"Queen of Tears" Park Sung Hoon: "Poverty and a sense of inferiority became the driving force"
The upcoming movie Unofficial Operation has unveiled five attention-grabbing stills featuring Ha Jung Woo and Joo Ji Hoon.
Directed by Kim Sung Hoon and inspired by true events, Unofficial Operation tells the story of diplomat Min Joon (Ha Jung Woo) and taxi driver Pan Su (Joo Ji Hoon), who team up to rescue a missing diplomat in Lebanon.
From the moment he sets foot in Lebanon, Min Joon is chased by airport security guards. He asks for Pan Su's assistance, who, though reluctant to get entangled in risky situations, gets tempted by the enticing fare offered by Min Joon (Ha Jung Woo) and joins the unofficial operation.
Together, they must overcome unforeseen challenges to rescue the kidnapped diplomat. The stills offer glimpses of Min Joon and Pan Su's dangerous journey and their adventures, such as their high-speed car chase through maze-like streets, the use of firearms in life-or-death situations, and the combat skills they employ to fight their opponents. The dynamic action displayed in the stills raises anticipation and heightens expectations for what awaits in Unofficial Operation.
Director Kim Sung Hoon said that he aimed to create action sequences that are rooted in tension and occasionally infused with humor.
Furthermore, he emphasizes that the action in the film is tailored to each character's personality, story, and emotions, pushing them to their limits.
Ha Jung Woo stated, "Since Min Joon is not a special agent but an ordinary office worker in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I focused on expressing him in a way that suits his character". Joo Ji Hoon shared, "I felt grateful that Director Kim Sung Hoon and actor Ha Jung Woo placed complete trust in me at every moment".
Action director Noh Nam Seok commented, "To ensure safety and completeness, we thoroughly simulated all action scenes in advance and conducted pre-training for about a month in Morocco with local actors and stunt teams for car chases, wire and gun action, including drifts".
