Joo Hyun Young is the new addition to the cast of the upcoming MBC historical K-drama The Story of Park's Marriage Contract.
On March 30, Joo Hyun Young's agency announced that the actress is officially confirmed to join the upcoming series The Story of Park's Marriage Contract.
This will be the first K-drama project of the actress for 2023. Aside from this K-drama, Joo Hyun Young will also make her official big-screen debut through the film 2 O’Clock Date. She will be working alongside Im Yoon Ah, Ahn Bo Hyun, Sung Dong Il, and Go Geon Han.
Last year, Joo Hyun Young's career flourished after starring in the hit ENA K-drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo. Aside from acting, she also started her career in entertainment programs. She became a regular member of the show Saturday Night Live Korea Season 12. She is also currently one of the main MCs of the entertainment program Earth Mabul World Tour.
Joo Hyun Young made her acting debut in 2018. She has starred in multiple K-dramas such as Govengers, Best Mistake, As Your Heart Tells, Behind Every Star, and more. She is also expected to return to the follow-up of Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2 which will premiere next year.
The Story of Park's Marriage Contract will be about a golden marriage between a Confucian girl born in the 19th century and the 21st-century emotionless king. It will base its story on the webtoon of the same name.
The upcoming series will be the collaboration work of director Park Sang Hoon (Terius Behind Me) and writer Ko Nam Jung.
The K-drama will be led by Lee Se Young, Bae In Hyuk, Yoo Sun Ho, Oh Yu Jin, and Jin Kyung.
Joo Hyun Young will play the role of April. She is the servant and best friend of Lee Se Young's character named Park Yeon Woo. She is known to be cute, talkative, and witty.
The Story of Park's Marriage Contract will officially premiere in the second half of this year. It will exclusively air on MBC.
