These movies I've picked are still fresh in my memory. There are a lot, but let me start with these. Each one of them are unique for me. I hope you get through this weekend with these marvelous movies.

11th Mom

Country: South Korea    Year: 2007     Genre: Family, Melodrama

Synopsis: Jae Su leads a cruel life for an 11-year-old. His father is an abusive, gambling, jobless wreck of a guy, so the little boy has learned to survive on his own, cooking or carefully spending his food stamps while running a string of part-time jobs.

One day, his father shows up with a woman. Apparently used to the comings and goings of such transient mother figures ― this one being the 11th as the title suggests ― Jae Su calls her "mom" without wincing.

Need a good cry out? This movie will help you with that. You'll get into pitying the boy. Not only that, you'll feel anger toward the father as well. You can really feel the anger and pressure the characters are experiencing. Top actors play in this movie indeed.

The story is heartwarming, perfect for the cold weather. Perhaps have a hot chocolate with it.

Fish Story

Country: Japan     Year: 2009     Genre: Life, Music

Synopsis: A band calling themselves "Fish Story" because of a translated book, a guy who's afraid to stand up for himself, a girl involved with a hijacked cruise. What do they have in common? Watch to figure it out.

When you read this, you'll think the movie centers only around music. You'd be wrong. Something else had an impact on their lives. And when you watch from the beginning until the very end, you'll discover twists in the movie you may not have paid much attention to.

You'll get to hear some good 70's music and through the movie you'll see how it flows from the one generation to the next. And even back and forth.

Watch it and judge for yourself.

GS Wonderland

Country: Japan     Year: 2008     Genre: Music, Friendship, Comedy

Synopsis: A humorous movie set in the 1960's. A group starts a pop band called "GS Wonderland." They do everything it takes to keep playing in this band, even when it means they have to wear tights or allow a girl to join. Then sudden change arrives for all of the members...

Yes, another movie about music in the 60's to 70's. But you've got to love it, right? Anyway, the humor in this movie is very great. I know, everyone has their own taste, but I like how some scenes are put together and makes it so enjoyable to watch.

You'll get good laughs throughout the movie. It'll also make you wonder how you would have lived in that era.
