Nour Episode 1 Reactions
Episode 1 literally throws us into a world where Nours exist and the police solve every single case by framing/blaming Nours (but are they *really* guilty?? 🤔). Plus, there's a 200yo guy looking for a way to die who's BOTH a cop and a forensic doctor working on all these cases.

ep 1 & i've got so many freakin questions; is this a world where everyone knows of the Nour's existence? & is there a Nour community?!? where some r good & other's r bad?!? is that how/why Ken can have a job & live as one of the humans, otherwise how can he have a job & live among humans as one of them, when he is over 200 yrs old?!? & if all Nour's r thought of as demons/vampire's - myths??? & r solitary beings, who informed Ken that there existed someone that could kill Nour's? *********
when Ken touches people, can he see their future? or only something connected to himself in their future? & as James also can read people - see their auras or something, is he a half Nour? what is he?? whatever he is guessing he is the one that can kill Nour's. also if i saved someone from offing themselves in a washing machine i wouldn't forget them no matter how long ago that was, so weird James hasn't connected the dots. ********************************************************************************
also the people being burnt to a crisp, as they r usually drained of blood, does this mean the Nour needs to survive & it either takes too much or after a couple of time biting it's prey - said prey starts to turn, so the Nour drains & burns them making sure they wont turn?!? also the flash back where James is going into the burning house, where his father is being chocked... the shadow - was that Ken?!? so many freakin questions.. ******************************************************************************
but one thing i noticed - Ken NEVER looks James in the eyes (he did in the last scene when he crawled all over him lol) but most of the ep, he never meets his eyes, which i find kinda weird - why?? when he was talking to the doctor, that wasn't the case - so why. ***********************************************************************************************************************************

regarding the "2nd" couple - i know everyone mooning over Dr Jirat - me not so much, there is just something about him that i don't like. when James pushed Chita he didn't make an issue out of it - not enough IMO & he for sure ignored the guys bullying Chita physically. he is doing the bear minimum, but cause of how badly Chita has been treated cause of his disability he thinks the bear minimum is the world, that's sad & annoying. cause Dr Jirat isn't worthy of being hero worshiped, cause he isn't a savior or a hero IMO. *****************************************************************************************************************

side note: i really like Phong - he is cute & the fact he got the ball as a cop, to ask for a bribe from a fellow officer is kinda hilarious. hope we see more of him. **************************************************************************************************
additional side note: took me a while to clock that "Ken" = Tongtong was Jet from The Wicked Game, he was my MVP in that BL (which wasn't very good IMO), but he made it fun to watch, he was the totally opposite from this cool, clam character here - so took me a while to connect him to the chaotic maniac from that BL lol.... am happy to see him again & starring in his own BL - much deserved.

The first question popping into my head after watching how many years Ken has tried to die was — couldn't he be killed the same way as the Highlanders, maybe? By beheading? I think it's hard to wake up after that, no? But considering his goal, this might have a sad ending. 🤔The dynamics between James and Ken are pretty fun to watch, and I want to see how long Ken will be able to hide from James that he's tied to his father's death... Drama is already brewing, I believe! 🫣 And how could he be so calm after fishing a man out of a washing machine? Is that a common thing in their country? (I know it's a fantasy, but still...) 😯And is Ken attempting to hitchhike to the afterlife with the people who die in fires? And was it really him everyone claims to have seen? 🤷♀️ I do love a good mystery! 😏🙂↕️Side note: I somehow had missed that this is a BL, so that caught me a little by surprise. But the chemistry between both male couples is very visible — that's what made me pause in the middle of the episode and check if there's a BL tag! 😅

Holy traumatic. So he just keeps killing himself over and over and not dying? We know i didn’t read the description but this feels tragic as fuck. HOW HAS IT BEEN 200 YEARS AND WE ARE STILL POOR? Right. Compression shirt where? 10 year age gap for our second couple. Okay one more episode and then I am going to bed because its 4 am, but I like this show, its pretty interesting. I do wnat more lore though. Okay bye!

The Arabic word Nour (นูร์) means “Light”or maybe in this case “ghost” an interesting title for a story that opens in such darkness. The show begins with an immortal who desperately wants to stop being immortal, immediately giving me Highlander vibes: dark, mysterious and enigmatic. The dynamic between the two male leads is antagonistic from the start, but we’re given little context as to why. So what exactly is the secret between them?They occupy very different roles. One is an immortal we last see apparently dying inside a washing machine, yes, a washing machine. (My nephew once climbed inside one himself, so scenes like this give relatives like me bad ideas about what kids might try) Five years later, he is somehow a doctor and police investigator.The other is what I can only describe as a Miami Vice Don Johnson-esque rogue police officer, the kind of cop who treats rules as suggestions when pursuing an investigation. They are polar opposites who eventually become one.And this is where my concern with the writing begins.I’m a stickler for flow, continuity and consistency. Withholding context can be an effective storytelling device, but it comes with a responsibility: the writers better have good answers. Confusion may be intentional, but the story must eventually connect the dots in a way that makes sense. “We did it for creative reasons” is not a substitute for common sense.The ending returns us to the washing machine and begins connecting those dots. So now the question is: where do we go from here?I’ve noticed this in quite a few Thai dramas: the creativity is there, but the research, continuity, editing or production discipline doesn’t always match the ambition. So far, however, NOUR is promising on the production side. The visuals are strong, the music is consistent, and the OST is spot on.As for the acting, it’s already clear who the seasoned performers are and who is still finding their footing.I also like that our two male leads didn’t come out of the usual “ship” machine. That makes the series feel fresher. There is no established fan-service dynamic distracting from the characters, and I hope the show continues developing their acting and creative skills rather than pandering to “shipping” culture.After one episode, I’m intrigued but watching carefully.You’ve created the mystery, NOUR. Now let’s see if you can solve it.

The Clash, and what an introduction! Ken and James could not be more different, with Ken being cold and serious while James is hot headed, playful and chaotic. Their constant clashes, bickering and obvious chemistry made them so entertaining to watch. At the same time, the mysterious deaths, supernatural elements and investigation immediately pulled me into the story. The episode gave us crime, mystery, comedy and tension all at once, and I was already completely hooked by the end.
