Jang So Yeon is confirmed to star alongside Wi Ha Joon and Jung Ryeo Won in a new K-drama
Yang Se Jeong and miss A's Bae Suzy are confirmed to star in the upcoming Netflix original series "The Girl Downstairs."
On December 12th, Netflix officially confirmed that Yang Se Jeong and Bae Suzy will be the main leads of the upcoming k-drama.
"The Girl Downstairs" will base its story on the webtoon titled Lee Doo Na by Min Song Ah. The upcoming K-drama will tell the romance story of a former K-Pop idol and an ordinary college student who will become housemates.
Bae Suzy will play the role of Lee Doo Na. She worked as the main vocalist of the group and she is the center and most popular member. Lee Doo Na suddenly announced that she will retire from the industry and decided to stay at a university sharehouse.
Yang Se Jeong will portray the character named Lee Won Joon. He is an ordinary college student with a warm and pure heart. He will be the place of rest for Lee Doo Na.
"The Girl Downstairs" will be the next work of director Lee Jeong Hyo who's known for being the man behind the popular k-dramas "Crash Landing on You," "Life on Mars," "The Good Wife," "Witch's Romance," and more.
This will be the first official k-drama of Yang Se Jeong after four years. The actor entered the military in 2020 and got discharged in November 2021.
Yang Se Jong last appeared in the 2019 drama "My Country: The New Age" with Woo Do Hwan, Kim Seol Hyun, Jang Hyuk, Kim Yeong Cheol, and Ahn Nae Sang. Before he enlisted, he made a cameo appearance in the 2020 series "Dr. Romantic 2."
Meanwhile, this will be the follow-up project of Bae Suzy after the 2022 Coupang Play original series "Anna." This will also be the first-ever original k-drama of Bae Suzy for Netflix. Aside from "The Girl Downstairs," Bae Suzy will also star in the upcoming film "Wonderland" with Park Bo Gum, Choi Woo Shik, and Jung Yu Mi.
