An Ultra Fan's Guide To: Urassaya Sperbund (Yaya)
I haven't written an article for so long (OK, maybe not that long) but my love for this drama just wouldn't let me not write an article about it, so here I am. This is not going to be a proper article as much as it is going to be me fangirling and gushing about how much I absolutely adore Nam Shin III...err, I mean this drama. But I sincerely hope that instead of being put off by it, all other fans of this drama will agree with me and all those who aren't watching this yet would give it a chance!
THE PLOT
I don't think I actually need to give the synopsis, since it's all here on the MDL page.
I'm actually one of the people who enjoyed this drama right from the start. I found the pilot intriguing, and it had me hooked. Talking about the overall pacing of the drama, it is really good. This is actually one of those dramas that gets better with each episode. The writing is really enjoyable so far.
THE CHARACTERS
NAM SHIN & NAM SHIN III (Seo Kang Joon)
Boy, oh boy, do I love the male lead here. And just in case there is any confusion, I'm talking about Nam Shin III. Who knew a robot could be this adorable!
Even if you come to not like this drama, I can guarantee that you will come to love Nam Shin III regardless. And if you don't, you might just be a robot yourself (JK!) In all seriousness though, it's almost impossible to resist his charms. Nam Shin III is so, so precious, I just want to wrap him in my arms and protect him from all the horrible people surrounding him. But I guess Kang So Bong can do that too...
Do we have to talk about (human) Nam Shin too? Ugh. Can't we just ignore his existence in the drama? No? Alright. Human Nam Shin is bratty spoiled man, who believes that everyone is somehow indebted to him. He thinks he is entitled to everything he wants. He wants people to feel the way he wants them to feel. Yeah, I'm not that fond of the guy.
But let's not focus on him anymore, and instead look at our baby Nam Shin III. His smile is just so pure.
KANG SO BONG (Gong Seung Yeon)
Ok, so honestly speaking, Kang So Bong is not one of the best female leads out there. But that's not to say that she is one of the worst ones, either. Sure, her character is a bit annoying in the first few episodes. But later on, she mellows out. Plus I can appreciate her on the fact alone that she cares so deeply about Nam Shin III.
THE SIDE CHARACTERS
Seo Jong Gil (Yoo Oh Sung)
The main 'bad guy' in the drama. He wants the company for himself and will do anything for that.
Ji Young Hoon (Lee Joon Hyuk)
He's Nam Shin's secretary and the only person who's close to him. He always wants what's the best for Shin. Even though every time Shin makes trouble (and he always does that) Young Joon's the one who gets punished.
Oh Laura (Kim Sung Ryung)
Mother of Nam Shin and a world renowned AI scientist. When, due to circumstances, she gets separated from her son, she builds an AI robot who looks exactly the same as him.
She's going to be the character you'll hate. She deserves the worst mother of the year award. Although maybe not after ep 23-24 where she shows us that she has a human side too.
Nam Gun Ho (Park Young Kyoo)
Grandfather of Nam Shin, he plays a negative character. He wants things to go his way only.
Seo Ye Na (Park Hwan Hee)
Seo Ye Na is Nam Shin's fiancé. One he doesn't want. But she loves him, always ready to do anything and everything for him.

THE OTP
(Because that's what matters the most)
The OTP is cute. Their relationship starts out rocky, since Kang So Bong has ulterior motives behind her decision to be Nam Shin (III)'s bodyguard, but it's so adorable to see him interact with her. At first, she is thrown off by his behaviour which is very unlike the Nam Shin she knew. Soon, she finds herself falling for him. Nam Shin III follows her around everywhere like the adorable puppy he is. And I love how dedicated she is towards him. Like in ep 23-24, the second she realised it was human Nam Shin in the rehearsal, she immediately ran off to find him.
I do think, in the OTP, I'm more partial towards Nam Shin III (can't you just tell by now?) but I do enjoy the OTP screentime very much.
