This drama promises something unique in the romcom world and delivered more than that
I honestly just finished binging this and I am still thinking about it. I wasn't sure what to expect with the whole virtual boyfriend thing, but I ended up being so hooked. Jisoo was definitely the best part of the whole show for me. She was so good at playing someone who is just completely done with everything, and her acting felt really natural, especially when she was being awkward or stressed out at her job. It didn't feel like some fake TV version of a person; it felt like someone you actually know. The mix of the high-tech dating stuff and the regular office drama worked way better than I thought it would. Was this review helpful to you?
writing this as a kdrama fan which i became way before i dived into kpop and blackpink
if u want to explore lots of genre's at once please give it a go its gonna be so worth it.as someone who was once a binge watcher of almost every kdrama, but these days it was really hard to find one. first ep do keep me seated but then they dramas felt like they fell off hook. started watching as a jisoo fan but trust me, the whole story is so freaking interesting. the casting was of course one of the main reasons to keep someone seated. and then the colouring. it was really good too it felt so lively. and as i kept watching it felt like something that could actually happen in real life. some of it is already happening, how some women are using AI to feel closer to their favourite fictional characters. who knows when the use of VR might start as well. watched the first 2 ep at first then binge watched the rest of it. gotta say the story was superb and jisoo's acting has improved a lot. it felt like the character came to real life. and watching her experience dating her VR bf's it makes u wanna say ""wait we want more of their story"". as for me it happened with her 2nd date. please cast them together in a series with the exact same theme T-T. anyway if i try to say anything i might end up giving spoilers which i dont wanna do, i kept myself away from watching spoiler videos or edits and it was a really good decision.

I love it!!!
It made me laugh so much. I loved their acting, it was such a fun series to watch. I binged watched it because of how good it was. I loved the chemistry. I loved the storylines between the dates in the boyfriend in demand world, it showcased how sometimes the lines between reality and virtual reality can be thinned, but there are times where it is going to be very apparent when you start thinking about it in the real world. Overall, I really love it.Was this review helpful to you?

Highly Amused~
Hmmmm.........I thought it was good. Wife loved it too~Episodes 1 and 2 set the stage. If you never read the synopsis or saw the stills for the drama, or didnt know anything at all, those 2 eps immediately let you know what kind of drama to expect upon viewing~
Pure comedy...........this drama spared no expense at ripping, ridiculing, making fun of, and destroying all of the tags and themes that are associated with the rom com genre with no mercy. You'll know exactly what I mean by EP 3. It was freaking hilarious. They took shots at ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. I didn't feel there were any attempts to do much other than have a few giggles~
Think about all the different kinds of scenes dramas use when they introduce love interests with all the genres out there. We've seen them over and over again and we holler cliche. That's not the term they used. It was classic. And from there on, the drama sets forth on recreating those classic introductions and tags in the name of comedy. There was an end credit scene in ep 6 or 7 that made me bite my tongue laughing. 🤣😖
Cast was solid. Jisoo doesn't have the kind of weight associated with strong FL's just yet, a little bit underwhelming but I think she's been getting better with each passing performance while ML is more or less a certified star. Supporting cast was loaded with familiar faces and there was a large number of cameos with stars that have a number of their own dramas as leads themselves. This was NOT a cheap production by any means~
I don't have anything negative to say about this piece. It wasn't made to win awards, it was made to deliver laughs and that's exactly what it gave my wife and I. It's a worthy watch~

Jisoo x Kang Joon hit different
The chemistry between Jisoo and Seo Kang-joon in #MonthlyBoyfriend is absolute magic! ✨ Their intense eye contact and stable acting tones make every scene so immersive. 🚀 Jisoo’s natural, lively energy perfectly complements Kang-joon’s charismatic presence. It’s a flawless blend of top-tier visuals and solid talent. A must-watch masterpiece on Netflix! 🔥🎬💖Was this review helpful to you?
It was much better than I expected...
This drama is really different but familiar. It is a rom com with many other things to look forward. It is a fun watch.I watched this drama because of Jisoo and Seo inguk and it exceeded my expectation.
I think Jisoo's acting is really good in this drama and her chemistry with Seo inguk was great.
Just give it a go if you want to watch a happy drama.

Subtitle problem
The series is really okay. The problem i have is the subtitle. VERY POOR.They're saying something, but the subtitle is saying something else, it's just too obvious. I'm still watching it because i enjoy the storyline.
Again, the subtitle is VERY POOR.

very weak for a rom-com, netflix slop
very boring but not surprised after looking at the synopsis. wanted to check it out because of the male cast but yeah, just a total romance slop with all the cliches, romanticising ai and absolutely no plot (you could squish it into a 30min episode). fl acting is horrid at moments and at other moments she's emotionless. dropped after 3,5epWas this review helpful to you?
BOD Honest Review
It’s actually refreshing. The concept feels light, a bit quirky, and different from the usual heavy K-dramas. The story doesn’t try too hard to be dramatic...it leans more into charm, fun moments, and easy watching.Kim Jisoo (Mi-rae) carries the series with a very natural and warm presence. Her acting feels more relaxed here compared to her earlier projects, and you can tell she’s more comfortable on screen. She fits the tone of the show well—soft, slightly awkward, but very charming.
Meanwhile, Seo In-guk (Kyungnam) brings a grounded energy to the series. His character feels more layered compared to the playful premise of the show, which balances the tone nicely. He’s very good at subtle expressions and quiet reactions, so even simple scenes feel engaging. His presence adds a bit of maturity and emotional weight that keeps the story from feeling too gimmicky.
Their chemistry also noticeably improves as the series progresses. In the earlier episodes, their dynamic feels a bit tentative, but in the later episodes the comfort between them becomes more natural. The banter flows better, the emotional scenes land more strongly, and their interactions start to feel more genuine rather than just scripted romantic moments. By the later parts of the show, their pairing feels believable and adds a lot of warmth to the story.
That said, the pacing can feel a little uneven, and some scenes are clearly designed to be cute rather than deeply developed. If you’re expecting a super complex plot, this might feel simple.
But if you watch it for what it is...a light, fun, slightly cheesy romantic concept with good chemistry and a fresh idea...it’s genuinely enjoyable.
Overall: Not a masterpiece, but definitely charming and worth watching if you want something easy and refreshing.
⭐ Rating: 8-9.5/10 (I enjoyed it as a fluff romcom lover)

Drama that hits every mood
This drama makes you laugh with the silly moments, then suddenly it hits you with sad scenes that feel heavy, and other times you get angry at how the characters act. It’s like riding a roller coaster of emotions. Funny, sad, frustrating all in one. That mix makes it feel real because relationships in life also have ups and downs, not just sweet parts but challenges too.Was this review helpful to you?
A fun romccom and good to watch
First thing I love it's VR dating idea . I love Jisoo and Seo Kang Joon's chemistry . But some unnecessary things also included I wish that scene is not including in the drama . Some supporting character feels like nothing and don't connect with me . Jisoo's character backstory is so good I also think they should include Seo in guk's character backstory . It's just a romcom so go watch it .Was this review helpful to you?

Refreshing Script and Good Cast
If Boyfriend on Demand drama was 16 episodes length drama, I would give much rating, because the Boyfriend on Demand program's dating parts actually takes half of the show, we couldn't see leads' dating phase very well. It could have been well demonstrated.I would like to see much scenes with In-guk and Jisoo. The chemistry was eye-catching.
While watchingthe drama, it made my heart fluttered, I found myself smiling all the time. Because it is like an enemy to lover kinda drama, which is my favourite rom-com type.
I thought watching dating parts would be cringey, especially with Lee Soo-Hyuk. But suprisingly it made me want to date with him lol.
All actors and actresses were so good. The side actresses and actors are well-known people, so it was fun to watch. Jisoo did a great job as well. I hope Jisoo hate train ends. Casting did a great job for selecting Jisoo and In-guk as leads.
Overall, it had a refreshing script and it is perfect for binge watching! Highly recommend.
