He began his service in February of 2017 as a conscripted policeman, he lost his position due to his marijuana case. On January 26, 2018, He was transferred to the Yongsan District Office to resume his duties as a public service worker and was discharged on July 8, 2019.
On February 7, 2022 YG Entertainment officially announced T.O.P left the agency after 16 years. The agency continued, “As long as the conditions are right, T.O.P will always participate in BIGBANG’s activities whenever he is able.”
On April 5, 2022 BIGBANG returned with new song “Still Life,” which marked their first group release in 4 years. T.O.P participated in composing the music and lyrics for the song.
On May 30, 2023 he revealed that he has withdrawn from BIGBANG.
