Kim Hee Sun and Lee Hye Young will portray as in-laws in the upcoming MBC K-drama Gaslighting.
On November 8, It was officially confirmed that Kim Hee Sun and Lee Hye Young will be the main leads of the upcoming black comedy K-drama Gaslighting. The two will be joined by other casts Kim Nam Hee, Yeonwoo, Lee Joo Young, and Jung Heon.
Gaslighting will tell the story of Korea's top psychological counselor and her mother-in-law. The two will work together to find out the secrets and truths about their husbands and protect their families from an unknown blackmailer.
The upcoming K-drama will be the collaboration work of director Kim Seung Woo (Bring Me Home) and writer Nam Ji Yeon (So I Married an Anti-Fan).
Kim Hee Sun will give life to the character named Noh Young Won. She is Korea's best psychological counselor. She is wise and smart and also famous in the whole country. Although her life seems perfect, she has a secret that can taint her name.
Lee Hye Young will play the role of Hong Sa Gang, the mother-in-law of Noh Young Won. She is a popular mystery novelist and known for being a perfect mother whose number one priority is his only son. One day, she gets caught up in an incident and starts to seek help and cooperate with her daughter-in-law who she doesn't like.
Gaslighting will begin filming soon and it is confirmed to premiere in 2024. The upcoming K-drama will have a total of 12 episodes.
This will be the comeback K-drama of Kim Hee Sun. This year, the actress didn't appear in any K-drama projects. Gaslighting will be her follow-up work after the 2022 Netflix original K-drama Remarriage and Desires.
This year, Kim Hee Sun led the film Honey Sweet with Yoo Hae Jin, Cha In Pyo, Jin Seon Kyu, Han Sun Hwa, and Jung Da Eun.
Meanwhile, Gaslighting will be the first confirmed project of Lee Hye Young for 2024. This year, the actress starred in Disney+ original K-drama Big Bet Season 2 with Choi Min Shik, Son Suk Ku, Lee Dong Hwi, Heo Sung Tae, Kim Joo Ryoung, and Kim Hong Pa.
