Han Hyo Joo and Oguri Shun will possibly team up for a new romantic comedy drama produced by Netflix.
On March 13, media outlets shared that Korean actress Han Hyo Joo and Japanese actor Oguri Shin will lead the upcoming Netflix original series titled Romantic Anonymous.
Han Hyo Joo's side responded to the casting reports. According to BH Entertainment, "Han Hyo Joo is confirmed to star in the new series. She already participated in the beginning of the filming early this month."
Romantic Anonymous will tell the romance story of a talented yet socially anxious chocolatier who works at a small chocolate store. The story will be based on the 2010 French movie of the same name directed by Jean-Pierre Ameris.
The upcoming Netflix original drama will be helmed by director Tsukikawa Sho who also directed the film I Want to Eat Your Pancreas which became popular in Korea.
Han Hyo Joo will portray the role of a talented chocolatier who suffers from social anxiety. Oguri Shun on the other hand will portray the role of the chocolate store owner who is also socially anxious.
There is no confirmation yet on the official release date of Romantic Anonymous. The series will be released on Netflix globally.
This is not the first time that Han Hyo Joo has appeared in a Korea-Japan project. She also starred in Postman to Heaven, The Sun Does Not Move, and more.
Before she stars in Romantic Anonymous, Han Hyo Joo will first lead the upcoming K-drama Blood Free. She will work alongside Ju Ji Hoon, Lee Hee Joon, Lee Moo Saeng, Park Ji Yeon, and Jo Bok Rae. The Disney+ K-drama will premiere on April 10.
Han Hyo Joo was last seen in the 2023 film Believer 2.
