It was such a great one at first . Bored of waiting man , I had higher hopes, to be honest.

I expected more, but it was pretty one-note.
It was a total let-down.
At first it was just hatee that yu lie had for ke ke , he always hated the fact that his own sister admired chen ke a lot . I just can't believe that particular hate converted into love .
It's another serie that I'm watching rn , and Ik it's so much good cuz I watched it idk if people are actually liking it but about me I love this . Recently China is getting the title of a country for all great bls , I just can't believe from China's side these kind of impressive bls are coming up , day by day China's bls are getting fabulous ,
they all have great storylines with impressive and handsome cast better picture quality with great vfx .
I just don't know why people are not talking about it .
It's a great bl according to me , and I believe most of the people will like it if they try itt .
About the story :
Yu Lei used to be very jealous of chen ke's great performance in studies and stuff , idk why he hated ke ke for being so good to him .
They started talking slowly and yu lei actually understood that ke ke has the opposite personality from what he used to think . They got so much close and I could say that they kind of felt something for eachother , I could see the sight of jealously in ke ke's eyes when he saw ouyang clinging arround yu lie , but he tried his best to avoid that feeling cuz they were just friends according to yu lie , I don't know what the logic behind yu lie saying friends kiss each other to show intimacy .
I knew it's just yu lei would was avoiding his extreme feelings for che ke . He's so jealous when his sister spends time with ke ke , but he just didn't realise that it was jealousy . He was so in love with ke ke that he wanted to meet him after the break so much , wanted to talk to him more and more waiting for his call during the break .
Look at how worried he was when ke ke burned his leg , he even skipped baseball game to just celebrate ke's birthday , the main thing is he didn't like the fact that his sister was already there to celebrate ke's birthday .

I feel butterflies throughout my whole body just by the way they looked at each other , I could see from Mars that lei lei adores and admires chen ke a lot . He was admiring chen ke while playing the piano omgg he looked a boy admiring his first love .

I didn't like it when chen ke started to feel like he's the third wheel because of that ouyang .

In ep 5 yu lei cleared that he didn't like ouyang , I hope he stops meddling between my cuties , honestly i quite like the pair of ouyang and li ming .
I want my cuties to figure out their feelings and clear out all the misunderstandings .

It's a very good bl , so I want to recommend this drama → those who are looking for something like this ( as I mentioned above ) , please try to watch it you will love it for suree .

DISAPPOINTING .
Yeah , till now I actually felt like its so good but ep 7 disappointed me a lot ,
Don't you think they just took a lot of time to confess , idk what's wrong with them , why is it so hard for them to say a simple “ I like you ” both have been struggling with their feelings , whenever they tried something just came up every time . I wanted them to focus more on each other but how can Chen ke even suddenly say that he's leaving for abroad studies just like yu lei 's cousin , leaving him all alone , at the end he decided to let go all his feelings and his first love just to improve his academic performance but what about yu lei huhh .

Whatever atleast Yu lei showed how he felt at the end . Why this Chen ke is so cold , ik it hurt but he can't just leave like that .

The next episode , I hope it's better but from the teaser i don't think so , another problem is coming up , why the script is this much lengthy , y the leads can't stay happy just for a while .

There were go another problem .
Mannn , why can't they just have a simple time together , it's boring to wait , when are they going to confess , they're just so tight liped , literally it's the last episode and now they're confessing .
I don't think it was worth waiting for it at this point.
Honestly the last episode itself is not that impressive ,
I think the relationship between the second couple is far better than the main one , they're so clueless , in which era are they even living in , they literally didn't know how they felt which is dumb , cuz anybody can tell .

Not that good
Not worth waiting
Boring
Everytime unlucky

A lot of clichés, a lot of forced drama and not really the vibe of the early 2000...

I could not get into this series from the start... I did not feel the connection with the characters and for me it was just a standard BL with a cliché story. I expected it to be much more difficult for any gay couple to get together in the early 2000, it felt too easy and ordinary.

Of course we needed also drama in the finale with an attempted murder which made no sense for me. Was it done just to make them come together sooner and stir an emotional reaction in the viewers? Was it really necessary? Could it not have done any other way? I don't like such extremes in any series.

So for me, it was on ok show, but nothing which could spark any enthusiasm in me. For a chinese production it felt disappointing for me, at least when I compare it to recent productions which are all way way more interesting. If you want to watch it, you can, but if you don't it's nothing you would miss.

This is like a breath of fresh air

I quite liked the story and execution, it feels fresh...also, easily the least 'challenging', low-trauma, Chinese (Hong Kong) BL that I liked in the recent times..🥰

BL-needle Score: 8. Reasonably high BL-ness

Yu Lei is so crushing on Chen Ke....and its cute to see him confusing that attraction with rivalry.........so Yu Lei crushing on Chen Ke, Yu Lei's friend Ouyang Han is crushing on Yu Lei, and Chen Ke is slowly waking up to his attraction to Yu Lei....at times I also get this feeling that Yu Lei's cousin sister is also borderline crushing on Chen Ke...so a lot of confusing scenarios will probably emerge soon.. I'm also expecting major heartbreaks up ahead....

The quiet and insecure student is giving me a bad feeling, reminds me of that jealous classmate from The On1y One...I get a feeling that our duo will have something bad happen to them and this guy will be somehow involved

While it borderline reminded me of The On1y One at the beginning, beyond being a school life drama with a hint of rivalry and the whole boy-dorm thing, this is very different from that one

The story is quite engaging ..also liked how it is narrated in the flashback by the leads in turn, it gives you the feel right away that these people are probably estranged, or away from each other now and thinking back on the old days, how they met and got close to each other....

The production values are good, so is the acting, script, and music... I got hooked right from the start and felt compelled to write a review after quite some time.

Go watch!

Good but...

While I liked the simplicity of the story, mainly it was trying to show purity and innocence while coming to terms with their feelings, it was too light and at times naïve. I did like the actors chosen for each role. This didn't have the impact it should when it’s compared with shows like The On1y One.

The dubbing was part of the detraction. Everyone sounded breathless while trying to speak through a handkerchief. The final event felt a bit overdone. Why would officers ask for a full confession before he reached the station? Already arrested, move on. Why would Ye stay with bloody hands until Ke awakens hours after? Why wouldn't his sister bring a change of clothes and have him clean up? Wouldn't it be more traumatic for Ke? Why would Ke's mother bring a photo album to see her son who was just stabbed?

Han and Ming made this more enjoyable as they were more honest about their situationship.

I've said it before, you never know what you're getting out of China, no matter where it's filmed. It works for the period it was captured in but could have been better. This wasn't a bad watch as there were some good moments. Their first kiss was nicely done. Honestly, the last ep threw it off a bit with too many flashbacks. I would have loved to see Ke's mother’s feelings on their relationship.

Overall, watchable.

Simple, Sweet, Innocent slowburn Romance that gives me Butterflies.

Subjective Gut Rating: 8.25

“Feel What You Feel” is a Hong Kong/China co-production and that’s how it can slip past China’s censorship and gives us a few kisses and intimate scenes. This drama is not going to wow or surprise you with plot twists you have never seen before. Its merit comes from the slice-of-life simplicity and innocence. If that’s what you are looking for, this is an adorable love story.

Led by first time actors, Sun Cai Zhen and Liang Bei Yi, they really brought out the sweetness of these two young college students. I am especially impressed with Sun Cai Zhen, who is fun, outgoing and adorable as Yu Lei. His extroverted personality contrasts well with Liang Bei Yi’s Chen Ke. I can’t help but fall for Sun Cai Zhen’s handsome looks and sunshine personality. Liang Bei Yi’s acting is not bad for a first timer, but pales in comparison a little bit.

Their romance only encounters minor bumps, and misunderstandings are resolved rather quickly through honest, heart-to-heart conversations. I can’t help but smile whenever I see the two of them together. The characters are young, and the drama focuses on them slowly developing and realizing feelings of being more than just friends. Viewers might get frustrated because we can clearly see that Yu Lei and Chen Ke are acting like a couple. But for them, this is a slow realization and they just care deeply for each other. I would have liked some more time at the end of them as a couple and really give me some fluffy times.

One thing I like about this drama is the use of Chinese references to skirt past the stigma of gay romance or homosexuality. This drama does not talk about the challenges of coming out of the closet at all. Maybe it should have, since it was set in the 2000s. Instead, friends were watching the Hong Kong gay romance movie “Happy Together” (1997) which was a big deal back then. Two prominent Hong Kong actors, Leslie Cheung and Tony Leung, starred in this hit movie. It also referenced Chinese legends, Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai 梁山伯與祝英 in “Butterfly Lovers”, where the male lead fell in love with the female lead disguised as a man.

“Feel What You Feel” is not without faults. My main criticism is with the gloomy student and the chaos he created towards the end. If the reason for this twist is to drive the couple closer together, I think there could be better ways to do that. The secondary romance is cute and contrasts well with the main couple, but the execution could be better. It all feels lightning fast when their story could have started sooner, instead of dragging out the ‘love triangle’.

I was looking for something light to watch and “Feel What you Feel” hits the mark perfectly. I love their sweet, slow-burn romance and especially the main lead, Sun Cai Zhen. The drama has its faults and it’s nothing you have never seen before. I just found the two main leads really likeable and enjoy seeing them together very much. Thus, I am giving this a very subjective high 8.25-8.5.

A Story That Needed More Depth

Feel What You Feel had the potential to be a much stronger series, but its numerous plot inconsistencies ultimately disrupted the pacing and overall flow of the story.

That being said, I did enjoy the dynamic between the two main leads, Yu Lei and Chen Ke. Although their storyline occasionally felt more drawn out than necessary, I could still appreciate the reasoning behind it. Both characters are young and navigating unfamiliar emotions and experiences for the first time. The series did a commendable job portraying the gradual development of their relationship, particularly through themes of jealousy, care, vulnerability, and affection.

Unfortunately, the second lead storyline felt underdeveloped and somewhat misplaced within the overall narrative. Li Ming’s sudden shift came across as rushed, relying heavily on brief actions and lingering glances rather than meaningful buildup. While it was clear the series intended to show a turning point in his feelings, the execution lacked the depth needed to make the transition feel impactful.

As for Ouyang Han, I found his character particularly frustrating. While I understand the intention behind portraying someone with an intense crush, his inability to recognize boundaries or pick up on obvious social cues made him annoying. His actions often came across as intrusive rather than endearing, which negatively affected my perception of the character.

In contrast, He Jin is the most underdeveloped character. From the start, it is obvious that he struggles with loneliness, insecurity, and an inability to properly connect with others. His difficulty socializing and making friends is consistently hinted at throughout the story, yet the series never fully explores the root of these issues. The audience is only given brief statements about what he supposedly experienced. Aside from his awkward introduction with Chen Ke, much of He Jin’s character arc feels fragmented and confined to isolated moments that never fully tie back into the broader narrative. Because of this lack of development, his emotional breakdown later in the series feels sudden and disconnected, rather than serving as a powerful culmination of his internal struggles.

Overall, I did not fully enjoy the series, mainly because of its inconsistent storytelling and underdeveloped subplots. However, the show still had its strengths. The soundtrack was particularly well done and helped elevate several emotional scenes, while the cinematography, though not exceptional, was visually decent and fit the tone of the story.

Could not handle the voice overs

The acting was okay- knowing the production budget etc were limited, the acting isn't that bad.
Music- normal, nothing memorable.
Storyline- too bland..? The couples were showing interest in each other which was good to see, however the storyline did not feel complete. The general idea is vague, with the main couple having troubles, random hospital moments, sudden love confessions. The second couple did not get a clear ending, felt rushed, and although the actors did their best the story was not enough to get an overall good score.
It is watchable but I'm sure there are way more Chinese/Taiwanese bl that are better and have a more complete story line.

Good start to a drama that lost the pacing war

I had such high hopes for this drama. The first 3 three episodes were genuinely so intriguing and the cinematography was and honestly still is (they were consistent in at least that) stunning. The colouring was warm and nostalgic, the quiet closeup shots were visually pleasing and the overall scenery was actually nice!
I gotta say, this drama could've been so much more than what it ended up being. I thought I was in for an emotional ride with a genuinely captivating storyline and good pacing. Well, at least the first part was true, it was definitely emotional. Unfortunately the storyline that started so good with a sorta-enemies-definitely-strangers to lovers kind of trope set in the 2000s, which sounded like something that was right up my alley, got lost somewhere on the way as there were a ton of unnecessary fillers: the psycho classmate, a slice of family drama that didn't fully go into depth (nor did it actually get resolved?) and ten thousand side quests at university.
The characters that were actually the most memorable were Ouyang Han and Li Ming. They had good chemistry and were actually interesting characters and not as bland as the main couple.
While I appreciate that they really tried to give us a romantic 2000s gay love story, it just didn't give me the feels and was unnecessarily draggy. Also: the whole "I love you like a friend, I'm your bro" thing is OUT. Like, come on, Yu Lei, you didn't have to take THAT long to figure it out and get over yourself. I thought we finally moved on from that brotherly bond type of love. The last episode just felt like a mess, a futile effort of giving us a grand, dramatic finale while tying up all the loose strings and somehow it was anything but satisfying... *sigh* the premise was so good and the filming too, they just couldn't keep it that way.

Beautiful atmosphere, but emotionally too distant and slow paced for my personal taste.

I really wanted to connect with this drama because the atmosphere, cinematography and emotional tone were clearly handled with care. Unfortunately, even with only about 40 minutes left, I still felt emotionally distant from the story.

The biggest issue for me was the pacing. The drama leans heavily into mood, silence, longing and subtle emotional moments, but at some point it started to feel repetitive rather than immersive. I kept waiting for a stronger emotional payoff or a deeper pull into the characters’ inner worlds, and it never fully happened for me.

The chemistry is understated and the acting is decent, but the emotional connection felt more implied than deeply experienced. I can understand why viewers who enjoy very slow, atmospheric storytelling would appreciate this drama more than I did.

What surprised me most is the relatively high MDL score. Personally, I think this is one of those dramas where aesthetics and emotional “vibes” may resonate strongly with a certain audience, while others may struggle to stay engaged throughout the runtime.

That said, it is not a bad drama. It is visually gentle, melancholic and intentionally restrained. It simply did not manage to fully draw me in emotionally despite its clear artistic intentions.

Overall: Beautiful atmosphere, but emotionally too distant and slow-paced for my personal taste.

After finishing the last episode, my overall opinion honestly did not change much — if anything, the finale confirmed many of the issues I already had with the drama.

The ending felt overly familiar and emotionally too restrained to leave a strong impact on me. Instead of building toward a memorable payoff, the final episode leaned even further into the same slow, repetitive emotional atmosphere the series had relied on from the beginning.

Personally, I found parts of the finale unnecessary and dragged out. Without the second couple adding at least a bit of variety and emotional movement, I probably would have been even more disconnected during the last stretch.

I can understand why viewers who enjoy subtle, melancholic slice-of-life romance may appreciate the ending more than I did. But for me, the drama never fully transformed its beautiful atmosphere into a truly compelling emotional experience.

The cinematography and mood remained strong until the end — the emotional payoff unfortunately did not.

Breath of Fresh BL Drama And…

There are so many things I love about this BL show, but I'll name a few.

Just binge-watched six episodes, and one, I love the pacing, two, the story is just amazing, three, the boys can act, four, the chemistry is solid, five, no dramatic internalized homophobia or homophobic characters in this show yet (I say yet because there are still some episodes to go) and that's why I call this BL show a breath of fresh air. It indeed is.

While I do appreciate realistic BL shows, especially those set in the early 2000s, that show the truth of been young and queer during that era, with themes like internalized homophobia, passive or even active homophobic characters.

This show is quite unique in its portrayal of the characters as humans who don't see gender as a determining factor when it comes to falling in love. It clearly portrays the theme of “love is love” and it's interesting to watch it unfold.

Anyways, let me save the rest for later or maybe not? Cos if you've read this review up to this point, you better be convinced to start this show ASAP. You won't regret it.

I Felt A Lot!

This story covers familiar territory, but I still found it tantalizing. It captured me from the beginning to the end. It is mainly due to the mesmerizing impersonations from the actors and actresses, in particular the main protagonists. They kept the ‘slow-burn’ of their relationship just at the simmer stage with it never boiling over – until it was time for it to do so. I just loved the way they kept us entertained and engrossed until we were able to find out who they were. The build-up was such that we really did want to know about them. The overall splendor of this series is its consistency. It never wavered from its intent. Sure, it takes a long time for their relationship to develop but because these guys seem to make it feel fast, it was. And, given the time frame they were in, we understood their hesitancy. Slow-burn series will work if you have the right actors and a great screen chemistry and good dialogue. And this had all three. They were just on the cusp of developing a strong relationship when the series threw in a gut punch that I did not think it needed to. That is what diminished the impact of this series. A standard cliche twist, completely unnecessary.

I truly felt everything they were feeling; a kind of love that knows no bounds

A melodramatic yet heartfelt series that beautifully captures the nostalgic charm of youthful romance. Setting the story in the year 2000 added so much depth and nostalgia to their journey. The production quality was pleasant and visually appealing, while the soundtrack perfectly complemented the emotions of the show. The balance between lighthearted moments and emotional longing was executed beautifully. I especially loved how the series emphasized the significance of art and music.

The story begins with a one-sided enemies-to-lovers trope, paired with the playful cat-and-dog dynamic of the second couple, and I instantly saw its potential. Exactly my kind of romance. I appreciate the slow burn and the sincerity in the way the characters communicated their thoughts and feelings. Watching them felt calming and comforting.

There were so many adorable scenes throughout the show, but one of my favorites was the Christmas Eve scene with their first kiss beneath the falling snow. It gave me that nostalgic feeling of young love, especially the scenes where they waited by the phone just to hear each other’s voices, talking until past midnight. It felt so classic and timeless, like the perfect teenage romance.

When it comes to intimacy and chemistry, both couples delivered in very different ways while still portraying the right emotions for their characters. The main couple gave viewers butterflies with their soft, gentle affection and genuine care for one another. Meanwhile, the second couple brought more angst and tension, eventually finding comfort and strength in each other’s support. The main couple was sweet, the second couple was spicy.

I honestly underestimated He Jin’s twisted mindset. I never expected the antagonist to reach the point of attempted murder. I was hoping he would eventually reflect on his actions and receive some form of redemption, but instead, he remained the darkest presence in the story.

Overall, this series reminded me of the hope of meeting someone who will genuinely care for and prioritize me, just as Yu Lei and Ke Ke did for each other. Their love story was truly beautiful. My only minor criticism is that some scenes could have been paced better, as a few moments felt slightly rushed.

The gays are winning. Thank you for another quality BL series this year.
