amazing chemistry, realistic pacing & easy watch

if you are looking for a drama which doesnt have a big plot, no breakups or annoying second leads then this is the one for you! the pacing altho slow (get together in ep18/19) is actually very realistic and i think it worked really well. i loved the cast, theres a side couple but not much focus on it, there is good character growth for one of the second leads and i liked the open ending for her and one of the second leads.

happy ending too so dw, cutest proposal scene ive watched in a cdrama icl.. emotional

i do wish we had seen a bit more about the ml’s friend as we just saw him wake up but nothing further, maybe an extra episode could have been used for the ending as it was a bit rushed in the last few but again nothing too drastic

i loved the ost as well!!

Sincerity is the only path to love

Yes the show brought us sincere love, the main couple’s romance was believable despite the age gap. Show was also without the usual C-drama drama, just pure fun and laughter.

Story line: The show had a simple office romance story line. Yet I never found it draggy, didn’t have to fast forward any episodes and before I knew it I was at the last episode, still yearning for more. It was the cast that made it so enjoyable to watch, including all the supporting cast.

Cast: The chemistry between the ML and FML was fantastic. I liked that the show made GJX childish at times, but yet manly and mature at other times. The romance was well paced and not rushed, it was believable for an 8-year age gap. I liked that the show made GJX more of the “female” in the r/s while ZJY was the more dominant “male” role in the r/s. Especially the proposal and the ending scene where ZJY was the rider and not the pillion rider. Yet no matter how much older ZJY was, she still had her young, girlish side which was what GJX loved, and Gina Jin made it so natural. GJX’s growth towards maturity in the show was natural and not forced, and nothing too egoistical or dramatised like some other young boy/older gal kind of shows. Most importantly, GJX was great eye candy, had a great bod and was a jack of all trades (pilot license and all) - super swoon worthy. Other couples in the show were also fun to watch and not boring at all.

C-drama without the drama: For once the drama did NOT have: 1) an annoying mother/ mother in law that opposes the r/s the whole drama; 2) rival FML/ML who were scheming and horrible, trying to ruin the main couple’s r/s in the worst possible way (although rival FML was annoying and super sticky but she was harmless). Rival ML was cool though. I liked that his age and maturity was reflected in the way he looks at r/s as well; and 3) annoying antagonists who sticks around for many episodes, and show can’t get rid of them fast enough. No wonder the show was so pleasant to watch!

Music: Omg the entire OST is stuck in my head now. The Wang Zi Yi and Gina Jin opening song is terribly catchy.

Totally enjoyable, fun and fantastic watch. I could rewatch this show again in a heartbeat.

Definitely a MUST WATCH....

I rarely write reviews but I had to review this one because it's worth a good review.
I would like to appreciate the writer of this book first because the plot was amazing.
The main reasons why I appreciate the author is the fact that:
1. I didn't find any forced kisses between the main leads except the first one where Gu Jiaxin dressed as a ghost but that was funny. Most dramas have some weird forced kisses and it makes me really uncomfortable and I'm glad I didn't find that here.
2. Male lead wasn't toxic or cold hearted or rude. Jiaxin was such a fun male lead. Most male leads in cdramas make me want to choke them but with this one he was easy going.
3. Male lead didn't grab female lead anyhow he wanted. He was soft and patient with female lead and didn't grab her hand everytime just to assert dominance.
4. The female lead was very responsive in kiss scenes. Usually female leads just stand there as the main lead does all the work(not all dramas though) but in this she reciprocated the kisses making the scenes more intimate and not weird.
5. Age didn't matter and the age difference wasn't the main conversation in the whole drama which I really appreciated.
6. The characters were really hilarious. When a drama is funny then it's much easier to watch.
7. The side couple are the cutest thing. Side couples are always the best anyway.

These were the few things I liked about the plot. But the drama wasn't especially perfect.
1. Gu Jiaxin's character didn't have much growth throughout the drama. He also didn't have a good back story. He almost seemed to appear out of nowhere. He didn't feel like he was a male lead.
2. Yan Ran deserved better. The actor herself is a very beautiful person and although I'm not against second leads I feel like she was really annoying in this one. I feel like she should have moved one like in earlier episodes and have her own love story.
3. Ep 20 -23 are filler episodes because why was Anna introduced all of a sudden. She didn't add anything to this plot. (You can skip these by the way.
4. I hate that Vincent existed. I don't even understand why he was written. At first I thought he would save Jing Jing from her sadness turned out he was a real pain in the ass.

With that said I wish you all the best as you watch this. I would definitely recommend this because it's a good drama compared to other dramas. Despite some flaws it's still a very fun watch. It has definitely made me rethink my boyfriend standards because now the standards are much higher hehe. Hope you love this as much as I did.

Light hearted, feel good, wonderful overall

This is a different drama where the FL is not cringy but rather believes in working hard. The most important part is the ML( not at all a cold hearted boss) , who is extremely caring and kind towards FL, the way he takes care of her small details is just awesome. The ML is made as assistant at first by his mother (who wants him to learn about company and stuff) also being a heir of that company, he will posses no grim or ego. No big villans, all are nice characters, no confusion or misunderstanding nothing. This is one of the drama where you are super satisfied after ending it and want to rewatch again and again. The drama and the romance is not rushed, so it looks very mature and proper and everything just feels very right after the confession. Cherry on the top, the best ending which makes you cry( absolutely happy ending though) . Overall, in love with the ML's character and attitude

a light office romance done right!

Man I'm so glad I watched this without reading reviews etc bc this reminded me that what makes a drama enjoyable is always gonna depend on your own experience while watching it.

I personally loved this way more than I thought I would! Things I loved:

- ML & FL chemistry! sizzling althroughout the show. FL is so so so so pretty (dare i say i finished the show bc i liked staring at her lol) the ML might be new but he has potential. what i love is how they wrote his character. he's neither a playboy nor cold-hearted, can you believe it??? he's too good to be true but we can pretend he exists lmao

- simple romance story. went into this expecting an office romance and got what i wanted. yes there's the annoying office tropes but they get resolved quite satisfyingly imo. u can skip if u want tbh

- side characters!! this is one of the very few cdramas where i almost don't skip all of the side character scenes. they have their own thing going on & they're interesting on their own. they are a much needed breather whenever they appear. i didn't find anyone annoying which is a surprise.

- others: ost is good! kisses were great tho u gotta b patient for it lol. ending credits were cute.

ofc it ain't perfect & some tropes are gonna frustrate you but that's just typical cdrama for u lol. i RARELY finish dramas whenever i watch them no matter how great they are but i surprised myself bc i tried really hard to finish this bc i really wanted to (24 eps ugh)!

if u just watched a heavy drama & want something light this might be for u! it also deals with finding a love later on in life & it's honestly pretty inspiring ngl. give it a try!

Just finished watching this and I loved it, I think because it was just a really like simple, not soo complicated drama.

Firstly, not sure how I ended up watching this! Think I kept seeing like clips on Facebook, and it intrigued me to want to watch, so I decided to start it!

Secondly, I loved how everyone was portrayed at the start and then you slowly see them changing. I think Gina Jin who played Zhao Jiang Yue, is such a pretty actress, I think the first time I saw her was in You are My Glory. But I loved, how like it was soo relatable, that she was a 30year old, workaholic, who just works and was looking for love. And you can she the change as a person as the episodes go by.

And the character of Gu Jia Xin, He's so funny, and a very handsome guy in real life, who really suits his character! I find his character a very typical like young guy character, and soo relatable, like at the start because of family issues that all he did was race, and then ended up having to take the company! I think it's really cute, how he was able to just help Jiang Yue in every situation, and end up actually being by her side. I think it was so cute.

At the start of the few episodes, I really thought that Qian Jing Jing, the support best friend - I found her a little annoying at the start just because she was literally just in her own little world of perfectness, and everything she did! - But it was also so relatable because a lot of people do hide behind likes, and looking perfect on social media like, life is really perfect when it isn't! - But I really liked how she changed as the episodes went on, and her style, and attitude towards everything changed, and in the end all the misunderstandings just worked out and she was able to just accept herself!

Same with Li Yan Ran & Xu Ning Yuan! At the start I did find Li Yan Ran, a little annoying. But actually after a while, I kinda found her character really funny. I know it was sad that she liked him for YEARS! But, I'm glad she didn't do anything crazy, and still ended up supporting them both and also really help them out as well. Same, with Xu Ning Yuan, even though he really liked Zhao Jiang Yue, I felt like he really didn't actually like like her, he was just being swayed by like everyone else's thoughts! But I am really called that they both made a cute contract, but actually both slowly ended up liking each other was very cute!

I think overall the story was really good, I like the way it was like a slow paced get together, and like because of Zhao Jiang Yue's age, she had to really think about everything, and how patient Gu Jia Xin was with her and whatever her decision, and how they would talk to each other a lot, and like really rely on each other and not have many misunderstandings but always there to support each other!

I also loved the little like Love Note Videos they make for the app at the end, like with different themes on Love and how like it was basically another mini story! - Very smart, and some things were really good to learn too.

Spoiler here: But I think what was really cute was at the end when Zhao Jiang Yue proposed in the video from throughout the 6 months they weren't together. Just preparing for it and then actually all the hard work from the app as well. IT was soo cute, actually did make me tear a little of how cute it was!

And my favourite was what she said at the end of the episode:
"Maybe in this world, there's no women who doesn't know how to love. They just haven't felt love. No matter what is your age, or mood as long as you want to love you can! The secret of happiness isn't hard. Are you ready for happiness?

I loved this sentence, even though it feels like a finished drama, I feel like there could have been more too it! But I enjoyed the ending!

Sweet and Concise Story of Opposites Attract

(this is mostly spoiler free, but I notated the spoiler down below)

If I were to describe how I feel about this show, I would say this was heartwarming and simple. They delivered a sweet and concise love story between two seemingly opposite people that fit each other perfectly.

The plot is simple: Zhao Jiang Yue is our typical girl boss that doesn't understand love, yet is in charge of developing an app that teaches users about love (ironic, isn't it?). Gu Jia Xin is the heir of the company who has no intentions of inheriting the business and just wants to be a professional motorcycle racer. And as usual, Gu Jia Xin's mother, aka the CEO, wants him to take over the company after she retires and asks Zhao Jiang Yue to train him as her assistant. You got all of your typical tropes: older woman with a younger man, office romance, workaholic falling in love with a free spirit, etc. You also got your side pairings and love rivals. I must admit that I didn't quite love the side pairings, both of which don't feel like healthy and sustainable relationships. The main pairing though, they are a good example of a healthy relationship (to some degree, still not perfect).

What the show did really well was its consistency. The characters remain true to themselves throughout the show, with none of that silly change in personality once they fall in love. When conflict arises, they make a realistic and believable attempt to resolve it. When plot points and backstory is introduced throughout the show, they make sense with what we already know to be true and remain in the plot.

(*START of SPOILER*) My main issue with the show is how they handle the topic of marriage/divorce. While the relationships are well-paced in general, all of the characters suddenly are in a rush to get married by the last few episodes. It sort of ruins the last parts of the show but not entirely. Maybe it is just my beliefs on marriage, but the idea of rushing into marriage and leaving the whole "get to really know all sides of your partner" until you are already married seems like a failed marriage in the making. Is that just me? (*END of SPOILER*)

Overall, this is a good show if you are craving a wholesome and simple love story. <3

fun and light, definitely a feel-good, will make you smile drama

I love older woman-younger man dramas. I find it really cute and it makes me soft. The leads have amazing chemistry which kept me excited and entertained, but overall, this drama isn't anything special. But if you want to watch something light and fun, this drama may be for you.

The story is very basic; they're just in the office. Nothing heavy or crazy. The plot revolves around the two leads getting together. It did take a while, but it didn't feel long or draggy, so that's a plus.

The worst thing in this drama are the OSTs. OSTs are very important to me because it adds so much emotions and the impact of the drama feels stronger when the OST gets stuck in your head. The OSTs are terrible, not even going to sugarcoat it. The songs are very happy with subpar vocals. I know that's not the main point of the drama but I really did not like it.

The ending is quite anti-climactic and cliche, not gonna lie, but probably because I saw so many trailers in douyin before seeing the finale. The entire plot is pretty cliche so don't expect too much, but the chemistry saved it. Not the best drama out there, but I did have fun. I doubt I'll watch it again.

First Impression

Another recommended drama for you who are tired of romantic drama with immature and playing cute female characters, arrogantly crazy rich CEO (or the son), bullying, toxic relationships, or a character who talks unstoppably. If you are looking for drama with a mature relationship with a non-Cinderella Story, no toxic parents, no toxic friends, this is the answer to your prayer, lol.
The story is not draggy at all. The writer knows very well and uses 4 stories to length the duration.

The main story (Jiang Yue and Jia Xin) calls out a sad realization on men's prejudice that women were supposedly lower than them. Not supposed to have a good career, high income, and handy.
Jiang Yue, the female lead is a very independent woman who has just reached 30. She's a workaholic who works at a dating agency, has a high position in her office, and can do everything, even plumping, etc, herself until most of her coworkers thought she's a feminist.
Jia Xin, the ML is 8 years younger than her and the son of the agency's owner, but he looks very "human" to me. He loves "legal" racing (many drama characters love illegal racing), and was once a racer and in rehabilitation for his trauma. Even though he was forced to work as the FL's assistant and often asked her to fire him, he never intentionally try to give her a hard time and do his best for the time he works there. He even ended loves his job and nicely offered to help her to get the man she likes.
He is having the normal immaturity of a 22 y.o (a lot of drama has characters with ridiculous immaturity), which I find very cute. He knows he is handsome and uses it to chase for Jiang Yue in a cute way too.

The second story is about a person's concern about other people's views of her. Jing Jing, the second female lead is a gorgeous and famous social media celebrity. As the face of the company, she has to face the fact that her husband cheated on her wants to divorce, she has to keep on lying to keep her endorsement and her public persona as "The Queen of Love".
Acceptable... Even though I hope the writer will try a different approach, such as showing how brave she is and admitting to her company and followers that her relationship is ended. And showing more of her effort in making all her followers understand, and sharing on how to overcome it.

The third one is between Ya Ran and Ning Yuan. Both of them are in love with the main characters and they help each other in love, but not in a toxic way. I think their story kinda cute, and I shipped them to end up together.
You will not find any villain with beyond evil kind of heart which give you depression when they appear on the screen. Li Yan Ran is the most annoying character and ridiculously immature characteristic, but she just does that to Jia Xin; she looks very normal when she has interaction Ning Yuan. I kinda like Ya Ran actually, she never does any harm to any characters, even to Jiang Yue, as her love rival.

The Fourth one is... the most uninteresting one, a love story between Duo Xi and Qi Heng, childhood friends who meet again after..... 10 years if I'm not mistaken.

I think I'll continue to invest my time in watching this one. And I hope, my good opinion on this one will change.

Sincerity & Lots of Cheese

*Minor Spoilers*

The story isn’t all that complex but what really holds up this drama is how adorable and funny the ML and FL are and their hurdles to being together. The story starts out with the ML teaching the FL how to date her crush who is back from being abroad. Of course, feelings start to develop as well as other challenges.

The FL:
Something I love about this drama is that the FL (Jiang Yue) doesn’t get all timid and nervous around the ML. I think this is primarily due to the fact that she only sees him as a subordinate and so there’s really no awkwardness when he is around or comes into her home. Even as they develop a closeness she still seems incredibly comfortable with him in her home. I appreciate this so much because it's not very often we see a FL be relaxed and comfortable with a male in their home.

The ML:
Jia Xin is adorable, sweet, and very thoughtful. Even before he realizes his feelings for the FL he is supportive and caring towards her. There really isn’t any sort of hate to love. Yes, they bicker here and there but there’s no distance between them. Even in the beginning when she’s tough on him and he calls her a “she-devil boss” it isn’t exactly ill-willed.

The 2FL:
Mostly I find Li Yan Ran incredibly annoying. Constantly whining. Constantly making a fool of herself. Clinging to the ML-like a delusional little child. HOWEVER, she has 1 really nice saving grace which is that she doesn’t go after the FL in a professional sense. Yes, she does try to keep the ML and FL away from each other but she never goes after her professionally. I respect her for that but that’s about it in regards to liking her.

The 2ML:
Honestly, there’s not much to say about Xu Ning Yuan. He’s just kinda there to be the love rival but other than the FL having an old crush on him, he’s of no real competition. He’s not as good-looking. He’s pretty boring. He’s pretty much the male equivalent to the FL at the beginning of the drama. I didn't find him very interesting in any way.

The Side Couples:

1. The FL’s best friend (Jing Jing) and her husband - I liked these 2 and I honestly wanted more from their story. It felt a little incomplete to me. I want more about why he did what he did. It was explained but personally, I could have used more explanation. Also, did she explain everything to her fans? Did they accept her back? It was all sort of glossed over.

2. The ML’s friend and FL’s co-worker/friend - Very cute but I didn’t care about their relationship. It was boring compared to the other relationships. I want good things for them but I don’t care to watch it, you know? *shrug*

Final Thoughts:
I debated what to rate this drama. For me, it’s really somewhere between a 7.5-8. I would still recommend it but what is entertaining about this drama is the relationship and not much else so when they focused on other things, I found myself zoning out. The cute moments are really really stinking cute, but the business end of it was really boring for me. Also, I thought racing would be a bigger part of the story. (‘‘Twas not)

Overall, this drama is a rom-com through and through. It’s funny and cute, with the right amount of jealousy and conflict. What it lacks in complexity and consistency, it makes up for in laughs and heart flutters.

Would Recommend to rom-com lovers
Maybe Re-watch (but with skipping)

I actually enjoyed this drama its fun amazing chemistry between leads
good to have drama that is diffrent with a strong FL and typical clumsy one and no toxic ex gf or bf..i actually liked the clingy girl always around the male lead she was funny and did not cause typical unrealistic drama..so in overall its a good drama to watch and enjoy your time with funny moments and pleasant actors

Fluffy Drama with Hot Couple

Chill. Super fluffy. ML’s acting left much to be desired but he was dang easy on the eyes. He did get better over the episodes. Kinda. FL was awesome. She was authoritative and cold boss lady without being obnoxious and warm in the right places. The chemistry was not on fire but the kisses started and dang!! Explosion. They were so touchy that it was like how new couples really are. There were no silly misunderstandings. The couple communicated and supported each other. It was a fun light watch. The side couples didn’t take over the stage. The one office girl and ML’s friend did get a lot of screen time but they at least weren’t overly annoying and you could easily skip their scenes.
