I’M CRYING. HE’S CRYING. WE’RE ALL CRYING. 😭Of course it’s Khaotung — why is he always making me feel EVERYTHING?!
This series fits them so perfectly it actually hurts. The emotions, the chemistry, the way they just exist together on screen… I’m not okay.
At this point I should know better, because I have NEVER been disappointed with their projects. Not once. They always deliver, and yet I’m still not prepared for the emotional damage every single time.
I came here to watch… not to suffer like this 😭🤍✨

This was adorable
Surprisingly I liked this a lot more than I expected. I was initially planning to skip this, but I felt I needed something lighter to balance out some of the more gloomier BLs that I have been watching. I think this delivered in giving something soft and lighthearted and surprisingly there was good character building included into the plot. The plot while not being anything complex carried trough the whole show. I will always be a dog person, but this actually made me want to go to a cat cafe.I feel in terms of individual characters the focus is a lot on Lynx's character and how he evolves trough out the show. I liked the element of sibling relationship that was included in the plot alongside with Lynx having to come to terms with his mother's death and their challenging relationship. It's always good when the main characters plot is just not about the build up of the romantic relationship.
I have not seen a lot of shows where First and Khaotung are paired, even if I do know they have been working as a pair for quite some time now. For that reason I can't compare them to their past performances as a couple, but in this one I do think the character dynamic worked well. This wasn't meant to be a particularly spicy series to begin with, and in a more romcom type of context it was fun to see their romance play out.
Now is the cat cafe/ debtor set up very believable as a starting point to the plot and to the main romance element of the show? Probably not, but as a romcom definitely works. The cats offer and deliver on the comedic aspect. I would maybe even say this show has some re-watch value, for days when you just want something easy, that will make you smile while watching.

Cats and Slowburn Romance
This series is so cute. The moment the trailer came out, I got really excited because I’m such a cat lover. Bonus pa that the actors are also some of my favorites. 😻I can actually relate to this series a little because I have three cats myself. Cats really don’t like changes since they’re very routine-based animals. Sometimes they don’t even want their food or litter changed. If you feed them late, they might suddenly pee or poop somewhere else. It’s not revenge — it’s usually stress. Cats are very sensitive to changes in their environment.
That’s why I appreciated how accurate and well-researched this series is when it comes to cat behavior. Like John Wick peeing or pooping everywhere even though he’s litter-trained — that can actually mean a cat is sick or stressed, or maybe the litter box is dirty. And the part about him having a UTI is also very realistic because UTIs are common in male cats.
I also love the small details, like the slow blinking. If a cat slow blinks at you, it means they trust you, love you, and feel safe around you. Kudos to the researchers and writers for making the cats feel realistic and not just “cute props” in the story. Even the cats themselves are so well-behaved and honestly feel like real actors too, haha. Ang cute nila sobra. 😹
The series is a bit slow-paced, including the romance, but because of the cats and the overall story, it still makes you excited for the next episodes. I usually don’t like slow-burn romance, but this series made me appreciate it more because the relationship development feels natural and well-built. I realized that falling in love slowly actually feels more realistic than romances with no proper buildup.
Another thing I like is that there are only a few main characters, so it’s an easy and relaxing watch for me. There’s also a little drama between Lynx and her mother, but I think it’s just enough to keep the story interesting without making it too heavy or stressful.
This is only the second series I’ve watched where cats play such a big role, and of course, I absolutely love it. 🐾

Comfort over chaos
What surprised me the most about Cat for Cash is how calm it feels compared to what you would usually expect. For a while I kept waiting for something bigger or more dramatic to happen, but the drama clearly isn’t interested in that kind of storytelling. Instead, it leans into a softer and more comforting atmosphere, turning the café itself into a safe space where affection, unresolved emotions, and healing quietly coexist. The warm cinematography and soundtrack really help create that feeling, making even simple scenes feel intimate and emotionally grounded. At the same time, the writing sometimes feels too hesitant with its own conflicts, resolving things quickly or without enough emotional consequences, which makes some arcs feel repetitive or underdeveloped. I also wish Tiger’s ability to communicate with cats had been used more meaningfully, because it could have added a much stronger emotional or symbolic layer to the story instead of feeling like a side detail. Still, what truly carries the drama is the chemistry between First and Khaotung. There’s such a natural ease between them that even the quietest interactions end up feeling important. The pacing can occasionally feel stagnant, especially if you’re expecting stronger progression, but once I accepted the tone the drama was going for, I ended up appreciating its quieter approach a lot more. Was this review helpful to you?
Cats for Cash had a lot of potential, but the execution didn’t fully deliver
Cats for Cash had a lot of potential, but the execution didn’t fully deliver. The story could have been stronger — it felt like there were missing pieces that were never properly explored. The actors did a great job and really committed to their roles, but the overall pacing and development made the series feel a bit like filler in the 2025 BL lineup.
The concept itself was interesting, especially the idea of being able to communicate with cats, but it wasn’t fully explained or developed. It leaves you wondering how that ability came to be and why it plays such a big role in the family.
That said, the cats were definitely a highlight — very cute and added some charm to the series.
Overall, it had good ideas, but with better execution and deeper storytelling, it could have been something much more memorable.

I loved all the kitties so much!
This show was so cute and fun! I love FirstKhaotung so I knew I had to watch it! Their chemistry is always amazing! I heard this show was made for them and I think that really came across on screen. I liked their characters too as well as the rest of the cast.I liked the story; it wasn't anything too complicated. The cats all having voices was really fun and I love how they each kind of had their own episode. They were so cute too! The way the power passed to the next person was a little strange, but I didn't mind it either.
I do wish we got more scenes between just Lynx and Tiger. I felt like that was where the show was lacking for me. We really didn't get a lot of moments of just them. Leo or the cats were always around or interrupting. I wish we got a few more kisses between them too. It's fine if it's not a spicy show, but I do wish we got them being intimate or acting like a couple a bit more.

I love their perspective about love, grief and guilt
It's an emotional story about love for cats, love, grief, guilt and family. In all his failures and imperfect ways. It's relatively calm and composed when compared with FirstKhao's other series (and it was literally their wish). It's still emotionally developed and very on brand for them, but a lot less rollercoaster of emotions.I loved it in general, it's about grief and it's well done, I just have some points: I wish that the mom and son thing were more developed, bcs we don't really understand what exactly made mother and son fall a little apart, where exactly was the moment or thing that this happened. Also, the whole show has those little plot holes here and there, but overall it's not that unpleasant.
It's beautiful, and the acting, I don't even need to talk about it right? Fresh Arisara is one of the most brilliant actors of her generation. I wish that she would just do every show in Thailand bcs she's brilliant. FirstKhao alwayyyyys delivers and Satang is also amazing.
A good watch! Also I love the cats, I just really wish that they would play a bigger role in the whole thing. WE LOVE YOU BABY JUMBO. I also love my diva Jennie.
Oh and AJ who is there playing the same character for the 1939 time. And I eat it everytime.

Light entertainment that is ultimately unmemorable.
Cat for Cash unfortunately struggles to find its footing. While the premise of a cat café should offer the ultimate "cozy" atmosphere, the primary setting lacks organic charm, feeling more like a staged set than a lived-in neighborhood restaurant. The narrative relies heavily on tired tropes—from a sudden, unknown brother to a debt collector subplot—that feel disconnected from the central heart of the story. To its credit, however, the show attempts to give the cats genuine agency. With their distinct backstories and Tiger’s magical ability to understand them, they are intended to be active participants in the narrative rather than simple background.
Despite these efforts, the show failed to generate enough interest to make their world feel real. Even the professional depth of FirstKhaotung cannot go far without a believable environment to inhabit; without a grounded reality to anchor the characters, the performances feel restricted by the artifice of the production.
Ultimately, Cat for Cash is passable as light entertainment, but it remains unmemorable for those looking for a story with a soul.

Good but boring
See, the weird part is that there's no actual problem with this series but it's just way too quiet, too calm, making it boring and hard to get through the eps (It felt like the GL 'Us' n funny enough I rated both series similarly). So for this 2x speed is definitely needed. This is definitely FK's weakest series.. I'm only disappointed because cats r just so them and I LOVE both FK and cats.. Wish it was more interesting, but it just isn't.. Maybe next time 🫡
I think this series is worth watching, because it's not bad, it's just boring, cute but boring.. It really has the FirstKhao vibe but maybe it's Lynx's awkward character? He can't express his love for Tiger that easily, lowkey he's insecure in a way?. He definitely changed a lot tho. The first episodes made me think it's gonna be more fun than this. Watch for FirstKhao if u want, It's the enough amount of fun and cute, just don't expect too much.

Fluffy asf, but lowkey a snooze fest
Oh my god i finally managed to finish this show, like it genuinely took away ten years of my life for how slow it was overall going. Listen: was it a bad show? No. Was it boring? Hell yes. Boring to the point where i was about to drop it and just start something else, but unfortunately i planned to watch all of gmmtv 2025 queer show beginning to end (unless highly unbearable) so here we are.I wanna start by ting what i liked:
- finally a Firstkhao show that didn’t involve my complete breakdown. It was not immune to tears and funerals, but at the very least it was pretty lighthearted, and it was pretty much needed after all of their previous show. I liked how fluffy and comforting it was.
- The mothers were all amazing and incredibly diva character. I liked all of the woman existing in th shows, and Lynx mother was my fa the best, most layered and most realistic one in the bunch. Might have come off as evil to someone but i lowkey understood her beginning to end. Go diva.
- THE PARALLELISM; i just know that the author kept making parallelism left and right, between every character in any way they could, but I honestly loved how the story of the humans reflected what was happening in the cat world, as if everyone had their corrispettive in the animal world. Pretty cute indeed
The plot is pretty cute, but it’s short, slightly confusing , there are some questionable writing choices and there are some plot-hole, that while not being detrimental to the show, left me confused for a second. Now let’s go bit by bit:
- The plot did NOT need 10 episodes. Cat for cash could have been very much a 5/6 episodes show and it would have been able to not delete a single of the themes showed in the original. There are so many fillers moment and oh my god how slow some scenes are.
- All the plot lines were introduced in such a way where u would just not understand anything after episode one. It’s literally just the story of Lynx, who, after his mom died takes the Mom cat shop in order to pay back the debt that she collected over the years. Tigger is the one that actually has to collects the money, but since he is a cat lover he basically starts hanging around and eventually they fall in love and blah blah blah. You had to had the trauma of lynx, the trauma of the mother, the grandpa, he discovered he had a brother, had his trauma too.. basically there where a lot of storyline that were just colliding but not in a nice, neat way, were everything is explained either in advance or intelligently. NO. In a messy way when every once in a while you discover something new that is somehow both important and irrelevant to the story. Idk, i really thought they could have handled every single of those topics waay better.
- There are some small plot wholes that kept bugging me beginning to end of the show: why tf they be saying that tiger was allergic to cat when he did not have a single reaction to cat like not the slight Les even being extremely close to them like that. I’m saying this as a fellow girl with an allergy to cat, you would have found dead after one day from like tight throat, crying eyes and sneezing uncontrollably. That man in not that allergic, why even making it a point? Another thing that i think i am pretty much the only one who even noticed it is, HOW OLD ARE THOSE CHARACTERS? When grandma ju met both of them when they were young they looked both pretty young and they both looked the same age. It’s said tho that Tiger is 30.. so Lynx and Leo a both 30? I though Leo was around UNI age? Maybe i lost some parts? And then again how old was grandma ju? Like 20? Do cats even live that long?
- There are some writing choices that lowkey left me speechless. Listen, i understand hat this is supposed to be a fluffy show, but how tf am i supposed to believe that a loan shark, and a dangerous man like Tiger and all his family are such cuties patooties? Could we please make it a little more realistic?
And now onto the writing choices that made me mad the most: where tf is the romance in this show??? Like ok, it was way more than just a love story, but around episode five it felt like the focus had shifted from the love story to whatever was happening in the world around them. I expected way more romance, especially in the last episode. If we count that they had one couple to care about and a lot of time on their hands it feels like them and their romance underdeveloped.
Now, onto the actors;
They lowkey chose a casting full of talented people, that’s not up to debate, Maybe they chose TOO good, cause sometimes it felt like they were way beyond the character they were portraying. It’s true, they are made specifically for complex character (and i mean Lynx to a certain degree was) but like there were some moments were i thought their acting was surpassing the character. Beside that, like both did an amazing job, WinnySatang mentioned (don’t mention them to me i am still not over them) Great is good and extremely handsome, all the family members were full of great actors. Cast approved.
The directing department have some adjustment to make. The frontal shots were good when they were tying to bond and like blinking like you are supposed to do with cats or whatever. No. they completely abused of that technique, using it in moments when it was so not necessary ad just a normal shots could have been just fine. I did not expect anything else from like coloring or aesthetic, I’m pretty happy with what we got, even if it was like the bare minimum to make everything look ugly. Let’s say it was waaaay better when they shot inside compared to when they shot outside, that is by much clear, but we can’t really expect anything much from what i am 90% positive was the cheapest production of 2025 (i just know ggmtv gave them the lowest budget)
Would i rewatch it? No. It’s way to boring and even the romantic moments are so non existent that like what am i even supposed to rewatch? Nothing. But like if u want a very light show to keep u company before u go to sleep try this one out.
PS: i cannot fucking believe they managed to make them fucking sing even on a show about cats. TWICE.
