Boyfriend on demand

Warning after reading everything I have written - it is chaotic review (sorry not sorry) and it contains spoilers (sadly also for some other dramas) - have a nice read :D

Short summary would be - typical, light romcom, perfect to relax. Personally I feel like if you liked Business Proporsal then you will like this. Of course I can be a little biased since I love Seo In Guk and Jisoo but I really believe that it was perfect drama in this genre. Plot is like a mix of: 7 first kisses, Love alarm and Drama stage Love spoiler. Just the same vibe. Although I am a little curious why this app was only for girls, it could be just "dating app" - although I do not know if people would like it if it was "Girlfriend on demand".

Before I will go to characters I want to point out two missed opportunities - Of course I know that in both cases there would be probably copyright issues but they could make it work:
1. since there were so many cameos and they actually were some horror/ bloody scenes I hardly believe that they should make two a little longer scenarios: one for Snowdrop with Jung Hae In since so many people love Jisoo's chemistry with him and one for Newtopia with Park Jeong Min since I love it so much and need more of them.
2. since SIG's character was drawing some couples I believe that it was perfect to draw his previous drama couples.

Now about cameos: there were so many and they were perfect.
Seo Kang Jun was more like a second lead and their storyline was cute - also he had amazing eyes color in it. Chemistry was on point. Their story was nice and cute.
I only wished we got a little more a storyline with bodyguard and enemies to lovers - simply I like this vibe.

I was also happy for some reunions:
SIG and Lee Soo Hyuk.
Netwopia between Jisoo and Lee Hak Joo (he was really fun characters, wished a little that it was a scenario with him, cause their chemistry in Newtopia was nice),
Snowdrop with Yoo In Na and Jisoo,
YG's family between Jisoo, LSH and Yoo In Na.

Moving on to actors/characters:
Jisoo - no, her acting was not bad, neither here neither in her previous roles, she was cute female lead. Her chemistry with everyone was great. She did really amazing. It was so relatable when she was cringing in too cute moments.
Seo In Guk - his character was so cute, near the end I felt that he was giving a vibe of Doom from Doom at your service (which makes me happy since it is my favourite drama) - I mean as hairstyle and some behaviors. Him in red hair, I repeat RED HAIR!!!! He looked great.
I really liked them in "real life" and in the app. In both cases their chemistry was so good and natural. I was happy that there was no unnecessary break up.
Lee Ji Yeon - was amazing friend, she was badass and crazy in good way - also her chemistry with cameos was on point.
Side note: the only other actresses which I can imagine as main female would be Park Bo Young (with SIG as main male character) or Kim Se Jeong (with I do not know who).

Talking about missed opportunities - I found some easter eggs (maybe the ones I only see but whatever):
1. When they were watching horror movie in cinema, when she said she would protect him - it reminded me about her saying that she would protect Park Jeong Min in Newtopia since she killed more zombies
2. Scene where they were reading comics and Jisoo layed her head on his laps and he gave her tangerine- it reminded me when he was reading with Park Bo Young in DAYS.
3. All in all scenes in the meadow reminded me a little of DAYS, when PBY's characters was talking with Deity.

To sum up this too long and chaotic review with too much spoilers for more than one drama XD - I believe that it deserves a chance, if you like romcoms then it is a must have, especially when episodes are not too long and there is only 10. It really is an easy and relaxing watch with cute chemistry and very likeable characters.

Boyfriend on Demand is a very funny and romantic show. It’s fantasy but still brings something fresh and comedic to the table.
It’s perfect for anybody needing a break from their own life and wanting to enter a new glamorous world, without worrying about anything else. Boyfriend on Demand really sucks you up and keeps you in the bubble filled of romance, comedy and Jisoo!

I think it’s a fresh approach seeing many stories and plots about one woman dating many different men. It feels new since a lot of the dramas I’ve watched often only focus on a few couples who stick to their own partner.

JISOO! I think she really has improved as an actress and I that this role fit Jisoo very well. She really wore so many outfits, it’s crazy! Jisoo really looked stunning in every single one of them. While I of course knew that Mi Rae would be the female lead, I was pleasantly surprised by how much screentime she had. Like she really dominated the show.

Even though I enjoyed Seo Eun Ho and Seo Mi Rae together so much, I’m really happy that she ended up with somebody from reality. I think that gives a clear message about dating AI nowadays too. Seo Mi Rae and Park Gyeong Nam made such a great couple, they were so cute together! Love to see the cute backstories, for example park Gyeong Nam staying at the office even when he didn’t have any deadline to worry about!

I was pretty sceptical about the first 1.5 episodes, but it swiftly improved and reached its peak with episode three.

Lee Ji Yeon was so funny and gorgeous, loved her and I hope she could date Min Jun Yeong.

Could have been better:

Some parts were a bit messy/confusing and I didn’t particularly love the last episode. Boyfriend on Demand is obviously a pretty light-weighted drama, so while I didn’t really expect anything deep, the absence of it is probably one of the things that stop me from connecting to the drama as much as I could have been.
Otherwise don’t really have anything to complain about.

Truly recommend it!

Best episode: Episode 3

Disclaimer: Blackpink is one of my ult groups, hence I might overpraise Jisoo a little but in my eyes she did really well!

True Review

I personally love this drama it's such a great casting. The story is good but would been great if they had made it more clear in some episode. The starting got me confused but when i kept watching i got to know what's going and to be honest slowly slowly i love it. I completed the full series in one day without any break because when you start to watching you wouldn't be able to stop yourself from not watching. The story is good in the end. It tell us that when we search for love we should check near cause near us are some of the people who loves us more then we expect without much of expectations. But we should look for them. We should make them comfortable so that they are to be feel love too.

Watched this twice to fully appreciate. In general its a light romcom that gives us the escape we need from this mundane world. IN the 2nd half of the series, it gives us a point of view that is deeper when it comes to past relationships and moving forward to new ones. For the main leads, this is also the start of heartfluttering moments as the story finally focuses on them.

I recommend to viewers to get past the 1st 3 episodes to fully appreciate the series.

*Review: A Delightful Rom-Com That Balances Heart and Humor**

*

Romantic comedies often follow familiar formulas, yet every once in a while a drama appears that refreshes the genre with charm, wit, and emotional sincerity. This particular rom-com manages to deliver exactly that. Blending lighthearted comedy with heartfelt romance, the drama creates an engaging story that feels both comforting and surprisingly meaningful.

The plot revolves around two individuals whose lives collide in the most unexpected way. At first, their personalities clash—one is cautious and practical, while the other is spontaneous and unapologetically optimistic. This contrast becomes the driving force of the story. Their arguments are witty and playful, filled with clever dialogue that often leaves viewers smiling. What makes the drama stand out is how these comedic moments never feel forced; instead, they naturally grow out of the characters’ interactions.

Visually, the drama maintains a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cinematography highlights everyday settings—cafés, city streets, quiet parks—and transforms them into places filled with romantic possibility. The soundtrack also deserves praise. Soft acoustic melodies and upbeat tracks accompany the emotional highs and lows of the story, enhancing the mood without overpowering the scenes.

One of the most compelling aspects of the drama is its character development. Both leads begin with personal insecurities and emotional baggage, which makes their journey toward love feel genuine. Instead of instantly falling for each other, they slowly learn to trust, communicate, and grow. This gradual evolution gives their relationship depth and authenticity.

The supporting characters add another layer of charm. Friends and family members provide comic relief, heartfelt advice, and occasional chaos that keeps the narrative lively. Their presence ensures the story never feels too heavy, maintaining the perfect rom-com balance between emotional vulnerability and playful humor.

Ultimately, this rom-com drama succeeds because it understands the heart of the genre: love is messy, unpredictable, and often hilarious. By combining sincere emotion with clever humor, the drama offers viewers a feel-good experience that lingers long after the final episode. It is the kind of story that reminds us why romantic comedies remain so beloved—because sometimes, laughter and love truly are the perfect combination.

One of my favourite kdramas of the year!

I didn’t expect to love this drama as much as I do now. I thought we were going to get a cute romcom and yes we did get that but we also got to see so much more. The character development and the emotional moments made me fall in love with this drama. The way certain moments were so relatable made me love it even more and I know that I’ll be rewatching this drama again and again!

I would definitely reccomend you to watch this series!

I have just finished watching 'Boyfriend on demand' and I have actually really enjoyed it! It has been a long time since I have enjoyed a series and I finally did. In this series I did stand up, close my computer and think 'How could he/she do that' since you know sometimes you just want to tell the character in a series about something to help them understand what is happening but you know.
First of all, I did watch it because of Jisoo and Seo In guk but I actually realised that the plot of the movie was written really well and it doesn't get boring in the middle of it. I am glad I found these series and want to reccomend it to more people.
Hope you watch it!

Ignore the Obvious Haters and Watch BOD

I watched the 1st 4 episodes and I have to say it's an amazing drama with a unique concept of a romcom.

The cast give amazing performances and the cinematography was amazing.

Jisoo, in particular, gives a stand out performance. Her acting skills give emotional depth to her character. Keep in mind that she won the Outstanding Female Actress Award for her role in Snowdrop. She blends into the character of Mirae so naturally and she looks absolutely magnificent.

There are a lot of Jisoo haters in the comment section so my advice is to ignore and watch it for yourself.

It seems Kpop has strange fans who will go out of their bored lives to spread unnecessary hate.

Dissapointed

I was looking forward to the show actually. I thought that the ai boyfriend concept would be fun and fresh for kdrama after some while but it did not live up to my expectation. The concept was very interesting but execution is done so poorly i had to drop it. The plot is really boring and felt so draggy to the point that i just find myself skipping a lot through the episodes. Cringy and unexciting.

Everything about this show felt underwhelming despite the big budget and promos and they tried to make up for it with Jisoo's big popularity and the flashy hot oppa cameos. It just felt like an SNL skit at some point lmao

For the acting, I feel like Jisoo's acting skills is still not solid enough to be a FL. Her diction and weak portrayal was very obvious. There's definitely some improvement from her previous drama. Something about her acting feels flat AF i find myself getting bored. She's NOT extremely bad and is completely unwatchable but when she has to do funny scenes, she tends to over-exaggerate and it feels unnatural. The rest of the cast also has this 'extra' acting which was so unbearable for me (fl's bestie, office mates). I get that this genre is not supposed to be serious and light hearted but the the comedy acting didn't deliver. I feel like for cringey plots/concepts you really need good solid actors to make it less cringey and enjoyable. It made me realize how romcom type casted actresses are heaven sent

A feel good series just right for a weekend binge watch

I absolutely enjoyed watching Boyfriend on Demand. Light, funny, not too complicated yet very relatable. Just right for a weekend binge watch. JISOO portrayed Seo Mirae so well. I was impressed that she was able to handle all the diverse settings, the different characters that she needed to play and all the emotions that came with it. Plus, the insane chemistry she has with all the actors that played as her “boyfriend”. We saw many sides of actress JISOO through Seo Mirae and she absolutely nailed it! I would definitely watch it again.

Songs and story that flow together

The story in BOD is simple but relatable, showing the ups and downs of love through funny, sad and even frustrating moments that feel close to real life. The songs add to the mood perfectly. Seems light and playful when the scenes are silly, and emotional when the drama gets heavy that making the whole experience more engaging and heartfelt.
