Korean Dramas Not To Miss in 2016
It's time to create a havoc. Yeah, because this article is gonna bring up a different opinion about some dramas with high ratings, lots of awards, and popularity that I personally didn't enjoy.
The reason behind this article: I'm someone who hates hiding my unpopular opinion just because the majority think the opposite. And since I've been on MDL, I disliked lots of dramas that the rest love. So when I comment about my negative opinion on a drama, I'd see lots of people agreeing but for some reasons, they were most likely 'afraid ' of stating their opinion.
So if you are gonna pick a fight below, don't read this article. Unless you're an open-minded fella. ;)
Here we go:
1- You Who Came from the Stars
Yes, it's a drama that the world talked about. Popular in many countries. Won tons of awards. YET I CANT UNDERSTAND WHY.
The story? Nothing new, nothing interesting. The plot was boring. I didn't understand what kept people entertained.
So I decided to look at the romance part, maybe it's magical enough to keep me on the watching track...
Best couple awards? I was frustrated. What romance made it win this award? The boring romance? I'm a huge romance genre fan and I don't watch shows with no romance. So I specially didn't get what made them deserve this award. Yes, they're both great actors but their romance was nothing good. Might be funny but not even close to Secret, Queen In Hyun's Man, nor Kill me, Heal me.
The characters? Kim Soo Hyun was a silent robot. While Jeon Ji Hyeon was a nonsense blabbering woman. Yet, Im a fan of their acting skills. And I've finished watching this drama for that case.
2- The Master's Sun
One more yes. A very highly rated drama on MDL, yet I dropped it with no regrets. The plot was kinda interesting at first. But then it drafted to ...'I dunno why to watch this anymore'. It had a story but the direction it was going was just wrong. I wanted to relate to it, find a reason that made people love this drama. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to and I ended up dropping it. On the other side when I watched Oh My Ghost. I did understand why such a story can be interesting.
3- Reply 1997
For the third time, Y-E-S. This is a drama I disliked while most people loved. And I don't just mean 1997, but the whole pack. Is there a story in this drama? Na-ah. Students attending school, nothing happens, they go back and forth between their life now and in the past. No events but a regular filming of any student life growing up. People say you learn something from this drama, yes you might have. Yet, you learn tons like that and more from dramas likeAngry Mom, Who Are You: School 2015, and more that got a strong story behind it.
Wow, I probably pissed lots of fans lol. But in case you agree with me, or if there are other dramas that you hated when the rest loved, comment below, I will surely understand.
