MBC's upcoming Friday-Saturday drama Bittersweet Hell dropped new stills.
Bittersweet Hell is a black comedy K-drama that tells the story of Noh Young Won (Kim Hee Sun), a renowned family counselor who finds herself threatened by an unknown blackmailer. This leads her to collaborate with her mother-in-law, Hong Sa Gang (Lee Hye Young), in order to protect her family.
The stills depict Noh Young Won working hard as Korea's best family counselor. She tries her best to help her patients, exuding empathy while listening to their grievances.
However, after the consultations, No Young Won is seen with crossed arms, wearing a serious expression while checking something on her phone, and appearing lost in thought. The stills arouse curiosity about what shocking events await her.
It is reported that Kim Hee Sun exerted every effort to portray the character of No Young Won, including trying to maintain a calm tone and lowering her speaking voice pitch to transform into a trustworthy counselor.
It is also said that the actress paid special attention to vocalization, pronunciation, and speaking speed. Not to forget, she also looked up various videos, books, and reference materials to transform into Noh Young Won.
The production team praised Kim Hee Sun for infusing her unique charm into the character of No Youn Won, promising viewers that her performance will not fail to captivate them.
Bittersweet Hell will premiere on May 24. More news about the K-drama's OTT streaming service is yet to come.
