I was prepared to give this a 10 but wasn't prepared to be given a 7
I was expecting sooo much more from this. It's a great concept that requires several episodes and not just 10 but since this is a BL, they're allergic to that but somehow won't mind a 50-episode Kdrama. What really ruined this drama was the length. They've shortened and cut A LOT from the novel that it literally shows you how rushed it is. They did not even properly show how they proved the innocence of Chaeha's father by interviewing Pro Joo's brother. They didn't even show Chaeha and Pro Joo's date! I am so mad that they had a good material but didn't utilized it better.
As for the acting, they're fine. But I feel like Chaeha's actor could be better. He is very stiff.
Also, the reason why I don’t like watching kdramas or KBL is their cinematography. Like is Korea allergic to textured skin? Why do Korean dramas like to make the people poreless? It's giving 360 beauty filter.
I'm torn to say if this is a step up for a KBL or another let-down disguised as a step-up. Because yes, the kissing scenes here definitely on another level compared to other KBLs but on the other hand, the plot, the cinematography, the acting, and everything else are not.

Not Perfect, But Definitely Enjoyable
I honestly didn't expect much from Prosecutor's Proposal, especially since it's a low-budget BL K-drama, but it was actually pretty good. Sure, the plot was kind of predictable, and I could see most of the twists coming, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. There were quite a few scenes that were genuinely interesting and kept me invested, and the chemistry between the leads was nice to watch. One thing that really stood out to me was the acting. I thought the cast did a really good job and made the characters feel believable, which definitely made the drama more enjoyable. My only complaint is that I wish the episodes had been a bit longer because I wanted more time with the characters and their story.
It's not a groundbreaking drama, but for what it is, it delivers a fun and enjoyable experience. If you go into it without expecting anything too complex, it's definitely worth watching. Overall, it was a good watch, and I don't regret giving it a chance.

The Thriller K-BL We’ve Been Manifesting
This feels like the true entrance of a thriller-crime mystery K-BL—something many of us have been yearning for, or maybe even manifesting. It strikes a perfect balance between plot and chemistry, which makes it even more engaging. The story beautifully weaves a redemption arc with gradually unfolding truths, while also giving the characters space to become each other’s comfort zone. That emotional depth adds so much more weight to the narrative.
For me personally, one of the strongest points is that there isn’t a single unnecessary scene. Every moment feels purposeful, which helps the drama capture the audience’s attention almost instantly.
And maybe this is an unpopular opinion—but I can’t help it—they have that iconic “Holy Yaoi height difference,” and yes, I absolutely love it.
At the end of the day, I always stand by this: if a series is able to hold your attention and keep you entertained, then just enjoy it for what it is.

Come for the dark crime thriller, stay for the Human Vacuum Cleaner.
As someone who has watched countless BLs, The Prosecutor's Proposal easily clears the competition to claim a spot in my Top 5 of all time. South Korea has officially shown everyone exactly how it's done. I went from having zero expectations to being completely obsessed after episode one. Waiting for Thursdays felt like an actual eternity—so much so that I literally forced myself to read the entire original novella just because I couldn’t survive the cliffhangers!A Mainstream K-Drama Masterclass
This isn't just a great BL; it feels like a top-tier, high-budget Korean crime thriller—think a BL version of Strangers wrapped in a sharp detective atmosphere. The premise alone is elite: the son of the victim (Ju Tae-seon) working alongside the son of the murderer (Lee Chae-ha) to untangle 15 years of corporate corruption. The filmography, the script, the pacing, and the incredible music by Studio Oak are absolutely brilliant. The raw emotional range delivered by this cast is next-level; you truly feel like you are watching A-list actors at the absolute peak of their game.
Ju Tae-seon: The Human Vacuum Cleaner
We have to talk about the romance because the chemistry here should be illegal. Ju Tae-seon starts off playing a cold, calculated "office psychopath," but the second he falls for Chae-ha, he goes completely feral. Can we get a moment of silence for Chae-ha’s lips? Because Tae-seon is literally a vacuum cleaner in human form 💀💨. Is there any oxygen left in the room when this man locks in?! Every kiss scene is an aggressive intake of air and soul—he looks like he hasn't eaten in 15 years and is trying to devour Chae-ha whole, professional ethics and office walls be damned!
The Devastating Emotional Rollercoaster
Beyond the chaotic, down-bad energy, the angst is pure excellence. The heavy, suffocating trauma between them, the way their pasts are weaponized against them, and the transition from toxic revenge to literal "I will burn the whole world down to clear your father's name and protect you" devotion had me crying in the club. When all the final pieces of the puzzle fell into place, the tears were flowing.
My only real complaint is the runtime. It is a damn shame the episodes were so short because a masterpiece with a plot this insane easily deserved a full-fledged, 45+ minute, 16-episode mainstream run. Still, director Yang Kyung-hee created absolute magic with the time given. Everyone on this project acted their hearts out and deserves the world. I rarely rewatch shows, but I am binging this again immediately. Do not skip this masterpiece. Just watch it!

I’M HOOKED!
an investigator who’s the son of a murderer meets a prosecutor who’s an absolute psychopath? I’M SEATED!this is probably my second time seeing Korea doing a crime-thriller BL (first one being The Lie We Lived In, just finished airing today, the same day The Prosecutor’s Proposal started airing!)
I’m always a sucker for crime dramas when it’s done right. and this one seems to be doing a great job at it so far! the production quality, the acting, everything makes it seem like I’m watching a whole a$$ kdrama and not a BL! Korean bl has stepped up their game, and I’m so here for it🥳
this is the story of Lee Chaeha - a newly appointed lower grade investigator, and Ju Taeseon - an infamous highly righteous higher graded prosecutor. Chaeha lived most of his life bearing the “murderer’s son” tag. Taeseon spent most of his life hating murderers, and finding every possible way to punish them.
now, as a prosecutor, Chaeha has immense respect for Taeseon and his work. meanwhile, Taeseon feels nothing but hatred for Chaeha - the son of a murderer.
I had high expectations from the moment they first dropped the trailer for this drama. and then I found out this is directed by the same director as Secret Relationships, my expectations grew even higher. and after the first two episodes, they did not disappoint!
the cinematography is absolutely stunning. the storytelling is full of suspense, keeping us on the edge of our seats. both main leads are doing a phenomenal job. especially Ju Taeseon. bro made me convinced that he’s a psychopath 😭 and the chemistry between them is absolute fire!
the first two episodes have me absolutely hooked. I can’t wait to see how this unfolds!
my only complaint is, WHY SO SHORT😭 we needed AT LEAST half an hr episodes of this amazingness🥹

BEST KOREAN BL
genuinely ts is SO GOOD. it's a top-tier BL - the acting, the soundtrack, the enemies to lovers. IT'S SO PEAK. It definitely goes up there in one of my favourite romances of all time. The acting, the yearning, the angst, the passion. genuinely does not get more peak than this i actually can not rn. only disappointment is the ending it was too rushed, and that the episodes are diabolically too short. i hate korea's culture of not having proper BL shows and having to strip them to such short episodes. hopefully this progresses in the future because ong this show deserved to be a 16 episode kdrama. compared to the crap a lot of straight kdramas i see pumped out on netflix nowadays that are boring as hell, this one actually had me hooked and rewatching earlier episodes in desperate wait for the next ones every week.the actor of ju taeson was definitely the highlight in this drama. the way he takes over the screen with his dominating presence like i was actually in awe. he's gotta be the handsomest kdrama actor i've seen by far. his whole manner in this drama exudes authority and seriousness and the way he slowly starts to fall for chae-ha before he himself even realises it - IT'S TOO GOOD OMG. and lee chaeha is so cute as well with his doe eyes. the sexual tension in this show is literally off the charts. both the actors with their long coats striding to the crime scene - literally feels like I'm watching a webtoon brought to life. i will be rewatching this show religiously.
please guys if there's one kdrama i recommend you to watch, be it this one.

Koreas BL Improvement
I'm a huge fan of korean bls, and i frequently watch expecting not much, as so i did when i heard about this one. I was excited bcs we dont get much suspense k-bls, but still not much hope, but as soon as i saw what would happen it lit my world. I'm used to one single kiss which is often only a peck but this... This is a real relationship! We are in a great year for BL and i dont think i will find a better kbl than The Prosecutors Proposal!! Hoping the company hears the fans and make them a fixed couple or at least another bl/another season of this one.

The Prosecutor is intense
They successfully delivered both justice through its storyline and intimacy through its romance. With its mystery-crime BL concept, the drama carries a heavy and intense atmosphere, and the performances of the main characters elevated that feeling even more.Ju Tae Seon started as a bully, but as the story progressed, he revealed himself to be a genuinely caring partner. Kim Yoon Sik completely captivated me with this role because it’s the complete opposite of his personality in real life.
On the other hand, Lee Chae Ha was unfortunately the victim of constant bullying from his peers. As an adult, I honestly don’t understand why people continue to bully others as if they never grew out of a childish mindset. Workplace bullying is especially frustrating to watch.
What made the story even more interesting was how the couple’s lives were connected through their fathers. One was killed, and the other became the prime suspect. It was such a messy situation, but it also became one of the strongest and most compelling parts of the drama.
The sexual tension between them was incredible, and they really took the intimate scene to another level. Especially the bathroom scene that completely shocked and gagged me.
I have to admit that crime and mystery stories aren’t really my cup of tea, so I wasn’t always fully focused on every case. Still, I had already guessed that the cute and bubbly Song Ha Neul would end up being the villain. He’s still handsome and adorable in real life, though, so he still wins in my book. I liked how the ending tied all of the crimes together and finally brought everything to a satisfying conclusion. The only aspect I wasn’t a fan of was the use of AI.
Overall, the chemistry was definitely giving, and the dynamic between the sassy prosecutor and his obedient inspector made them incredibly fun to watch. Combined with mystery and emotional backstory, made this a memorable BL drama despite a few elements that weren’t entirely my taste.

Bref trop bienWas this review helpful to you?
Would've been perfect if it was given proper time
The only thing that made this series a 9.5 instead of 10 for me was that it was too short, and because it was too short it had to cram a lot of stuff in its runtime. Which did make the plot suffer BUT it didn't make the chemistry any less.In fact I'll say it made the tension between the main characters burn even brighter. Both actors were phenomenal in their work and their chemistry was so goddamn good I wish I can raise money to have them in another series. Despite the time constraint they tried their best to wrap all ends and gave us a satisfying end. All actors gave full justice to their roles. The music gave a very good ambience, the intimacy moments felt heated but not over the top.
10/10 if it was like 20 episode long but good thing this has a novel so I'll be reading that.
