Lee Joong Ok joins Park Shin Hye and Kim Jae Young in a new crime romance K-drama
GOT7's Jinyoung confirmed to join the cast of the upcoming tvN drama "Yumi's Cells."
It was confirmed on July 22nd that GOT7's Jinyoung will be added to the cast of "Yumi's Cells." He will be joining Kim Go Eun, Ahn Bo Hyun, Lee Yoo Bi, and Park Ji Hyun.
Jinyoung will bring life to the character of Yoo Ba Bi, the perfect and handsome co-worker of Yumi. He's the most popular in the company with his perfect looks and great personality. He will also have a special relationship with Yumi.
"Yumi's Cells" will be the new project of director Lee Sang Yeob ( "A Piece of Your Mind” and "Familiar Wife”). Three writers will be working together on the script of the drama, namely “Memories of the Alhambra” writer Song Jae Jung, “Find Me in Your Memory” writer Kim Yoon Joo, and rookie writer Kim Kyung Ran.
The upcoming romantic comedy series "Yumi's Cells" will base their story from the popular webtoon of the same name authored by Lee Dong Gun. It will revolve around Yumi's life as an ordinary office worker. Yumi's cells within her brain designate her everyday emotions like love, rationality, violence, and more. The tiny cells in her brain do the work for her.
Kim Go Eun is set to play the lead role of Yumi. Other cast have previously confirmed their casting namely Ahn Bo Hyun, who will portray the character of Ku Woong, Lee Yoo Bi as Ruby, and Park Ji Hyun as Seo Sae Yi. SHINee's Choi Min Ho is also confirmed to have a special participation in the drama as Woo Gi.
"Yumi's Cells" will reportedly air during the second half of the year. It will be available on tvN and TVING. Reports also stated that the drama will have multiple seasons.
Jinyoung is currently busy pursuing his acting career. After his contract expired with JYP Entertainment, the actor has been working nonstop on several acting projects. He is currently signed under BH Entertainment.
The idol actor is currently starring in the ongoing drama "The Devil Judge" together with Ji Sung and Kim Min Jung. After he finishes the filming for the drama, he will directly shoot the upcoming film "High Five." Jinyoung will also join the upcoming movie "The Angel Without, The Devil Within."
