Two Idiots and One Ridiculous Bet
Ryo and Zen have been competing since high school over absolutely everything, so when they end up working at the same company, their rivalry picks up right where it left off. One drunken conversation later, they somehow decide that turning romance into a competition is a perfectly reasonable life choice.Spoiler: it is not.
What makes this so fun is that neither of them realises they're already halfway in love before the game even starts. Watching two otherwise competent adults completely fail at understanding their own feelings is surprisingly entertaining.
The chemistry is great, the banter is even better, and for once the romantic progression actually feels natural. Also, thank you to this drama for remembering that adult men are capable of kissing like they actually want to be there.
My only real complaint is the late-arriving love rival, who feels less like a character and more like an obstacle someone forgot to remove from the script.
Overall, Fake Fact Lips is funny, sweet, slightly ridiculous, and very easy to binge. If you enjoy rivals-to-lovers stories, mutual pining, and two stubborn idiots accidentally falling in love while trying to win a competition, this one is definitely worth checking out.

Two Rivals falling in Love
The premise of the story is simple and adheres to the manga. The actors portray the characters so well and they have great chemistry. The micro expressions, unspoken glances and actions are very good.It is almost like a slice of life series except about two persons coming together. I am really enjoying it and it’s the top of the heap thus far for BLs this year and that’s saying something as there are so many.

One of the best ongoing JBLs right now!
I'm seriously so obsessed with this series waiting one episode per week feels like torture. Up until episode 2, the dumb premise didn't make me dislike the series because it's actually soo fun. The chemistry between the leads makes this all feel so natural. Their acting is also top notch. I love how we get equal parts spicy, equal parts wholesome and equal parts angst (?). Only downside is the NC scene is not the best, but I will let it slide cuz it's only the first one, and Im expecting better ones in the future. Everything else though!! This drama doesn't have any annoying leads or overally unrealistic characters. (However I would say the stuff leading to the plot is kinda unrealistic lmao) which I love.Seriously every BL lover should start this show. I cannot recommend this enough.

CANNOT WAIT TO SEE HOW THIS SERIES ENDS!!!
This series is still airing but I am absolutely LOVING it SO MUCH!! EVERYTHING was so well portrayed, even down to the actors that played the younger versions of the main characters. Such phenomenal story telling with depth, chemistry, lighthearted humor, and an over all vibrant and "real" feel to it. Would definitely recommend!! Also, I damn near fell in love with Sato Yusuke so there's that. I can't wait to finish on this journey. :)Was this review helpful to you?

Reminds me of similar bet in Bad Buddy, only more grownup, where the rivals see who falls in love first. Very entertaining and addictive. The Acting is superb. Sensitive and heartfelt, but also smart and realistic, so it never seems cloying. . The sentiment is believable because the lead acting is perfect. The music is sophisticated and tuneful. This production is a cut above the usual BL. I can tell it is well written, a good adaptation of a good novel/manga. Was this review helpful to you?
Changed my pov of JBL
First of of all I am not a fan of JBL because my all time favourite is Thai bl because they have long duration and give what I want...Where as JBL always had short duration and don't give that satisfactory scene (I am not talking about nc)
But this drama really changed my thoughts it was really good. It gives you everything you want like cuddle, kiss, compitition, lesson, friendship, motivation etc.
Something different about this drama is that they have the courage to do everything,at last the they tell their friend about their relationship was good..
I am telling you if Japan can make this type of drama I am ready to watch 🫶🏻💛
It is my first time writing a review... it is that good that I had to write it😅 Totally worth it...

Starts off good and ends great!
When you start a BL, you never can tell the quality of writing or acting you'll get. This one, however, never missed its mark. It definitely had some originality to it. Two long time best friends, both attracted to each other and yet afraid to let the other one know about it. True, that's not original at all, but stretched out over the series, these two protagonists definitely give off great chemistry as a very believable duo, not to mention some very seductive scenes. The pinnacle episode would without a doubt be episode 5, with the truth about all getting thrown front and center. The fact this happens so early on, you just know a rocky road awaits before the finale.
Yusuke Sato was a familiar actor to me and he does not disappoint with his performance. Kaito Hori gives and equally good performance, making for one of the better BL's in sometime.
It's a really "good feel" drama blended with a very satisfying ending.
All in all, definitely a must watch!

Competing to stay close.
This series was great!! I watched every episode as soon as it aired and now before watching the last episode i binged all the episodes to finish with the finale. The second time watching was almost better than the first time. This is now one of my favorite Japanese BL's.The story is great, the production is great, I loved the lighting with the NC scenes. I also loved the music!
They did a really good job with choosing the actors for the younger versions of the mains.
The main actors and their characters were very likable, the acting was fantastic.
They had so much chemistry and the kiss and NC scenes were amazing!
I highly recommend watching tis one, i for sure will watch this many more times in the future.

Perfect
I'm giving this show a perfect ten! I love both of the leads, both are gorgeous. It's a rare for BL to have an equal hot leads, and not making the other one (the uke) feminine or smaller or dumber. I love the enemy to lover trope. I love their bickering. I love how fool for love Ryo can be. I love how Zen always try to look cool. Was this review helpful to you?
This is how you write a BL story. Fucking Top-notch
Seriously if there was BL series or movie library like oscar has, i would have voted this drama to be hall of fame. Damn, what a realistic drama. Seriously i was tired of this fantasy drama, straight turning into gay ( almost impossible things), all your university friends u meet during your class are gay, nowadays red flag or black series. Among all these is drama hold the actual reality of relationship and love. I love how both them know their sexuality and with whom they fall in love. Those jealousy moments, doubt, similar to our life. And thanks for showing how miscommunication can create issues in relationship. Thats why we need to share what we feel. Story is top-notch. I would give this drama ♾️. Acting is best, no dull moments, direction, is fucking great. In the ocean of shitty bl series this is shinning like beacon of hope. Seriously i wanna fall in love like this. Give a shot and u guys will love this series. Was this review helpful to you?
a breath of fresh BL air
This Japanese BL drama is exactly the kind of comfort watch that leaves you smiling long after the credits roll. It strikes a perfect balance between sweetness and emotional tension, making every episode easy to enjoy while still keeping you invested in the characters. What makes the series work so well is the chemistry between Ryo and Zen. Their relationship develops through subtle glances, playful rivalry, and unspoken feelings, allowing the attraction to grow naturally rather than being forced. The inner conflict between the two characters and their agony of confessing their love through the years. The story takes familiar romantic tropes and presents them with the understated charm that Japanese dramas often do best.
The blend of lighthearted humor and heartfelt drama kept me hooked from beginning to end. Watching their feelings evolve from their high school days into something deeper creates many genuinely giddy moments that pull you into their world. The romance feels sincere, and the kisses are beautifully executed—not staged for fan service, but filled with tenderness and believable emotion.
The performances are another highlight. Both actors bring warmth and authenticity to their roles, making it easy to root for them as individuals and as a couple. Their chemistry elevates every scene they share.
Fake Fact Lips is one of those rare series I would happily rewatch. Like Revenge Love, its charm lies in telling a complete story in a single season. Rather than stretching the magic across multiple projects, it leaves behind a memorable romance that feels complete, heartfelt, and worth revisiting.
And the theme song “Dareyori Sukinanoni” sang by the lead actors Kaito Hori and Yusuke Sato is pure golden it’s on my playlist. Depicting the agonizing inner conflict loving and losing a good friend when he confesses his
