Overall Thoughts:
Not a bad drama, but not one I’ll be thinking about two months from now. The pacing felt a bit sluggish at times, and I wasn’t fully engaged with the storytelling throughout. This could have been tighter and more impactful as an 8-episode series. While there were twists and turns, most of them were quite predictable. Still, that didn’t stop me from continuing to watch.

What I Liked:

The chemistry between the main couple was genuinely enjoyable and carried a lot of emotional weight.

The lead actors gave solid performances that made their relationship believable and compelling.

The bodyguard/assistant character was a standout, adding charm and balance to the overall tone.


What I Didn’t Like:

Armin’s hairstyle in the early episodes was distracting and oddly styled.

The creators leaned too much into lakorn-style melodrama, including exaggerated acting, outdated tropes, and overly dramatic scenes.

For instance, Armin repeatedly "accidentally" reveals information from the future to people in the past. This happens multiple times and starts to feel repetitive.

When Armin was shot on set, with real or empty bullet, no one would realistically aim directly close range at the heart and fire directly. a blank (or empty) bullet can still be dangerous and even deadly at close range.

The villains were particularly cliché, behaving like stereotypical bad guys from old movies, with theatrical tone, facial expressions, and gestures. The main villian ends up going insane in prison, a trope that felt tired and unnecessary.


Final Verdict:
A watchable drama with strong performances and great chemistry between the leads, but weakened by predictable storytelling and an overreliance on outdated dramatic devices. Enjoyable while it lasts, but not something that leaves a lasting impression.

Reset the Series Is Not Just a Drama – It’s Absolute Cinema.

Remember this "Pond is going to heights we can never imagine.” After watching the first episode, he was stuck in my head the entire day. At first, I was hesitant to write a review, but I knew I’d regret it later if I didn’t. So here I am!
These days, many dramas focus on the behind-the-scenes lives of actors (like My Stand-In, Top Form, etc.), but even if the theme is similar, every story has its own unique charm. And let me tell you—this one is a REVENGE PLOT, and I love angst more than anything. This drama fits every category I adore.
People are comparing it to Marry My Husband, but Reset the Series is special in its own way.

The first episode was a BANG—1 hour and 10 minutes of pure brilliance. Every second, I found myself praying for it not to end. And even when it did, I was still craving more. It was mesmerizing—beautifully written, with amazing cinematography that made everything perfect.
There’s only one word for it: MASTERPIECE.

Every cast member deserves immense appreciation. I absolutely loved Phat—what a great friend!
The secretary? Poor soul, he's caught in the middle of Thada’s love story like it’s his full-time job! (But sir, are you single by any chance?). And of course, my baby Bom and First—they were amazing as always.
Special mention to TD/Thada—he was phenomenal! He carries that badass aura so effortlessly ( He’s definitely a Daddy—and romantic as hell). And Armin in that black shirt? AAHHHH—who wouldn’t fall for that diva? Honestly, we can’t blame Thada.
The music? Spot on. It worked so well with the revenge tone.
And after watching the preview of the next episode, I threw my phone at my brother’s face. He’s still recovering, by the way. 😅

Everything in this story feels perfect—nothing more, nothing less.
And oh my God, the chemistry was killing me! It all began with just 5–10 minutes, but looking back now, you can see Thada falling head over heels in every frame. I swear, there’s going to be serious competition for the best BL couple title. They’re going to rule the genre. They’ve got the potential.

The only thing I felt lacking was the makeup for the 45–50 Year-old actors—honestly, they still looked 20–25 to me. (Except for Armin.) They could’ve done better with aging them. But hey, that’s forgivable—we got this gem in return.

Underutilized everything, but the chemistry.

I’m just kind of underwhelmed by everything I witnessed - the last episode just made me crave for me. Why center your plot around such an interesting concept to barely use it? What’s the point?

Starting from the good - the chemistry between Pond and Peterpan was amazing. Fireworks on screen, literally and metaphorically. The tension was there, the desire, love, fear and hope. I did believe every emotion that was presented in the context of their relationship. Especially from Thada. Yes, I do believe Armin loved Thada, but Thada LOVED Armin - all caps. The devotion this man presents. I am sorry, but he deserves better than Armin - I said it and I’ll stand by it. Both actors delivered amazing performances though.

Then we have the true MVP, easily my favorite character Veynai. What a comedic timing this man had. There was not one bad scene of him. He often delivered just one or two lines, but they were so on point we did not need more. Also, shoutout to Janine who was the best pro manager ever. I wish they actually did more than vague hints that maybe one day there might be something between them. What an unstoppable duo they would be.

From the good I’d also give props to music and aesthetics. So many songs were such bangers, and even if the night sky at times gave me AI generated vibes, the drama was still visually stunning.

Onto the bad - everything else.

The plot was so mid it’s actually sad. At least they could have made it ridiculously entertaining. The villain was both tragically cartoonish, and painfully boring. The whole mystery was non-existing, we know from the start who is behind everything and it’s just frustrating for the leads to do NOTHING to eliminate the issue from the start. The “reincarnation/waking up in old body” aspect is barely used too. This could have brought so much more angst and tension, but instead we had like “I’m old” jokes every 2 episodes. And then there is the whole issue of the last “accident” which I rant about in the comment under spoiler. That thing though, almost broke my brain, I was so frustrated.

Overall, yes for the chemistry, no for the plot.

Side note, around half way through the drama I was chatting with a friend how whenever someone says Tada, I always repeat after them with the ‘ta-da” intonation and I’ve sent this gif: https://media.tenor.com/8pLlGDVzPRYAAAAM/muppet-family-christmas-muppets.gif and then… till the end of the show I had that muppet in my brain whenever someone said ML’s name.

A second chance to right old wrongs. A reminder that choices may fade, but consequences remain!

What if your death wasn't a tragic ending but a fresh start? The premise was definitely intriguing but familiar.
Welcome to the twisted deja vu of this time travel drama, where Armin dies under mysterious circumstances and travels back in time with memories intact to uncover the truth of his death. At first glance, it screamed the classic time travel revenge plot but the twist was that it wasn't just really about revenge at all. And honestly, that was both the highlight and the flaw.

Armin gets a second chance at life, and rather than chasing down his killer as expected, the drama takes a subtle path.
It leaned more into the "what ifs" and the invisible choices that never seemed important until they added up to something irreversible.
The second chance was to study his own life to understand where things went wrong, what choices chipped away at him and how he could prevent the fate from repeating itself. It became less about who pushed him off the cliff and more about why he was standing there in the first place.

In the new journey, he meets Thada, his day-one fan. The best thing about the romance here is that it doesn't only lean into fanservice fluff. Both the leads have their individual personality. Thada isn't portrayed as just some loyal puppy. He was/is Armin's fan but not in cringe, over-the-top stan way but more like observant admirer who looked past his celebrity gloss. What makes him cut above the rest was how he doesn't play saviour (he tries to but backs off when Armin shows claws xD). But he just stays. He walks beside him without trying to "fix" him.

Their chemistry was just the chef's kiss. They were awkward, sassy, soft and spicy. The connection felt very natural and effortless. There were times when the writing got a little uneven and things started to drift, but their chemistry held the ground. I was here for the time travel bling but stayed for them. If this were just a romance and I ignore everyone and everything, the drama would be a solid 10 out of 10

However, not everything hit as hard as I thought. The actual fantasy element is surprisingly minimal. It's just a narrative device, more symbolic than logical. There are still a few questions unanswered in my head, like how exactly the time loop worked, why it only affected Armin and what actually triggered it? Was it only his death, some unresolved business or just something else entirely? Was it a one-time phenomenon and what are the consequences of changing the past? You know, the usual time-travel manipulation dilemmas.
But strangely, the drama did manage to pull everything together. It was more about what he chose to do in the new timeline than how and why it happened. What lacked in fantasy was covered in more character depth for Armin and making the story more emotionally available. These ambiguities didn't really ruin the story for me, but it did leave the fantasy part of the story underdeveloped.

Side characters were another weak spot. While Armin and Thada were fleshed out with attention, the supporting cast was underused. I wouldn't say they were entirely forgettable but they could have contributed more to the story. For example, Veynai's whole existence in the show is just to remind Armin he has a schedule and do his non work related chores ib style. Then we have Thiwthit, a bitter rival with an unhealthy obsession with Thada, who had been reduced to nothing more than a brat craving the attention and wealth denied by dear old daddy. They did tried hard to portray him as big bad wolf but he was still the boy who shouted wolfs and no one helped him at the end. His arc was very over the top lakorn-ish.
We also have one supportive friend for Armin too but very one-note. They definitely fill spaces, but without leaving much of a mark.

Acting-wise, Pond as Armin shines through. I haven't seen him in a lead role before, but I am genuinely impressed with the range of emotions he expressed throughout. Peterpan as Thada was another pleasant surprise for me. His character Thada demanded restraint and a soft yet commanding presence and he did a great job. The supporting cast also had a few known names, but I guess the story didn't give them much. Special mention to Alexander playing Venyai. I hope to see him in other projects because he is definitely an attention stealer, even though his role was very brief and basic here.

Cinematography was very atmospheric, and I liked the change of lighting and colour to differentiate the timelines and characters' moods. Also, the tiny details of "that" time, like using a flip phone, fashion sense also resembling the 90s, all worked in favour. Props to Thada's stylist.

Overall, this is more of an emotional love story that is heavy on feels but not too big on plot twists and fantasy elements. But for a drama about healing, second chances and love, it delivered. I would definitely recommend it.

Very strong beginning, but loosing pace and focus on the story.

As usual many series have a very strong start... but then it feels like the writer(s) loose focus on the story and the finale cumulated in a chaotic fashion for the first 10 minutes and then nothing much happend.

Compared to shows like "Fourever You" we see what Pond can do, when the character in his script is well written. But overall the story was not that good. Some illogical things like telling that he's come from the future, is something nobody would do. Bom was also interesting in the beginning but that faded when he got overly mad. He flees somewhere without any clothes but in the finale he was impeccable styled - that made no sense for me when we see him in the last episode in the run down house with not much in it. Yeah and the side couple was just an extra. They wasted time with the main couple but did nothing to explore the other one at all.

Besides that, it had some redeeming qualities such as very good cinematography, OST and the acting in most cases. Compared to many other shows this started very refreshing but still failed in the end imho. In the end the positive aspects outweigh the negative ones.

What a dissapointment

What a disappointment this turned out to be. As someone who has read countless mangas and novels dealing with reincarnation and time travel, I went in expecting at least a fresh twist or a tightly written plot. Instead, I got one of the weakest executions of the genre I’ve ever seen — a complete waste of Pond’s potential.

I’ll be honest: I was here only for Pond, hoping his talent would be paired with a compelling story. But, as I’ve said before, Thailand desperately needs to invest in good scriptwriters. The narrative was a mess from start to finish — riddled with loopholes, tonal inconsistencies, and logic so flimsy it collapsed under the lightest scrutiny.

Armin, the protagonist, was perhaps the most baffling reincarnation lead I’ve ever encountered. In most stories, when someone gets a second chance at life, they’re laser-focused on avoiding their past mistakes or preventing their tragic fate. Not Armin. He seemed determined to antagonize everyone around him, almost inviting death. Then, in episode three, he meets the so-called “love of his life” — and suddenly nothing else matters. Any idea of revenge, personal growth, or strategic planning evaporated into thin air.

The reincarnation premise was completely wasted, shoved aside for a generic romance that felt rushed and forced. If you’re here hoping for a smart, satisfying revenge plot, you’ll be just as let down as I was. Armin’s attempts at changing the lives of his aunt and friend were minimal at best — blink and you’d miss them. Instead, he was almost entirely dependent on TD, letting the story drag him along rather than driving it himself.

And don’t even get me started on the ending. Out of nowhere, TD’s stepbrother is revealed as the villain, with a last-minute motive that he was in love with TD. This plot twist came out of absolutely nowhere, with zero build-up in previous episodes. It felt like the writers were scrambling to wrap things up and reached for the most random idea available.

Honestly, if you remove Pond from the equation and replace him with any other actor, the flaws become even more glaring. The reincarnation element might as well not have existed — this could have been any typical Thai BL with nothing to set it apart. The romance angle came too soon, too shallow, and too conveniently, leaving the rest of the narrative hollow.

In the end, this was several hours of my life wasted on a show that had the premise to be great but chose to squander it at every turn.

excellent chemistry (need a special episode and a spin off)

Overall: I was excited about the first episode. Then there were some nonsense character actions and plot that lost me a bit, but the finale reeled me back in. This is based on the book Reset by Crystaljade which I haven't read and I reviewed the series on its own merits. 10 episodes about an hour each. - toilet humor, too much of a character in the bathroom
- a character kept telling people things and completely freaking out, he should have been smarter instead of still bewildered when months had passed
- world building error in episode 4, Armin mentioned hashtags would be popular but he didn't explain what they were yet Thada knew what they were even though they weren't yet invented
- Thada could have easily foreseen what would happen at that party and talked to Armin before
- stupid "plan" in episode 5
- *they waited too long (episode 6) to explain Thada's background
- security until there suddenly was zero security
- sound effects didn't make things funny

an idealized fairy tale, wrapped in a shallow story

I honestly don't know why this show is hyped so much; I found it mediocre at best. I was hoping that the reason why this show is so overhyped would reveal itself to me with the conclusion of the show, but I almost feel clickbaited now that I finished it.
I've seen people recommend this show all the time on tiktok, for it's high quality production and the great "non-cringy" story. While I personally cannot agree with this at all, I will admit, that it can be a decent watch, depending on what you are looking for in a show.

I would recommend this show only to people who prioritize a wholesome power couple with great chemistry and lots of fan service over a plot-driven story with complex characters.
however, if you are looking for an intricate show about time travel and characters with depth, you should probably skip this one.
if you start this show and can not get into it at all after the first 1-2 episodes, you are probably save drop it. the focus of the story shifts a bit about half way in and I found it a bit better after that. but not to the point that I don't regret watching something else in that time.

-- disclaimer: the list below doesn't feature any story spoilers, but I will talk a bit about the execution of some aspects and themes of the show as well as the general behaviour of some characters. most show descriptions will give away more than that, but this one's is super short and allows to go in pretty much blind. --

What I did enjoy:
- great chemistry between the main actors
- the yearning!! Tada (the love interest) singlehandedly made it possible for me to finish this show
- despite different social backgrounds, the couple's dynamic is not defined by it; they meet each other on eye-level
- both main characters are absolute green flags
- amazing (and frequent) intimate/kissing/lovey-dovey scenes
- (for the millennials:) late 90s / early 2000s nostalgia
- the majority story focuses on the couple facing struggles together, and not on how becoming a couple in the first place being the struggle
- amazing acting (even though I didn't like how most characters were written)

What I did not enjoy, but I can see that others might:
- this show is in fact super cheesy, but it tries to do it in a gown up way
- idealized and unrealistic display of a relationship: almost from the get go, the main characters show this unconditional love and faith in each other, despite barely knowing the other person or having that level of trust established through shared experiences. pretty much a soul mates trope, without calling it by the name. (in fairness tho: this becomes a bit more plausible in the second half of the show)
- the middle part is purely fan service with almost no story at all

What I did not enjoy:
- the story is very lacking. the bit of plot that exists is pretty much a standard regression story (main character gets wronged, suddenly returns to the past, tries to revisit some life choices or to get revenge). I found really nothing original or interesting about it.
- especially considering that the show is called "Reset", the time travel/regression theme is barely explored. there are very few occasions in which the main character consciously makes different choses than in his first life and they have little to no impact for the most part. it would honestly take little effort to rewrite the show to a non-time travel story, where the mc just has good intuition or some insight knowledge from a friend.
- furthermore, and this really bothered me, he frequently mentions things from the future or that he went back in time towards the other characters, as if it was a completely normal thing to say. and 90% of the time, the other characters don't address the topic at all (e.g. by being confused, suspicious, labelling him as a crazy person, ect.)
- the LGBTQ theme is not explored either. the issue of being openly gay in the 90s/00s, especially as a person of public interest is touchedup on a few times, but never an actual topic. if brought up, it is pretty much only out of convenience, if some sort of crisis is needed, but is not actually adding to the plot
- especially in the first half of the show, the main character's behavior doesn't make any sense whatsoever. he is supposed to be in his 40s when he travels back in time, but behaves like a barely grown up with no signs of maturity, rationality or life experience. he (and sometimes the love interest as well) makes irrational decisions, just to artificially create some drama and extend the story by an episode or two
- overall, the characters are poorly written: every single character in the show is either 100% good or 100% bad, the majority of the characters are also super stereotypical. almost no character development across the show.
- most side characters are just there when they are needed to artificially blow up the plot, and are completely irrelevant/not mentioned at all in between. most of them are not an organic part of the story and therefore don't add to it in any way.
- villainization of women: while it is common, that BL stories feature only few female characters, 4/5 women in this show (ranging from guest to support roles) are displayed as the embodiment of a villain, without any positive character trait. I will give a positive shoutout for including a diverse character tho. (although I feel like a lot of bl shows seem to include one token-diverse character to feign diversity)
- while I found the music appropriate for the most parts, some of the more prominent music themes are just super repetitive, to the point where it was straight up annoying. I usually don't pay attention to music in shows at all, so the fact that I noticed this 1-4 times per episode means a lot

They called me a pathetic single in six different languages.

In simple terms: a time-travel revenge story. This plot might be a dime a dozen, but this series is worth watching. The negatives are few but relevant. The main actors performances are decent but some of the supporting actors are hard to watch. The direction & screenplay could've been better. Production quality could also use some work, but it's watchable. The time travel is not very convincing. 25 years in the future & they still look the same & expect for the phones & some electronics, 1999/2000 looks too modern. A lot of unrealistic things despite the fantasy setting.

The MC, Armin is an actor who was killed & then time travelled 25 years back in the past. He is annoying sometimes, especially during the beginning, but he mellows out and is sweet mostly afterwards. The ML is supposed to be the scary Mr. CEO, but he is totally wrapped around the MC's fingers. The ultimate sugar daddy; with the grand romantic gestures , gifts & throwing money left and right. He is soo down bad for the MC, it's embarrassing to watch (I'm not jealous nope no not at all). They make a great couple & the actors having good chemistry helps with that. Their intimate scenes together - sizzling 🔥Not stiff & awkward. Of course there is some corny stuff only BLs can get away with. Nonetheless, this is worth watching even just for them.

It is definitely one of the better Thai BLs to have come out recently, definitely one of the best in 2025.

A disapointment and I cant cope with the main lead

After reading other people's reviews and cuts, I thought this would be an excellent drama to watch. However, Armin, the main character, acts and thinks in a completely crazy manner after receiving his second chance at life. Yes, he was killed and betrayed, and it hurts to think about it. However, if he were able to live again and doubt his death, I anticipate that he would be more at ease to reflect and gradually discover the truth.
Unfortunately, all he did was cry, yell, get angry, and lose all control of his emotions and behavior for more than half of the drama. He also went around telling people about his death and how they had betrayed him, acting like a crazy person. Considering his occupation as an actor and his mental state as a forty-year-old man, what he has done throughout the drama is act like a child and throw tantrums wherever and at any time? I'm confused and irritated because the character development is terrible and the acting is overly exaggerated.I'm not sure how the main character is constructed, and his behavior and thoughts are incredibly foolish for a forty-year-old man who has had his share of ups and downs. Also, the antagonists are so simpleminded & stupid. Their plans are so..wow...is this kid's play ?

The good point is obviously the chemistry of the lead couple. Also the instruments and music are quite good.

Never got tired of watching Tada worship the ground Armin is walking on ~ So swoony & precious

This BL melted me into a puddle because of how swoony the main couple is. It features the romance between newcomer actor Armin and deeply enamoured sponsor Tada, the latter literally worshiping in the best way the former. The romance is the most successful part of the series. All the romantic scenes are worth being watched and re-watched (again and again). They are beautifully filmed and the chemistry between the two main actors is sizzling with the camera loving them and capturing every bit of their longing eyes for each other. They were just magnificent and memorable together.

The revenge part of the series is definitely less good. Armin behavior is devoid of any plan despite all the knowledge he should have, given his specific circumstances. He seems to get by his second chance at life more by luck and thanks to the support of Tada than any real thinking. The enemies characters sucked overall, most of them were painfully over-the-top and even childish in their actions, making it very difficult to take any of them seriously, with a threat level feeling weaker and weaker.

The acting from the main leads (Pond and Peterpan) is definitely another strong point of the series. It is my first time seeing Pond in a drama and I found him mesmerizing. Peterpan was a solid counterpart to him. Unfortunately, the acting from the remainder of the cast, especially for the ones playing the antagonists, was really unconvincing. Most of the worst might be linked to the writing, but even so, it was really distracting to see a character supposed to be a threat stomping his foot like a child and laughing maniacally in an absurd way.

The production of the series was good overall : the best of it being once again related to the romance and the way they filmed the caring gestures of the main leads, all their gentle gestures were framed in a very beautiful way. Next to them, everything faded away and was more average. The soundtrack was not the best. It was quite an overkill, especially on the NC scenes, they could clearly have made more subtile choices than all those jazzy tunes and classical violins to set the mood. It was unneeded as the actors were really able to carry their scenes without any of those crutches.

I would recommend this to people that are looking for a BL with an amazing and epic romance. It has quite a bit of soap opera vibe with some over-the-top acting from the villains and melodramatic moments that can feel too much but the romance at its core is really worth it!
