- nonsense with a major injury he was quickly out of the hospital and then back to work, he could have easily pushed her so this felt like "because the writers said so" and then a second similar injury
- it needed a bit more screen time to more fully flesh out the plot and chemistry
- one character needed a little more agency
- *the prosecutor purposefully got him drunk though there was the magical 'seemed completely drunk and a few minutes later was sober enough to be an active participant', I wish the writers would have flip flopped that and the later time so when he crossed the threshold that was their first time instead

1oh they're getting better and better!
Korean BLs are officially in a brand-new era, and this is the ultimate proof. Gone are the days of low-budget campus romances with stiff acting; this show brought serious production value, a legitimate budget, and a dark, high-stakes legal procedural plot that actually had real narrative weight.For 90% of its run, the show was an absolute delight. The pacing perfectly balanced crime-thriller mystery with an intense, addictive romantic tension. Cramming 15 years of corporate conspiracies, murder cover-ups, and emotional resolutions into the final episode was definitely a stretch. The wrap-up felt a bit hasty, but it certainly wasn't enough to drag down the sheer quality of the rest of the series.
Also, can we officially petition K-drama directors to give the beach trope a rest? It does not matter if a show is a lighthearted rom-com or a dark, blood-soaked crime thriller—without fail, the characters will end up standing on a windy coast in the final five minutes staring at the ocean or whatever. At this point, it’s practically a legal requirement for KBLs, but it's a small price to pay for a show this good lmao.
Nonetheless, this easily sets a new benchmark for what KBLs can achieve. With top-tier visuals, serious budget, and incredible chemistry, it is an absolute must-watch!

Formulaic execution of one of my favorite dynamics, with a tacked on happy end
I appreciate the sexual chemistry, humor, fight scenes, and opening song as well as the general vibes, but the storyline and crime aspects are weak. No, I don't expect 16 hours of build-up to a cataclysmic revelation that shakes the very foundation of who Chaeha and Taeseon are. In a different story, I wouldn't mind Chaeha jumping in front of a knife for Taeseon at the halfway mark already, and I guess it makes sense on paper why he does it here. I would have enjoyed myself more, though, had the threats been mounting for longer.As it is, it feels like the writers thought, "Okay, we're at this point in the episode count, so it's time for XYZ sex scene," and "Oh, now this much time has passed, so we need to insert dramatic scene number 5." Like, what? The leads do quite well to very well during these big moments, but... I live for the tension. And for the love of God, let me sit with my emotions and wallow in the pain! I need to be able to kid myself that bad things will actually happen and that the issues will be resolved in the next 5 episodes, not in the next 5 minutes!
This show is off to a strong start but doesn't deliver and honestly lacks creativity (of course, Chaeha gets knifed more than once). It is unfortunate, but having watched Beyond Evil, The Devil Judge, and Hannibal's much more thrilling portrayals of this kind of dynamic, I'm not sold on The Prosecutor's Proposal's version. I read a comment calling this story half-baked, and I regrettably must concur. There's a BL in my future that will do the morally gray-but-also-fighting-for-what's-right-and-definitely-BDSM-flavored "I will die and kill for you"-duo justice, no doubt.

Best Korean BL drama!
I am totally obsessed with this series! 😭 I really love the story because it keeps you interested the entire time and never feels boring. The two main actors are incredible and they fit their roles so perfectly. Their chemistry and acting make the story even better. I can’t believe there are only 2 episodes left! I honestly don’t want it to end. 😭 I wish they could make the episodes longer since they’re only around 25 minutes, but overall I absolutely recommend watching it. The last 10–15 minutes had me so tense. So much was happening, and I was literally tearing up during the final scenes. They had me so emotional!
This is officially my favorite Korean BL, and honestly... it might even be my favorite BL ever. ❤️

The Weight of Someone Else's Sins
I can't believe it's already over.Was the ending satisfying? I think so. Could the series have used two more episodes? Two more seasons? Absolutely.
The setup is almost unfairly good: fifteen years after a murder shattered both of their lives, the son of the victim and the son of the killer find themselves reunited on opposite sides of the law. Ju Tae-seon has turned his grief into purpose. As a prosecutor, he's relentless and unforgiving, carrying the past like a weapon. Lee Chae-ha, now an investigator, has spent his entire adult life trying to prove that he's more than the legacy his father left behind. Two magnets with every reason to repel each other, pulled together anyway.
The intensity between them is real and immediate, and the show earns it.
That scene in episode seven — Lee Chae-ha standing in the rain outside Ju Tae-seon's door and then stepping across the threshold. Chef's kiss doesn't cover it.
Where I found myself slightly disconnected was around the big reveal of Ju Tae-seon's true identity. I had assumed both men already knew who the other was — that their mutual pull came precisely from that shared, unspoken understanding of what it means to carry that particular kind of grief. The idea that they were the only people in the world who truly knew what the other's pain felt like.
That, to me, was already enough. I didn't need a hidden identity to create tension; I wanted to watch two people who recognised themselves in each other's grief. So when the revelation landed as a dramatic twist, it didn't quite hit me the way it was probably intended. If anything, it made me wonder why Lee Chae-ha had allowed himself to be treated the way he was, without that context.
What I would have loved instead: both of them knowing from the beginning, and the complexity coming not from the secret itself but from what they do with that knowledge. Lee Chae-ha accepting Ju Tae-seon's anger — even their increasingly complicated intimacy — out of guilt, while both of them slowly realise that what's happening between them has started to heal something that neither of them ever expected to heal. The power and the tenderness existing at the same time, and neither of them quite knowing what to do with that.
The actual crime investigation is where the series occasionally lost me. I enjoy a good mystery, but I found it genuinely difficult to follow what was actually happening — who was connected to whom and why it all mattered. Ironically, I had guessed who the real culprit was fairly early on, despite never feeling like I had a complete grasp of the investigation itself. And I could have done without the AI elements, which felt unnecessary and slightly out of place in a story that worked best when it stayed grounded and human.
But none of that changes how much I appreciated what this series was doing. The performances are excellent across the board, and the intimate scenes carry genuine weight — that particular combination of intensity and vulnerability is genuinely rare in BL. This is adult storytelling: a crime series where two men happen to fall for each other, rather than a romance that uses crime as decoration. The show understands the difference, even if I occasionally wished it had leaned even harder into the slow burn — more pining, more quiet terror at the realisation of what these feelings actually are.
There was still so much left to explore. I wasn't ready to leave these characters behind.

Phenomenal acting skills, good chemistry, interesting story, worth to watch
The prosecutor's proposal is like a good coffee on a rainy day in Korea. It is definitely something you have to watch during the holidays, once you start it, you just keep wanting more & more...The actors were chosen perfectly, I honestly can't imagine anyone else for these roles. The chemistry is really good. I even thought while I was watching the 6th episode, if they had the main roles in a few series I found poor, I'd have liked that specific series (side note: Kim Yoon-Sik is so insanely handsome and you'll see 😌). Oh, and I also like the character development!!
And not to mention, THE EFFORT THEY PUT INTO ALL OF THIS. Like that's genuinely mind-blowing (for instance: search Studio Oak on Youtube).
The story is also well-written, it creates a detective atmosphere and you feel like you're suddenly in a Columbo episode hahaha.
All I can say is even though I rarely rewatch series I've already watched once, I'll definitely rewatch this one ❤️. Give it a shot!

The contrast between them made their chemistry even more enjoyable.
An enjoyable watch from start to finish. It blends thriller and drama beautifully, telling the heartbreaking story of two souls who were deeply scarred by the cruelty they endured at such a young age.At first, I was worried the series would lean too heavily into the thriller side and neglect the emotional aspect. Thankfully, that wasn't the case. It turned out to be engaging, emotionally compelling, and surprisingly sensual.
This is a BL that stands out from the crowd. The writers clearly know how to tell a good story, striking the perfect balance between emotion, suspense, humor, and romance. It's not overly sweet or unrealistically happy, and that's exactly what makes it work.
I couldn't help but smile watching such a broad, rugged prosecutor completely overwhelm Chae Ha, who is so slight, shy, and slender. The contrast between them made their chemistry even more enjoyable.
I'll admit that, since this is a Korean production—and Korean BLs tend to be more reserved when it comes to romance and intimacy—The Prosecutor's Proposal was a wonderful surprise.
Without trying to be overly ambitious, it delivers a talented cast, solid production values, confident direction, beautiful cinematography, and a few intimate scenes that are tasteful rather than excessive. (That said, after the final scenes of Payback Episode 8, every other BL's intimate moments seem "tame" by comparison. 😂)
Overall, I really enjoyed it. A well-made series with a compelling story, memorable characters, and just the right amount of emotion, suspense, romance, and humor.

The crime is the ending
The series began with so much intrigue that it kept me glued to the screen, eagerly anticipating each new episode. It was a classic whodunit that constantly had me guessing who the real culprit was. While it lacked the intensity and suspense of a true crime drama, it’s difficult to expect that level of grit from a BL series.This was a low-production Korean series with plenty of potential. The premise was promising, but unfortunately, the writing never lived up to it. With episodes running only about 20 minutes each, the story lacked the depth needed to develop either the mystery or the characters. The romance didn’t feel natural and often seemed forced. Too many questions were raised throughout the series, only to be left unclear.
The acting, particularly by Park Si Woo, wasn’t convincing. Whether it was his performance or the director’s inability to draw out the necessary emotions, his portrayal of a broken, defenseless former police officer was difficult to believe. In contrast, Cho Min Kyu was the standout of the cast, delivering a compelling performance as the unhinged antihero.
The ending was perhaps the biggest disappointment. The obvious CGI beach scene felt completely out of place, and using handcuffs as a symbol of lifelong commitment came across as more cheesy than meaningful.
I genuinely wanted this series to succeed and found myself rooting for it from the very beginning. Sadly, despite its intriguing premise, it ended up being a missed opportunity that never fulfilled its potential.

The finale was rushed
It feels like they cut maybe 2 episodes before the beach scene. I was so confused. I was asking myself did Lee Chae Ha survive the stabbing? Is this sunset beach his ghost? It really could've been but in the end I want our boys to have a happy ending so that's what I will choose to believe.'I did appreciate the sentiment of "I'd rather be miserable together than happy alone." It shows how devoted he is.

Watch for sweet but psycho Ju Tae Seon
Note: The drama's intro theme has been created using AI.To start with, I would suggest not reading the plot summary. Part of it ruined my watching experience. Unless you prefer to have all your facts in advance then go ahead.
Lee Chae Ha decides to become a police officer after struggling being labelled as a son of a murderer. He gets called to work in the prosecutor's office under Ju Tae Seon who detests murderers and bizarrely Chae Ha as well. So it doesn't make sense why he wants to work with him. Even more bizarre is when he angrily kisses him. The show definitely wanted to give us a wild start! It was quite intriguing as to why he was behaving this way so I enjoyed the journey of his evolution.
Chae Ha seemed to have some level of guilt so even when his senior was clearly abusing him, he refused to walk away. Professionally, they seemed to do well together despite the bickering and the disgust Tae Seon felt for him.
There are 2 cases that are the focus of this show - one is a murder in the present and second is the murder of the past committed by Chae Ha's father. In my opinion, the mystery wasn't great. The presentation of the murder case they were working on was confusing and I lost interest in it. I just barely followed along . Similarly the case of the past, I couldn't fully grasp the significance of the murder. Some clues are in the intro. If it wasn't for the two leads and their relationship, I wouldn't have cared about this drama even though I love crime thrillers. I felt like this was the weakest aspect of the show. Also, it was pretty obvious where the show was headed.
The final episode was nice and everything was wrapped up pretty quickly.
I still applaud Korea for trying something new even if it wasn't perfect. At least I enjoyed the journey and that's what I mainly gave it points for. I especially loved Kim Yoon Sik's acting and portrayal as Ju Tae Seon. He's definitely eye candy!
The OST is pretty good too. I just wish they didn't use AI so I had to deduct points for that.

Worthy of the hype
I came into this with high expectations, and I'm happy to say that it delivered! Yang Kyung Hee is quickly becoming one of my favorite directors in the KBL sphere, and this is easily one of her best works. The leads' chemistry is electric. The whole cast is great, but Kim Yoon Sik perfectly embodies Ju Tae Seon.Honestly I think this would have worked better with 12+ 1 hour episodes like a standard K-drama which would've allowed for smoother pacing, but I applaud the tremendous effort that went into making it as good as it is despite the shorter runtime. Not a single second was wasted. I do have some other gripes like the use of generative AI, but besides that the production quality was consistently high. In terms of story, the plot is a tad bit predictable, but that's forgivable as it's more about the journey of solving the mystery rather than the mystery itself. The main draw of the show is undoubtedly the dynamic between the MC and ML, and every interaction between them is golden.
Overall this is the perfect mix of drama, mystery/thriller, and romance (with some top-tier NC scenes). I've been dying to see a good detective/crime drama BL à la Beyond Evil or The Devil Judge, and this is just that.

They dared take a chance, and it was worth it
⛓️💥Two main things stand out about this BL⛓️💥1. The topic - Crime/Thriller is not a thing seen before in a Korean BL. At least not that I'm aware of. It felt like a breath of fresh air. For the most part, the show managed to balance the development of the relationship as well as maintaining the intrigue of the case
2. The actors - Aside from the fact that they are quite good at portraying their assigned characters and emotions, their chemistry is magnetic. Their story starts off as a rather toxic and hurtful one to both. The actor playing Tae Son does a great job of portraying desire mixed with hate. I loathed him for the 1st 3 episodes. If you saw someone in the comment section call Ju Tae Son an adult bully, that was me.
Chae Ha actor nailed his miserable role rather well. While the drama doesn't show us much of his life b4 where the story starts, you can tell through his demeanor and the few flashbacks that he's had a rather hard life. It was riveting watching how he still sort out Tae Son, unable to resist his desire for him and the warmth he provided. This is despite the fact that Tae Son constantly hurting him with his words and actions - the sex was also probably rough as all heck but little Chae Ha likely loved it. And who am I to judge?

We as the audience do not get a satisfactory ending/answers to
1. The case that this entire show was based on. They built it up so much only for it to end up kinda meh and confusing. There are so many questions left and unanswered. We shall also not be talking about how everything just conveniently came together in these last 2 episodes. Everything and everyone was where they needed to be to close the case and let the mains, largely Tae Son win. Makes zero sense. The show says and shows that the case was resolved but as the audience, I am left feeling like it wasn't. Very anticlimactic
2. The resolution of the r/ship - Ep 8 dropped the bomb of the century to these two characters. Based on how big that reveal was and how the incidents surrounding the secret and their relationship affected them all their lives, the resolution should've never been that fast. That anticlimactic. We needed angst, we needed groveling and we deserved a better conversation between the two on how to move forward. Love that they got their happy ending but like...idk, it felt a bit empty. All that hate and hurt resolved just like that? Nah, I'm salty about it

Despite the atrocity that is the last 2 episodes, I say that this is a decent BL/Crime drama. It is a worthy watch just to see the electric chemistry that these two actors bring to the table
