The Artist Company officially announced Esom's status on joining the upcoming second season of "Taxi Driver." 

On March 8th several media outlets reported that Esom will not be joining "Taxi Driver 2." According to the reports, the actress decided to step down from the drama due to her scheduling issues. 

Esom's agency Artist Company confirmed the reports and stated that the actress will not appear in the second season due to schedule conflicts. They also shared that they have discussed it with the production but officially came to the conclusion that it will be hard for Esom to appear on the second season of the hit SBS drama. 

The actress was one of the main leads of the first season. She played the role of Kang Ha Na, a prosecutor at the  Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office. 

"Taxi Driver" is one of the hit series of SBS in 2021. The series revolves around the services offered by Rainbow Taxi Company and driver Kim Do Gi to victims who cannot get justice from the law. The first season was directed by Park Joon Woo and written by Oh Sang Ho and Lee Ji Hyun.

The first season was led by Lee Je Hoon, Esom, Kim Eui Sung, Pyo Ye Ji, Cha Ji Yeon, Bae Yoo Ram, and Jang Hyuk Jin. For "Taxi Driver 2," there is still no confirmed news whether all the casts except Esom will participate in the drama again. 

"Taxi Driver 2" aims to premiere in the second half of 2022. 

Esom's schedule is already packed for this year. She will be starring in the upcoming Netflix original series titled "Black Knight" with Kim Woo Bin and Song Seung Heon. The actress will also return to the big screen with upcoming movies "Starlight is Falling," "Single in Seoul," and "Kill Bok Soon."
