cinematography of this drama is amazing the vibe of this drama is also so cool . The rich boyfriend theme is also that I like the most .Was this review helpful to you?
Rom Com of fantasy AI world?
I am usually very selective with K-dramas, but I decided to binge this one mainly because of the leads. Here’s my verdict—purely my personal opinion.
Rom-Com: 💯
This drama is structured as a sweet, lighthearted rom-com, so it’s best not to expect too much narrative depth.
Theme:
The concept is interesting, especially the idea of an AI boyfriend. However, I felt the premise had much more potential than what was actually explored. The AI theme ends up feeling somewhat wasted. That said, I did enjoy the school arc—it was one of the more engaging parts of the story.
Angst / Character Growth:
Naturally, there isn’t much here. As expected from a rom-com, the story relies heavily on familiar tropes—pride and prejudice, misunderstandings, and miscommunication. We also get the classic “ideal male lead” whose heart and attention are devoted entirely to the female lead. While charming in a fantasy sense, it doesn’t feel particularly realistic. Because of this, I didn’t really sense a meaningful growth arc for the characters.
Acting:
Both leads performed well. I’m actually surprised to see some of the harsh comments directed at Jisoo. Personally, I thought she did a solid job here—although I still prefer her performance in Snowdrop.
CP Chemistry:
The chemistry between the main couple could have been stronger. Perhaps because there were so many well-known cameo appearances from other male leads, I found myself distracted. As a result, the main couple’s relationship felt somewhat plot-driven and a bit superficial.
Other Relationships:
I really liked the lady author character—her ending felt particularly bittersweet to me. I also found the dynamic between the editor and the author quite interesting. The female lead’s best friend stood out as well; among the characters, she felt like the one who experienced the most growth.
Final Thoughts:
The drama touches on the idea of AI relationships replacing human ones, and that’s something I find troubling. If we choose to live in an idealized fantasy—whether in life or in love—how do we learn from our mistakes and grow? Real relationships require tolerance, compromise, and acceptance. Without those struggles, it’s hard to build something truly lasting.
If you want something to past time and feel mild fluffiness, this is. fun watch.

Why "Boyfriend On Demand" is a 2026 Masterpiece
If you are looking for the ultimate romantic escape, look no further than "Boyfriend On Demand." This series isn't just a drama; it's a cultural phenomenon that has rightfully claimed the #1 spot on Netflix global charts. At the heart of this success is JISOO, who delivers a career-defining performance as Mi-rae. Shaking off her global idol persona, she embodies a witty, relatable, and deeply emotional character with stunning maturity. Whether she is navigating hilarious "contract dating" mishaps or delivering a heart-wrenching breakup scene, JISOO proves she is a formidable actress with incredible range.
The show’s "subscription dating" premise is genius, allowing JISOO to showcase different facets of her charm alongside an elite roster of leading men. Her innocent, nostalgic chemistry with Seo Kang-joon will make your heart flutter, while her intense, sophisticated tension with Seo In-guk is absolutely magnetic.
With its high-fashion aesthetic, dreamlike cinematography, and a soundtrack that stays stuck in your head, the production quality is top-tier. "Boyfriend On Demand" is the perfect blend of humor, visual perfection, and genuine emotion. Don't miss out on the show everyone is talking about in 2026—JISOO is truly in her prime!

Mushy, light and rewatchable
There's always something wrong in every drama, and this one is not entirely perfect either.IMO, ML dint get enough screentime in the first half, and was kinda just there without much to do... but then again, the ML is Seo In-Guk, so he still makes doing nothing look ridiculously sexy and good.
Having said that, it's still totally worth watching and even re-watching after some weeks or months.
It's a good escape series between some serious ones. A drama where you don't need to think or be too focused. It's light hearted, mushy, cushy, cozy and every episode brings a smile on your face somehow. I like how non-judgemental the characters are amongst themselves. Be it friends, colleagues, clients, and/or significant others.
The silliness is a welcome change. The young are wiser, and the relatively elder are childish most times. This dynamic age group really works for the drama.
I enjoyed it, I hope everyone just kicks off their shoes, and unwinds with this one. I'd say instead of trying to find deep philosophical meaning to the script, just grab some pop-corn, cozy up with your loved ones (friends or SO), and share a few moments of contemplation along this journey.
