tvN's new weekend drama Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon delves into the mythical land of Arth, where the fate of its inhabitants is shaped by the wielder of the sword.
The drama tells the story of the intertwined destinies of Ta Gon (Jang Dong Gun), Eun Seom (Lee Joon Gi), Tan Ya (Shin Sae Kyeong), and Tae Al Ha (Kim Ok Bin).
The recently-released stills give a glimpse of Tae Al Ha (Kim Ok Bin), the queen of Arthdal sitting at the zenith of power. Despite enjoying immense authority for the past eight years, she desires more. Her thirst for power burns even more intensely than before.
Especially interesting is her appearance alongside her son, born from her relationship with Ta Gon. In Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon, she plans to execute a special child education to ensure that she maintains dominion over everyone.
Kim Ok Bin remarked, "In Season 1, we saw her (Tae Al Ha) as a young woman who believes in love and leans on others. Now, she is a mother and a politician, displaying a more mature side and a burning ambition for power".
She also spoke about the kind of love Tae Al Ha gives to her child, saying, "The love Tae Al Ha got from her father had to be a presence that could be used when it had value. Since the love she received is different from that of a warm love of a typical mother with maternal instincts, I think the love shown to her child will be similar to the love she received from her father".
Furthermore, Kim Ok Bin commented about Arok and his importance in Tae Al Ha's life, saying, "Arok is the most useful being who helps Tae Al Ha maintain her power. His well-being is important to her own well-being, and she wants Arok to develop qualities like Ta Gon – rational, wise, and resolute. Thus, she has been teaching him rigorously since his young age".
With this, anticipation grows for Kim Ok Bin's passionate performance as the queen of Arthdal, a mother, and a greedy politician.
Global audiences can look forward to the premiere of Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon on Disney+ on September 9th.
