ridiculous premise with fantastic execution
Overall: the chemistry is chemistrying. 10 episodes about 25 minutes each https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/6721/fake-fact-lips-2026-e01 (not available in Japan or Korea) and iQIYI https://www.iq.com/album/fake-fact-lips-2026-25iso5j3aap?lang=en_usWhat I Liked
- chemistry
- asked if he was okay after in episode 1
- it seemed in the flashback that both of them were the winner instead of always one being the winner (this equal dynamic plays out in the present as well)
- in episode 3 they explained the motivations for each in the past and had a nice conversation, continued to have good communication
- intimacy felt realistic (there wasn't giant space between their bodies, their hands were on the other person instead of at their side that we sometimes see)
- they avoided the common JBL pitfall when the characters talk and get together in the last 5 minutes of the final episode
Room For Improvement
- felt pretty nonsense how things escalated
- love rival with terrible unrealistic hair

Brilliant- a fun and breezy watch that also does not pull punches!
Admittedly, I am in a bit of a drama slump right now. Nothing has been able to retain my interest for longer than the first 2 episodes, so I started Fake Fact Lips without any high expectations.Wow, this show has me HOOKED. They waste no time establishing the setup, the dynamics between Ryo and Zen are clear from Ep 1, and the chemistry is chemistrying. The actors know their assignments and bring their A game when it comes to the skinship and the kisses, but their emotional connection is very well developed as well. Zen is a very well written "cat" character, the cold, aloof one who secretly cares a lot. I love that we see his affection for Ryo immediately.
And Ryo, omg, the actor and the character are absolute cuties.
They are able to build a lifetime's worth of existing tension between Ryo and Zen— and they have fantastic actors who portray their younger selves. This is such an easy and fun watch that I find it easy to recommend. I can easily see myself re-watching this yearly!

Reminds me of similar bet in Bad Buddy, only more grownup, where the rivals see who falls in love first. Very entertaining and addictive. The Acting is superb. Sensitive and heartfelt, but also smart and realistic, so it never seems cloying. . The sentiment is believable because the lead acting is perfect. The music is sophisticated and tuneful. This production is a cut above the usual BL. I can tell it is well written, a good adaptation of a good novel/manga. Was this review helpful to you?

One of the best ongoing JBLs right now!
I'm seriously so obsessed with this series waiting one episode per week feels like torture. Up until episode 2, the dumb premise didn't make me dislike the series because it's actually soo fun. The chemistry between the leads makes this all feel so natural. Their acting is also top notch. I love how we get equal parts spicy, equal parts wholesome and equal parts angst (?). Only downside is the NC scene is not the best, but I will let it slide cuz it's only the first one, and Im expecting better ones in the future. Everything else though!! This drama doesn't have any annoying leads or overally unrealistic characters. (However I would say the stuff leading to the plot is kinda unrealistic lmao) which I love.Seriously every BL lover should start this show. I cannot recommend this enough.

Two Rivals falling in Love
The premise of the story is simple and adheres to the manga. The actors portray the characters so well and they have great chemistry. The micro expressions, unspoken glances and actions are very good.It is almost like a slice of life series except about two persons coming together. I am really enjoying it and it’s the top of the heap thus far for BLs this year and that’s saying something as there are so many.

Do Straights Gooning Together?
The premise feels a bit unrealistic for straight characters, but curiosity can lead people to unexpected situations—so I’ll let it slide. The characters are likable, and thankfully there’s no cringe acting.
So far, the story mostly switches between the office and home settings, which makes things feel a bit repetitive and visually dull. I haven’t read the manga, but I’m hoping future episodes introduce more variety in locations.

CANNOT WAIT TO SEE HOW THIS SERIES ENDS!!!
This series is still airing but I am absolutely LOVING it SO MUCH!! EVERYTHING was so well portrayed, even down to the actors that played the younger versions of the main characters. Such phenomenal story telling with depth, chemistry, lighthearted humor, and an over all vibrant and "real" feel to it. Would definitely recommend!! Also, I damn near fell in love with Sato Yusuke so there's that. I can't wait to finish on this journey. :)Was this review helpful to you?

This starts with one of the dumbest bets I've ever seen—and somehow, it works perfectly. Two rivals who have competed in everything since high school continue their ridiculous rule: the loser must obey the winner. This time, it leads to something far more intimate.
It's chaotic, funny, and surprisingly addictive. The chemistry is already there, and the setup promises a messy but entertaining relationship.

Não me pegou
