Jang So Yeon is confirmed to star alongside Wi Ha Joon and Jung Ryeo Won in a new K-drama
Cho Yeo Jung will reportedly make a grand comeback to the historical genre.
On February 28, media outlets reported that Cho Yeo Jung has been picked to lead the upcoming MBC historical K-drama titled The Scent of Plum Flower (working title).
Cho Yeo Jung's side hasn't given their response about the casting reports.
If Cho Yeo Jung confirms her casting, this will be her grand return to MBC as well as to the historical genre. Cho Yeo Jung was last seen on MBC K-drama in 2006. This will also possibly be Cho Yeo Jung's return to historical K-dramas after almost 12 years.
She is also expected to lead the upcoming K-drama Tarot with Park Ha Sun, DEX, Go Gyu Pil, Seo Ji Hoon, and Lee Joo Bin. She will also star in the upcoming films Interview and The Hidden Face.
Cho Yeo Jung is known for starring in the works Cheat On Me, if You Can, Woman of 9.9 Billion, Beautiful World, Parasite, and more.
The Scent of Plum Flower will base its story on the novel of the same name. It will tell the story of a court lady who is the royal family's closest aide. She is the most knowledgeable about the first-class information around the palace. The K-drama will showcase the story of the queen maker of Joseon.
Cho Yeo Jung got the offer to portray the character named Park Mi Ryeong. She is working as a herbalist after giving birth to a child who has no idea who his father is. She wants to have both love and power after she becomes a concubine.
There are no other reports yet on which actor will join Cho Yeo Jung in the upcoming K-drama.
The Scent of Plum Flower will exclusively air on MBC.
