Girls Generation's Choi Soo Young and Gong Myung will reportedly work together in a new K-drama.
On August 20, media outlets reported that Choi Soo Young and Gong Myung had been picked to lead the K-drama A Very Common Sense Alcoholic (literal title).
A Very Common Sense Alcoholic will tell the story of a woman who grew up in a family full of alcoholics and a successful doctor who went to a rural village to work at Bocheon Health Center.
The upcoming K-drama will be the collaboration work of director Jang Yoo Jung (Honest Candidate and The Bros) and writers Myung Soo Hyun (Monthly Magazine Home) and Jeon Ji Hyun.
According to reports, the production team is currently busy with the casting and after it is finalized, the filming will officially begin. Reports also revealed that the K-drama will possibly be aired on tvN.
Choi Soo Young got the offer to play the role of Han Geum Joo. She works as a mechanic in a big company and she is passionate about automobiles. She is known as the woman who drinks better than men as she grew up in an alcoholic family.
If Choi Soo Young confirms her casting, Gong Myung will be her next 5urprise member to be partnered with.
Choi Soo Young was last seen in the 2023 K-drama Not Others with Jeon Hye Jin, Ahn Jae Wook, Park Sung Hoon, Kim Hye Eun, and Seo Ye Hwa.
Gong Myung on the other hand will portray the role of Seo Eui Joon. He is a successful doctor who will go to a rural village and work at Bocheon Health Center. He is known as a specialist in a huge university hospital in Seoul. He spreads awareness that alcohol can ruin life and there, he will get entangled with Han Geum Joo.
Meanwhile, this will possibly be the third upcoming K-drama of Gong Myung. He is also expected to star in the new series A Week before I Die and Mercy for None.
Lovers of the Red Sky was the last K-drama of Gong Myung before he started his military duties. The actor was discharged in 2023 and he is preparing to return with different genres of work.
