NU'EST's Ren will be back to acting with a new K-drama.
On November 8th, Ren's current agency Big Planet Made announced that their artist will finally meet viewers through the upcoming k-drama "I’ve Been Waiting for You for a Long Time."
This will be Ren's first-ever K-drama project after leaving Pledis Entertainment and the disbandment of NU'EST.
In the upcoming series "I’ve Been Waiting for You for a Long Time," Ren will portray the role of Oh Jin Woo. He is the younger brother of the female lead. He also likes the main lead character Oh Jin Sang more than anyone else.
Ren was last seen in the drama "Genesis" which premiered in 2021. He worked alongside Park Hae Jin, Nana, Lee Shi Ah, Kwak Shi Yang, Lee Ki Woo, and Sul Ji Yoon.
The idol actor has participated in several dramas domestically and internationally. He made a special appearance in the dramas "Coffee Society 4.0," "Something Family," "Lonely Gourmet: Taipei," "I'm Not A Girl Anymore," "Reckless Family Season 3," and "Jeon Woo Chi."
Ren made his debut as part of the boy group NU'EST in 2012. In March 2022, Pledis Entertainment announced that the group is officially disbanding. Ren did not renew his contract with Pledis Entertainment and started anew as a solo artist in Big Planet Entertainment. This year, he has focused on starring in different musicals.
"I’ve Been Waiting for You for a Long Time" will be led by Na In Woo, Kim Ji Eun, Lee Kyu Han, and Kwon Yool.
The story will revolve around Detective Oh Jin Sang and his revenge on an evil group of people. He will do his best to avenge his younger sibling.
The upcoming series will be directed by Han Cheol Soo who's also known for the k-dramas "Again My Life," "Graceful Family," "Can Love Become Money," "Gourmet," "All About Eve," and more.
