Netflix Brings "The Atypical Family" to Global Audience
According to sources, the script reading of the upcoming medical drama Doctor Slump will be held tomorrow (March 4).
Doctor Slump is a romantic comedy that tells the story of two doctors who have fallen into a slump and their endeavor to reinvigorate their lives. The drama casts Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik.
The screenwriter of the drama is Baek Sun Woo, whose most famous works include K-dramas What's Wrong with Secretary Kim and My Roommate Is a Gumiho. The task of directing is taken up by Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo director Oh Hyun Jong.
Doctor Slump will mark Park Shin Hye's comeback after two years. And this will be the first time in ten years she reunites with Park Hyung Sik in a drama after last being seen with him in The Heirs, which aired in 2013. Whereas, Doctor Slump will be Park Hyung Sik's second K-drama of the year. The first one is the currently airing historical mystery Our Blooming Youth which is the most-watched K-drama by users in 21 countries, including the UK, Spain, the US, Canada, and Australia, according to the global OTT platform Rakuten Viki.
The filming of the drama is reported to commence in March, and it will be broadcasted in the second half of 2023.
