Yoo Jae Myung, Han Ye Ri, and Uhm Tae Goo will work together on the upcoming Saturday-Sunday drama "Hometown"
On March 25th, the casting for OCN's upcoming drama 'Hometown' was finalized. It will be directed by Park Hyun Suk (Stranger 2, Uncontrollably Fond )and written by Joo Jin.
The upcoming drama "Hometown" is a mystery thriller that will uncover the truth behind mysterious killings and unidentified sounds in a small town. Choi Hyung In is a detective who investigates a murder case. Cho Jung Hyun on the other hand, is a family member of a terrorist. One day, the niece under her care suddenly goes missing. Both Choi Hyung In and Cho Jung Hyun will face off against a terrorist named Cho Kyung Ho.
Yoo Jae Myung will play the character of Choi Hyung In. He's part of the violent crime squad as a detective. He lost his wife in a terrorist attack.
Han Ye Ri will be Cho Jung Hyun in the drama. She is part of the terrorist's family. She will face another tragedy when her niece goes missing.
Lastly, Uhm Tae Goo will play the role of a mysterious convict named Cho Kyung Ho. He was sentenced to a lifetime of imprisonment for committing a terrorist attack where he sprayed Sarin gas ("Salgas") at various train stations in his hometown.
Yoo Jae Myung is currently appearing in the ongoing 2021 drama "Vincenzo" as Jeon Yeo Bin's father. "Hometown" will be his next drama project. The brilliant actor is also set to appear in several upcoming movies such as "Broker," "Season of You and Me," and "Alien."
"Hometown" will be Han Ye Ri's first drama project for 2021. The actress is part of the Hollywood movie "Minari" that received several awards and nominations in the Oscars, Golden Globes, and more.
Meanwhile, this drama will be Uhm Tae Goo's comeback to the small screen since 2019's "Save Me 2" starring
Chun Ho Jin and Esom.
"Hometown" will premiere in the second half of 2021.
