NOUR is especially made for me. It passed my standards as soon as I watched the teasers.

I'm so fascinated by Nour already, looking forward to the new releases every week.

August is proving to be a golden era for BL fans around the globe. Top-notch series are dropping one after another, It easily stands out among the flood of incredible new Thai and Japanese releases. This massive wave of content keeps screens packed with diverse storylines and exciting new actor pairings every single day, the newly paired actors like the couple in The Edge Of Horizon, Match Point, Love Destiny or This onee, Nour, it's their first time actually acting together as partners, still so premium acting.

Among this incredible lineup, the newly released series Nour stands out for its highly creative premise. The series has a high-quality production, stunning visual effects, and a unique, creative concept. Moving away from typical vampire tropes, it introduces an entirely new, imaginary immortal entity called a "Nour."

A High-Quality Cinematic Experience ::

The initial pilot and teasers for Nour set an exceptionally high bar for me and the fandom.
The first two episodes have completely blown past those expectations of mine. The show boasts Hollywood-level visual effects that look incredibly realistic on screen. Combined with stunning production design and beautiful settings, the series delivers a premium cinematic experience that kept me completely glued to the screen.

Fresh Casting and Unmatched Screen Presence :::

The casting choices bring an entirely fresh, magnetic energy to this supernatural thriller. Boss Patthakarn delivers a flawless performance for his first-ever BL role. He acts with the absolute confidence and depth of a seasoned veteran. Standing right alongside him is Tongtong Kitsakorn, who finally steps into a well-deserved main lead role. Both actors carry a gorgeous screen presence that naturally elevates the gravity of every single scene.

Redemption for Tongtong Kitsakorn :::

He previously stole hearts as Jet in The Wicked Game, honestly I deeply shipped him with his bodyguard Phum, played by Inn Jakkrasin. That storyline ended in heartbreak when Phum tragically died, leaving their mutual feelings unresolved.
While Inn Jakkrasin moved on to play Phob in The Edge Of Horizon, I'm extremely thrilled to finally see Tongtong as a powerful main lead here.

A Crime Investigation in Krung Thep Mahanakorn -At its core, the drama hooked me with an intense and dark crime mystery set in Krung Thep, Thailand.
A brilliant and exceptionally brave detective, Inspector James, is brought in as a wildcard entry to solve a horrific string of serial killings. The victims are left in completely inhuman conditions. This makes the local population terrified that a supernatural force is walking among them.
*Inspector James possesses the ability to see the "colors" of people's souls. Whenever someone is lying or is an evil person, James sees them as red.
*The ultimate irony of the show is that his partner, Captain Ken (played by Tongtong Kitsakorn), is colorblind and cannot see the color red—the exact color that exposes lies.

The Ultimate Supernatural Irony :::

While the incompetent local authorities try to pin the blame on innocent bystanders, the suspects all share an identical, chilling detail. They insist they saw a mysterious, blue-eyed creature known as a Nour.
A Nour is an immortal entity that survives by sucking human and can strike them anywhere at any time.
James is partnered with the cold, brilliant Dr. Ken, an inspector who uniquely doubles as a medical examiner.
The ultimate irony, which I'm already privy to, is that Dr. Ken is actually a centuries-old Nour himself.
He has spent lifetimes trying and failing to end his own immortal life.
While he is a supernatural creature, the unfolding evidence suggests a different, rogue Nour who escaped the police is the true mastermind behind the murders maybe, but we can't trust just our six senses, we needa go along with the flow and discover the truth behind those brutal murders.

High-Voltage Chemistry and Bickering Romance ::

The dynamic between James and Ken perfectly blends a thrilling investigation with an addictive enemies-to-lovers romance. The two share a delightful, chaotic bickering relationship that slowly boils over into intense, high-voltage chemistry.

The ending kiss scene of the 2nd episode delivered pure goosebumps.
Preceded by a spine-chilling moment where Ken licked his finger, the raw and passionate kiss, basically they just hooked their mouths not every couple do thatt, it looked professional. The close up in the 3rd episode makes it look much better..
James's reaction after the kiss, gave me chills I don't know why. Ken was craving for blood reminded me of vampires, they are quite similar The Nours and The Vampires.

The 3rd episode's Dr. Ken didn't even try to avoid, interested kissed back, damn, now they're annoyed that the phone was ringing I understand it was disturbing them, how hilarious -You are the one who set the boundaries and you're the one who crossed itt first. They have such an intense chemistry, I can't believe it. They're going crazy especially James.

We're getting many plot twists till the end of an episode, every episode, The other Nour Tee was already dead, and now I think James is gonna get sus about Ken's actual identity, that is already known to us. I wanna see through James's reaction when he acquires the truth, that he's working with the creature he hates the most..
There are too many Nours in here. I thought Ken was the only one.

The Sweet Contrast of the Second Couple :::
This intense supernatural heat is perfectly balanced by the second couple, Kirat and Chita.
While they didn't stand out much in the initial teasers, their execution in the first two episodes has excited me to continue watching them.
They serve as a sweet, comforting, and gentle contrast to the chaotic main couple. But the main stands in the front for sure.
Their relationship brings a softer, highly addictive romantic arc to the series.

Kirat and Chita display seamless coordination and a deep mutual understanding that makes them incredibly captivating. The affectionate, lingering glances they share make it clear that they are already falling hard for each other, especially Chita.
Chita can't resist and kissed, I understand him, he fell too hard, for the only brightness in his lifee. Who could resist that much closeness, I realised something was going to happen..

Toey Pongsakorn, who previously flew under the radar in Top Form—this duo provides a comforting romantic. How come I never noticed him in Top Form, my badd. Chita's down badd, the both of them have such a great relationship. Kirat is finally not avoiding the feelings he's having, it's all a thanks to James..

With a perfect mix of thriller, investigation, supernatural mystery, and incredible romance, Nour easily surpasses every standard for a top-notch drama. It guarantees something thrilling to look forward to every week!

This series is sooo good! I can honestly recommend it to everyone. It’s something really fresh and different, and the acting is absolutely amazing. Even their chemistry is on point! 🥹❤️

The storyline is so well written that I didn’t even want to skip a single second. Honestly, it’s so sad that only a few people have watched it. I really hope it becomes more famous because it deserves SO much more attention! 😭✨
I’ve always wanted to watch a BL that has some fantasy elements but is still serious and emotional, and this one is honestly perfect for that!

Everything I Love in One BL: Crime, Forensics, Mystery, Romance and Two Gorgeous Couples

Police, crime, forensic investigation and mystery are some of my favourite genres, so this series was already right up my alley. Even better, it is a BL from the director of Top Form, one of my favourite BLs from last year. Naturally, my expectations were already pretty high after watching all three trailers, but after five episodes, I can confidently say this series has not disappointed me at all.

This series started with a huge bang and immediately felt so different and unique. I absolutely love the concept of how many times someone can die and the different attempts throughout history, from the AD era all the way to modern times. Watching these different deaths unfold across different periods was such an interesting way to introduce the story, and it instantly pulled me in.

Two Main Couples, Two Different Energies
One thing I am especially happy about is that we finally have two proper main couples, rather than one main couple and a supporting couple. Both couples already feel like they are going to play an important role in the overall story, with the themes of Revenge, Death, Truth and Love connecting everything together. That makes the series even more exciting for me because I genuinely feel like both relationships will matter to the plot.

First Couple: Chaos and Chemistry
This is my third time watching Tongtong, who plays Inspector Ken. I previously saw him in To Sir, With Love and The Wicked Game, where he had supporting roles, so I am genuinely happy to finally see him take on his first main BL role. Inspector Ken is cold, distant and emotionally closed off. He has lived through so many different generations and has tried to die hundreds of times, yet somehow he continues to exist. There is such a sadness surrounding his character because it feels like he has been trapped in this endless darkness for so long. I really believe James is going to become the light at the end of his endless tunnel.

James Is Already My Favourite
Boss, who plays Police Officer and Inspector James, is also making his series debut from what I can tell. James is tall, attractive and a hot blooded young officer with such a funny and energetic personality. He is honestly so much fun to watch and has already become my favourite character. He brings such a fun and lively energy to the series, with his comedy adding some much needed lightness to what could otherwise be a very dark and heavy story. I also love his supernatural ability to read people's minds and determine whether someone is lying. His ability to read people's minds and determine whether they are lying is such a cool power for a police officer, especially during interrogations.

Rivals to Lovers Done Right
Their chemistry already feels so fresh and natural. I love how they constantly clash, annoy each other and seem to hate being around one another. Their relationship has this constant tension that makes every scene between them so entertaining.
And the fact that they literally put red tape down the middle of their office to divide the space so they can stay away from each other? I CAN'T WITH THESE TWO. 😂
Their eye contact in the car and in the classroom was already so intense and thrilling. I am absolutely here for the rivals to lovers storyline.
And we already got our kisses!
It was explosive.
I cannot wait to see how their relationship develops from here.

Second Couple: Sweet and Tender
Moving on to our second couple, they are completely different from Ken and James. Their relationship feels much sweeter, softer and more caring, which gives us a really nice contrast between the two couples.
This is also my second time seeing Toey, who plays forensic pathologist Dr Jirat. I previously watched him in Top Form, where he had a supporting role, and I have always wanted to see him get a bigger part. I am so glad he finally got his chance here.
He is paired with Phoom as Chita, Jirat's medical assistant, and together they make another beautiful pairing. I am really interested to see how their relationship develops because while Ken and James bring tension and chaos, Jirat and Chita seem to bring warmth and tenderness.
Both couples also have incredible visuals. They look absolutely stunning together, and honestly, the casting is one of the biggest highlights for me. Everyone fits their roles so well, especially with the darker atmosphere and tone of the story.

Crime, Forensics and Supernatural Mystery
The story combines police investigation, forensic medical examination, crime, mystery and supernatural elements, with a series of mysterious arsons gradually uncovering secrets that have been hidden for years.
As James investigates the strange incidents alongside Inspector Ken, the case becomes far more complicated than it initially appears. Meanwhile, Medical Examiner Jirat and his assistant Chita follow their own clues and begin uncovering connections between the victims and the strange events surrounding the fires.
What I really enjoy is how the investigation slowly brings everything together while also introducing this supernatural mystery involving secrets from the past. There is a great balance between crime investigation, forensic work, romance and supernatural suspense, which gives the series a much darker and more intriguing atmosphere.

The Production, Dark, Cinematic and Beautiful
I also absolutely love the overall presentation. The intense music, suspenseful investigation scenes, dark atmosphere, stunning cinematography and gorgeous cast all work together so well.
Everything feels polished and cinematic. The series manages to feel thrilling and mysterious while still giving us the romance, chemistry and character moments we expect from a BL.

And can we talk about episode 5?
Not only was their NC scene hot, intense and thrilling, but the moment James could see Ken’s colour while they were intimate and Ken covered his eyes and continued completely got me. That was insanely hot and such a unique touch. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an NC scene quite like that before. Probably one of the best NC scenes I’ve seen.
But what made the scene even better was that it wasn’t only about the physical intimacy. Their words to each other made it so much more emotional.

James asked, “Then do you love me?”

Ken replied, “Of course I do.”

Then James told him that if he loved him, he couldn’t send him away again. He loved Ken too and didn’t want to leave him. Even knowing Ken is a Nour who never dies, James still wants to stay by his side for as long as he possibly can.
That really got me. Underneath all the heat and passion, this scene was ultimately about James choosing Ken despite knowing exactly what he is and knowing that their time together can never truly be equal. He just wants whatever time they can have together. So beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.

Minor Issue: AI
My only minor criticism is the use of AI in a few scenes. I later noticed the disclaimer at the beginning of the episode saying, “During the production process, AI technology was used in certain scenes to support on set safety.”
You can definitely notice it in a few moments, but honestly, it was used so little that it barely bothered me. I would rather have a show with a small amount of barely noticeable AI than not have the show at all. At the end of the day, the plot, chemistry, acting and overall production are much more important to me, and this series delivers on all of those. The AI use was so minimal that it really did not take away from my enjoyment of the show.

This is shaping up to be one of my favourite crime and police investigation BLs of the year. If you enjoy mystery, crime, police investigations, forensic medical examiners, supernatural elements, gay romance and darker BL stories, this is definitely one you should check out.

So far, this series is a standout for me. I am completely hooked and cannot wait to see where the mystery, the investigations and both relationships take us.

What a masterpiece

This series keeps me on the edge of my seat! Every episode gives me a new theory, and I never know what to expect next it just keeps getting better and better. In this episode, what if Chita is actually a Nour, or even the Nour they’ve been looking for? The facts are already on the table: his body rejected Jirat’s mom’s food, he’s always moving around, and he literally felt Prae’s presence. Maybe he knows how to mask his appearance and even his colorfrom James. Ken’s backstory with his friend is so sad. Him crying during that dance scene was heartbreaking because, after losing his friend, James was the only human he’d been in contact with for a decade. James healed a part of him that he didn’t even break. As for Jirat’s brother, he kissed his friend, called it a mistake, and then immediately started talking about his friend’s future kids and wedding. Like, why? I get Panin’s concern, but what about his friend’s feelings? And Prae I need to know her truth! It seems like she’s not the Nour who can kill another Nour, nor is she the main villain, especially since we see her so much. I have so many theories. This series is driving me crazy, and I love it! 😆😍

BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS!!

Nour does not owe me a single thing! They dont make BLs like this no more, the acting, cinematography, editing, sound tracks, camera angles, and everything else i didnt mention, 10 OUT OF 10!! I love how the actors were not afraid of getting ugly while acting (meaning showing raw emotions). The details in the series are exceptional, everything is well executed! But i am not surprised this was directed by Boss Wasa, the director of Top Form. I literally cried while watching ep 5 because of how well everything was acted out.

Wait till Ep 3, the romance kicks in and the loophole-ey script gets a tad better

The first two episodes wre very disappointing, Tongtong notwithstanding, so I had decided to drop the drama....but Ep 3 changed my mind....the romance starts to grow on you Ep 3 onward and makes the loopholey script seem a tad more bearable.and then..sigh. there's Tongtong.....But I still stand by my original review below from the first two episodes. Will change this if it goes on to become reasonably better in the next few episodes...for now, I'll continue to watch this, hoping it will improve..that 6.5 score is just for Tongtong, otherwise it will be even lower... :/

The drama is novel in its crime thriller-horror-supernatural elements, but the good part ends there......I had waited to see Tongtong as a BL-drama lead ever since his act as the super handsome, uber-supportive bro in Khun Chai (To Sir, With Love), and was very pumped about this show.....but as I sat through the first 2 episodes of Nour, what a disappointment it was...

The script till Ep 2 is plain half-hearted with zero homework done on how real world scenarios would look like for a crime thriller....for example, how police interrogations would actually look like (instead of one investigating officer borderline trying to mock-flirt another in front of the suspect), how an investigating officer who is stringent about doing it alone (Ken) is expected to behave-handle the evidence he gathered (instead of keeping it neatly stacked on his office table that is) and the kind of thorough knowledge and understanding Ken is expected to have about humans and their evolving technology for someone who had lived through 200 years without dying (instead of not knowing how to use a smartphone, he did not time travel, you dodos) ...sigh.... the list is endless....and even though I sat through all of the two episodes 45 minutes length to find a saving grace for this Tongtong starer that I had so waited for, I could find none....

I just wish Tongtong lands a lead role in a BL-drama with a more thought-through script in the coming days :((

Hoping for a Happy Ending for Them ❤️

I’m really loving this drama so far! I especially enjoy the fantasy aspect of the story, which makes it feel different and really interesting to watch. The story keeps me curious, and I love discovering more about the characters and their world with each episode.

The chemistry between Boss and TongTong is also one of my favorite parts of the drama. They have such a natural dynamic together, and I really enjoy watching their characters’ relationship develop. Their scenes together are always a highlight for me.

I really hope the ending will be as good as the rest of the drama. More than anything, I hope that the story of their characters will have a beautiful ending and that they will be able to live happily together in the end. After everything they have been through, I really want them to get the happiness they deserve. ❤️

"Life is Shorter Than We Think..."

.... which might exactly be why I suggest that you check out this drama.

With a rather unconventional storyline that's not in vogue and mature characters, Nour is unsuspectingly addictive, both with it's cleverly written mystery that is irreversibly linked with its romantic aspects.

And deeply melancholic.

The very basement of the drama lies on a string of murders and arsons executed by a meticulous perpetrator who incinerates even the breathe of his existence off the planet. This said perpetrator also happens to have the incredible power to kill off a 'Nour' - an eternal being that cannot be killed.
And the investigators involved have two different purposes: one of them is a victim who seeks justice for his father while the other is a 200 - year- old Nour who seeks him to discover the secret to killing himself.

☆ While the mystery serves as the basement, the underlying tone of Nour is rather depressing. It's ironic that the Nour is essentially a being created out of love - Someone loved you deeply enough to gift you an eternity of joy and companionship.
Yet, Ken actively seeks death. To him, immortality serves no purpose. He couldn't die even if he wished to and he has closed off his emotions for centuries.

While humans attempt to cherish the time given to them, he sought death whilst never really living his life. "What was the purpose of existing for an eternity if you haven't really lived it?" -- a character whose life was cut short by a diagnosis asks this to him. I don't know why, but it struck a cord in me.

In contrast to him exists James, who lives with carpe diem as his motto. One had been alive far too long and yearns for death, while the others have their life cut short or cherishes their transient time on this planet.

☆ The mystery is well written. And cleverly directed. Viewers are not provided with a preview and even seemingly unassuming characters are having allegations hurled at them. It's absolutely hilarious to watch this while airing because almost every single possibility is out there once we dig in.

☆ The story is buoyed by an ensemble cast and a director who made sure that his vision was somehow conveyed to the audience. Be it a gripping mystery or a rushed, yet worthy romance that forces Ken to question himself.
The cast is a mix of veterans and fresh faces who deliver equally thrilling performances and I never once felt that this was created by a team of relatively novel crew.

☆ The writing itself might be off putting to some. But, kudos to the team because the pace is perfectly balanced; they knew that having to cover the grounds for at least a dozen characters was not going to go well if we had actual intelligent and shrewd ones.

Instead, we have a wacko Inspector James introduced to rival the enigmatic and terse Inspector Ken. His impulsive actions and energy impacts everyone at the lazy station. And the cases come to a close because of him. And half the plot moves forward because of him. (It worked for me anyways.)

☆And inspite of being completely immersed in its lore, I'm beyond annoyed. Because the worst case scenario applies to every single character, whether I like it or not.

But, I'm in too deep to extricate myself and this drama has become my companion amidst my University examinations. So, it's definitely a memory that's not meant to be forgotten, whatever the outcome.
