After becoming a member of a girl group, Park Jin Joo will return to her roots and star in a new drama.
On August 4th, it was confirmed that Park Jin Joo will join the upcoming KBS drama "If You Wish Upon Me."
Park Jin Joo's agency Andmarq shared that the actress will be one of the casts of the upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama on KBS.
"If You Wish Upon Me" will be the collaboration work of director Kim Yong Wan ("The Cursed" and "Love Cells") and writer Jo Young Soo.
The series will showcase the journey and life of a young man named Yoon Gyeo Rye. Growing up, he had a hard time living in an orphanage, spending time in detention centers, prison, and more. After an incident, he was assigned to volunteer at a hospice. There, he will work alongside volunteer team leader Kang Tae Shik and nurse Seo Yeon Joo and they will fulfill the last wishes of the patients. The series is inspired by a real foundation in the Netherlands that fulfills the last wishes of terminally ill patients.
Park Jin Joo will play the role of Se Hee, an aspiring musical actress who becomes the youngest patient in the hospital.
She will work alongside main leads Ji Chang Wook Girls Generation's Choi Soo Young and Sung Dong Il, Won Ji An, Yang Hee Kyung, and Kil Hae Yeon.
"If You Wish Upon Me" will premiere on August 10th. The series will have a total of 16 episodes. It will exclusively air on KBS. Overseas fans can watch the drama through the OTT platform, Viu.
This will be the first official acting project of Park Jin Joo for 2022. This year, she pursued her singing career by being part of the project group WSG Wannabe formed by "Hangout with Yoo."
Park Jin Joo also made a special appearance in the 2022 drama "Yumi's Cells 2" as Kim Go Eun's character's classmate.
Aside from "If You Wish Upon Me," she is also set to star in the upcoming dramas "Critical X" and "Unusual Men and Women.' Park Jin Joo will also join the new films "Hero" and "Honest Candidate 2."
