Weki Meki's Kim Do Yeon is set for another acting gig!

On February 23rd, media outlets reported that Weki Meki's Kim Do Yeon will play as the young version of Jun Ji Hyun in the much anticipated tvN drama "Cliffhanger".

The idol-actress' agency Fantagio confirmed the news and shared, "It is true that Kim Do Yeon will participate in the upcoming tvN drama".

Kim Do Yeon will play the role of the young Seo Yi Kang, the character that Jun Ji Hyun will play.

"Cliffhanger" is written by famous writer Kim Eun Hee ("Kingdom" series and "Signal") and will be directed by "Sweet Home" and "Mr. Sunshine" director, Lee Eung Bok. It will narrate the story of people hiking through the mysterious regions of Mount Jiri, the largest mountain on the South Korean mainland.

Kim Do Yeon will join other actors in the drama including Jun Ji Hyun, Joo Ji Hoon, Sung Dong Il, Oh Jung Se, and more.

Even before Kim Do Yeon officially debuted as an I.O.I and Weki Meki member, she had been labeled as the Jun Ji Hyun look alike in Produce 101. Many are delighted that she will play the younger version of the top actress' character.

It seems like 2021  will be the year that Kim Do Yeon escalates her acting career alongside being an idol. Earlier this month, it was also confirmed that Kim Do Yeon will be part of the upcoming drama "My Roommate Is a Gumiho" starring Jang Ki Young, GIrl's Day Lee Hye Ri and Kang Han Na which will air in May.

"Cliffhanger" will reportedly air on the second half of the year.
