After over a decade, Shin Min Ah will reportedly return to the historical genre!
On October 10, media outlets reported that Shin Min Ah will lead the upcoming historical fantasy K-drama The Remarried Empress. The upcoming K-drama will be based on the web novel of the same name.
Shin Min Ah's agency AM Entertainment quickly responded to the circulating casting reports. They said, "Shin Min Ah did receive the offer and the actress is currently considering it."
The Remarried Empress will showcase the story of the perfect empress of the Dongdae Empire named Navier. She decided to divorce her emperor husband after finding out that he wanted to make his mistress an empress. She will then look for an opportunity to be an empress elsewhere.
According to reports, Shin Min Ah got the offer to give life to the main character Navier.
There are no other details revealed yet regarding the filming, broadcast channel, and premiere date of The Remarried Empress.
Shin Min Ah recently starred in the tvN K-drama No Gain, No Love. She worked alongside Kim Young Dae, Lee Sang Yi, Han Ji Hyun, Lee Yoo Jin, and Go Wook.
The top actress will also star in the upcoming series Karma which will be her first official Netflix original K-drama. In the K-drama, she will work with Park Hae Soo, Lee Hee Joon, Kim Sung Kyun, Lee Kwang Soo, and Gong Seung Yeon.
Shin Min Ah will also reportedly star in the upcoming movie Eyes directed by Yeom Ji Ho (Next Door).
Shin Min Ah’s potential return to the historical drama genre with The Remarried Empress would mark her grand comeback. Her last historical role was in the 2012 K-drama Arang and the Magistrate.
